Actually there is a possibility of the jets flying in from NAF 222 Wings base at Ilorin. They are responsible for the south western flank of our border. Alpha jets used to be stationed there(don't know about now sha).
Not all the F-7 are stationed at TAC so its just might truly be an F7 . How wish you could tell the sound then I would tell you weather it was an alpha or F-7.

It's been really long so I can't remember . However, it's obvious whatever pulled that stunt was flying at mach 1

Enugu and port Harcourt are the home of the helicopters so fast jets are only guests once in a while.

My friend, JF17 versions NAF will own would have MIG 29 type engines, refuelling capability and a radar at par/ better than SU 35. Getting to Sudan is refuelling over Maiduguri and meeting the aircraft's on the way back.

There are so many factors to capability that you should not be shallow or mechanistic in thinking. Gadhaffi's Libya and Saddam's Iraq were examples of countries with loads of hardware and low capability. Iran, UAE, Nigeria and Jordan are examples of countries starting to emphasize acquisition of holistic capabilities instead of mindless buying of weapons that makes you prey to scams from developed countries.

those things fly very high, soo high that you can hardly see what it is, unlike the normal jets and helicopters........during that operation python dance, I was able to clearly see the A-jets fly pass and also their engine roar, but you can't even hear those things roar

To be fair, a significant portion seem to have been damaged in battle - look at the pics, most of them have destroyed axles (IED/Mine strikes) and other serious body damage.

This is generally, however, a major issue when smaller militaries deploy far from home. When NATO deploys, they bring along huge mechanic depos and motor-pools equipped with all the bells and whistles, run by a small army of technicians - most smaller militaries dont have the ability to deploy that kind of capacity.

Even the SANDF, for example, a while back that we were facing huge problems in the DRC. Having to transport heavy engineering equipment (diggers, graders etc) all the way back to RSA just to get serviced.

Further, considering the low levels of human capital on the continent - the risk v reward of deploying a skilled (and rare) technician to a warzone (where you may lose him) means that allot of commanders would rather leave them back in the depo at home.

But, hey, maybe they could take a leaf out of our book and bring in some Cubans to get things back on track
