It was still a conservative set-up. Not parked bus but conservative. That is Rohr's preference but I feel and honestly believe we can be more explosive with a more offensive set-up.

Who told you that is Rohr's preference? You just judged from the last 15mins of the Cameroon game. Was he not all offensive against Algeria and Cameroon in Uyo? What of the first half against Cameroun and Zambia away?

As I said choosing to go all attacking or defending depends a lot on the strength of your opposition and the result you aim to achieve at that point in the game.

Rohr needed to maintain that lead against Cameroon which was why he pulled out a more attacking player (Mikel) and brought in a more defense minded player (Agu). That's is what any normal thinking coach would do at that moment. Besides steam had gone out of Mikel Obi. Agu was not of the quality we thought he was which was why it almost back-fired, because he brought nothing into the game.

carlos ancellotic will be a better choice but I don't think Leicester can afford him. Another mediocre coach will come in. That's just the way it is

Fine if Uzoho gets more game time then he is in for selection. But let us see that come to materialization first.

That is a no brainer but do not belittle his achievement.

How many 18 year olds GKs are starting in the top 4 leagues? As it stands, Uzoho will start the next game and unless he fumbles, he could be a major player for Depor this season.

Read it on four four two online magazine. I think you will enjoy their compilation of the best 100 greatest footballers. Disappointing thing though was that no African(except Eusebio perhaps) was mentioned, not even George Weah. I also think you'd enjoy reading the one on one interviews with great footballers.

unfortunately the first won't be going to the world cup...
ighalo already took the slot for the oldies upfront....
someone like dessers, nacho nwakeme should he play well against Algeria, and Tammy if he switch...though unlikely...

alot can still happen though...but your beloved obagoal won't make that list...

My issue is simply let the best players go, some of these young players have not got anywhere near the level of Obagoal and indeed may never reach his level.

In this regard Defoe, Alves, Ibrahimovic, Arjen Robben, are all older than Obagoal so what's the problem And most of them will be going to Russia.

LEICESTER CITY SACK MANAGER SHAKESPEARE AFTER POOR START TO SEASON

Leicester City have sacked manager Craig Shakespeare following a run of one win in eight Premier League matches this season, according to reports.
According to Daily Mail, Shakespeare was relieved of his duties at the King Power Stadium at a meeting on Tuesday following a 1-1 draw with West Brom on Monday.
Shakespeare took over from Claudio Ranieri when the Italian was sacked in February with Leicester in the midst of a relegation battle and rumours of a dressing room revolt.

Leicester subsequently finished 12th with improved performances in the latter months of the campaign, leading to him to be rewarded with a three-year contract in June.
However, a rocky run of results - in which they failed to defeat Huddersfield Town, Bournemouth and West Brom - led the Foxes board to take action against the 53-year-old.

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY: NFF CONFIRM APPROACH FROM ENGLAND – Reports

England have reportedly contacted Nigeria over a friendly game with the Super Eagles of Nigeria to help both teams prepare for the World Cup in Russia next year.
Just like Nigeria, the Three Lions of England are through to next year World Cup, hence the need to play preparatory games has become imperative before the start of the tournament next year in June.
According to a report on Nigerian online portal , the English FA contacted their Nigerian counterparts shortly after the Super Eagles sealed progress to the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Zambia.
The game has been slated for next year but it will only hold if both teams are not in the same group when the draws for the World Cup is made in December.
”We have received a mail from the FA asking for the friendly with the Eagles but it will only be confirmed after the draws, if we are in the same group we cannot play against each other”, an unnamed source at the NFF was quoted as saying by .

Nigeria have only faced England twice with the first game taking place in 1995, when England ran out 1-0 winners at the old Wembley stadium in a friendly game, their path crossed again at the World Cup in Japan/South Korea and it ended.

ROHR POST SCOUT TO MONITOR DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA NIGERIAN GOALKEEPER UZOHO THIS WEEKEND

Deportivo La Coruna of Spain goalkeeper Francis Odinaka Uzoho will be watched at close quarters in the 9th round of games in the La-Liga by a scout of the national team of Nigeria.
Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr is looking for options in the goalkeeping department of his team, and views the soon to be 19 year old as an option after his La-Liga debut last weekend against Eibar.
Although the coach is aware of his progress at Deportivo La Coruna, the need to watch him at close quarters has now become imperative after his debut last weekend.
Rohr will send one of the European scouts working with him to run the rule on the goalkeeper who is expected to keep his first team spot when they take on Girona in the league on Monday.
The game will also help the technical crew monitor the progress of one of the strikers of the Nigeria team in the same game in Olarewaju Kayode who is on loan to Girona from Manchester City.

With the sack of Shakespeare, I hope the new coach will not dance to the tune of the players thereby keeping Musa relegated. He scored a beautiful goal in his last game in capital one cup or so and wasn't featured in any game afterwards, rather he was demoted, and despite reports of his impressive run with the junior teams he wasn't promoted. that seemed like politics to me, it seemed Shakespeare allowed the players to dictate for him. I just hope Musa gets the opportunity to reclaim his spot in the team, of which I doubt the incoming manager won't consider, because he is expected to try all available options to ensure that he surpasses the achievements of his predecessor.

I wish Iheanacho success with his new manager, and may all things at Leicester work together for his good.
