It's a fair group

I personally think Argentina will crash out at the Group Stage this time.

Nigeria and Croatia to go through from this group.

We need to top this group to avoid France and in case we somehow meet them, PLEASE break a French player's leg.
Onazi will be ready this time around.

No mind them.None of those teams have the quality to beat us.

We will qualify from that group unbeaten just like our qualifiers.

The fixtures in group A is irregular... Russia are to face Saudi Arabia first instead of Uruguay as done in the other groups.

I trust this team. As long as we don't self destruct, Nigeria would definitely spring a surprise next summer ... count on that!

. It's good to be considered underdogs. I want the boys to play with anger, ruthlessness and determination but still a bit of moderation. In fact because of what they said,Nigeria and Iceland will top that group.

Our team is like a sponge, argentina and Croatia will play a high pressing and passing game, but woe betide them that they lose the ball, our counter attacking game is very ruthless. Iceland we think is easy, will sit back and play long balls. That's where our team has a weakness.

It's not irregular. A1 plays A2 then A4 then A4. It follows from the draw; that's why after knowing your group, they still draw to know your position in the group- apart from the top seeded teams.

Croatia is not a goal scoring side. They have one of the best midfielders in the World but they are not prolific in front of goal. Study modric, perisic, rakitic, and brozovic history you will find out my point

Don't blame them. Just like if you are asked who would qualify from Group B I am sure you'll pick Spain and Portugal but the Moroccans would believe they can go through.

But from my experience of past WCs, upsets do happen. Costa Rica topped a group that had Italy and Spain the last time.

This world cup would be explosive. So many teams are in form and there are no weak teams except maybe Panama.

Good point.

But just to be clear: I have already predicted that Spain and Morocco are going to advance from group B. And that has nothing to do with African solidarity either. I think Portugal is overrated and too highly ranked. The Euro win was a fluke and hopefully they would be exposed in Russia!

Friendly proposals

Uruguay or Colombia (prepare us for Argentina)

Denmark or Sweden (prepare us for Iceland)

Serbia or Spain (prepare us for Croatia)
Do we really need these top friendly matches before performing at WC.I remember US 94 team did not really played any top friendly and they surprised all,our France 98 was exposed by Holland 5-1 before WC,what happened against Denmark 4-1 even in our group stage we lost 3-1 to Paraguay.

Let this team play smaller team even club sides to enhance their cohesion and tactics and arrive WC fresh to unleash their weapons.

Good time for Rohr to sit down and start in earnest, enough of average switchers, what we need now is just back up striker for Ighalo and Iheanacho,GK he should just close his eyes and pick the three from Uzoho,Ezenwa,Akpeyi,Ajiboye and Alampasu. The rest are good to go,nothing to add in the Defence and midfield except we see exceptional player.

Bro, in 1994 Bulgaria came 2nd in our group but they ended up winning the bronze medal. Whereas we who finished 1st crashed out in the round of 16. So it doesn't really matter who finished first or second ... as long as you're moving thru.

The only reason I can opt for Nacho staying at Leicester City is if he is waiting to get a passport. Apart from that, a move out of the EPL seems a better option to me.

I will prefer Nacho a regular sub in clubs like Ajax, Villarreal, Valencia, Benfica, Dortmund etc. Clubs with history of playing free flowing attacking football and create lots of chances.

Look at how Traore used Ajax to springboard his career. He must have learnt a lot about the technical side of the game at Ajax, making him an asset to whichever manager that signs him.

I do not trust EPL clubs due to the coaching instability.

It's fine if he's willing to waste 3 more years of his life waiting for the British passport.

That passport is useless to me as Britain is no longer a part of the EU. If Puel can establish that he doesn't need Nacho, he'd sell him out, unless he'd want to sell vardy or Marhrez instead.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 6:02pm On Dec 01, 2017
True. It has to go both ways.
Icon4s:

Friendlies are a two way thing. You must also be attractive to your opponents in friendlies.

Colombia are playing Senegal, they would want to have a meeting with us in a friendly. They would also be a good South American test in preparation for Argentina.

Brazil are not playing any African team so Nigeria will not be of interest to them.

Poland is playing Senegal, so Nigeria would be attractive to them. They would also be attractive to us in preparation for Croatia and Iceland.

Germany are not playing any West African team and so Nigeria may not be attractive to them. Although Rohr may just influence this but it will not be of much benefits to Germany.

Xavi is a club legend was he not? Does that mean he wasn't replaced when he was still active? Abidal too. Forget this club legend crap and see the thing starring at you, Iheanacho does not have the quality to bench Okazaki. How can you expect the coach of a struggling side to just give a bench warmer a run of 5 games?! Shows that you don't know the basics of coaching, Iheanacho will only depend on his performance in those cameos to get a starting shirt and he has not made any impression there so how will he get games? Or you think it's preseason?

Xavi was replaced in the Twilight of his career. Not two seasons into him winning his first title with Barcelona.

No one is saying Nacho must get a five game run immediately at Leicester City. The point is that it takes five games to access a player's quality in a club. All the talk that Iheanacho is not good does not add up because he has not gotten a run of games.

Finally, your assessment that Iheanacho can not keep Okazaki on the bench is your own assessment. Heck, you prefer Obafemi Martins to Iheanacho. Even Uche and maybe Osaze. So how do you think I expect you to believe Iheanacho is better than Okazaki.

It boils down to roles. If you want kick and rush football, pick Okazaki. He runs miles on the pitch. If you want a well played quality performance, Nacho trumps Okazaki.

Bro take it from someone who knows, you'll be surprised when you see a rejuvenated Argentine team in Russia. I am actually glad that we're not playing them first .... that would give us a chance to watch them play. Saying that Argentina isn't gonna make it out of group D is not realistic. Our best option is to beat Croatia.

And in addition, I am picking Messi to win it all this time, so what do you expect to say? grin

I think Nacho needs one more year for the contract. Not three. Keep in mind, the passport requirement is also important for his career. He qualifies as one of the English players which will make him attractive for teams that need English players with quality.

I say he gets the passport and then search for a place to prove himself.
