Kog45: Thank you my brother. OMG! Are those the keepers we want to use to face Croatia and Argentina? I have finally joined the call for Enyeama. #bringbackenyeama |

Icon4s:elyte89 was absolutely right,do they think Rohr will be happy without Moses in his team, beating Argentina is not the ultimate,we should remember it was a friendly match and not WC match. Good that we did it in the absence of some of our regulars cos it gives us options but come against Croatia and the rest we want our best like Moses,Onazi,Mikel,Balogun,Ndidi,Ekong, Iwobi,Nacho,Ighalo available. |

Kog45:na condition make crayfish bend. If Ezenwa was up to it, we would not be discussing any of those three, would we? All these IFs no mean anything. The fact on ground is that we are having a crisis in the goalie area and anyone playing regularly should be ranked highly. We just need a goalie that plays well and right now Uzoho is ahead of Alamps because: 1) He plays regularly 2) He had a comparatively better debut Uzoho and Alampasu are dragging one spot as far as I am concerned...Maduka is not even in the mix 3 Likes |

Icon4s:is Enyeama currently better than those players? When last did Enyeama kick a ball? His own recall get condition: Find a club by January and play or forget World Cup.... I am not joining any call for Enyeama until January when he fulfills his own conditions, he no even better pass Ikeme currently 3 Likes 1 Share |

We really need an experienced gk. All smallie keepers are not ready for world cup. gk needs experience a lot o Uzoho has potentials but he shouldn't be our main keeper going to the world cup. We really enyeama to get his acts together before the world cup |

Kog45: That is the problem with Nigerian fans. We easily get carried away by our most recent success. That SA loss is still there to remind us of the importance of those senior players in the team. See them now lining up Uzoho, Okoye and Alampasu as our 3 keepers to the world cup. There is a stage you get to in the world cup that it is the experience of the senior players that the younger ones would be ridding on to see the team going. The world cup ticket is very hard to come by o. Ask countries like Egypt, Zambia, Senegal, DRC. We need to maximize every opportunity to play in the World Cup. 2 Likes |

safarigirl: The goal keeping position for the world cup is not for kids. Rohr has even stated he has plans for Enyeama if he can settle his cub issue well and early enough. Goal keepers don't lose form like that. |

emmyspark007:like I said....until Enyeama gets the club. I did not say Enyeama is worse than the small boys, but currently, Enyeama is just about as fit as Ikeme for anything You are quoting me to tell me the same thing I am saying So, if Enyeama does not get a club and playing time by January, he will still displace the small boys? Match rusty Enyeama? So, you would rather take rusted engine to WC than active one? |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Teekim: 4:44pm On Dec 04, 2017 |
Yes, the game against the Argentines was just a friendly, but the Super Eagles prosecuted that game in class and any team that overlooks that result is doing it at its own peril. I have not had the time take a another look at the game but I'd confidently say we THRASHED Argentina I don't know how the magic happened but I think that formation (3-5-2) could be an asset for our team, it should be mastered and used in the game against the Croatian team. In that friendly against Argentina we could have scored more goals than we did score or maybe we even had more scoring chances than they did; So 3-5-2 will work against Croatia if prosecuted rightly. On to the next one; Slow/Selfish Play: This alone is enough to make us crash out of the group and Victor Moses is an issue when it comes to this; He holds the ball too much Genort Rohr needs to talk some sense into him b/c this is World cup, Not Nations Cup. But can anyone take his place at least for the against Croatia? That's if he doesn't learn following the friendlies prior to the Mundial. 4 Likes |

Icon4s:and if he can't? You are not saying anything different....if Enyeama does not sort out his club issues, WHAT NEXT? You are talking as if I said we should carry Uzoho as first choice BTW, World Cup is not for kids, how old was Enyeama when he kept at his first World Cup? 3 Likes |

Kog45: It is a comparison not a thing of joy. Alampasu has not been playing games, he can not be better than those keeping competitively every week. Alampasu is not even second choice. Most times, he does not even make the bench. Rating Maduka ahead is simply because he is playing not because he is new. Realistically, none of them should be first choice at the WC. 5 Likes |

Make una try dey understand pesin for this thread before quoting My points are- 1) Uzoho and Alampasu are competing for ONE spot in our team 2) Pending when and if Enyeama sorts out his club issues, he is not on my list of World Cup attendees |

For me, Maduka was only mentioned by Rohr as a potential U-20 or U-23 goalkeeper. He is obviously not ready for the World Cup challenge yet. 1 Like |

tbaba1234:My major focus is CHAN hope Alloy would give Dele Ajiboye a chance which is slim cos Ezenwa is the captain. Dele Ajiboye is better than Akpeyi and Ezenwa coz watching the guy against Guinea tells me a lot,so confident, read his line very well and played the ball on the ground with his defenders just like Uzoho did against Argentina, these are attributes of a good keeper. 3 Likes |

There is nothing wrong with Francis Uzoho being the first choice if he performs better than the other goalkeepers in camp. He was brought into the fray due to the unconvincing performance of the other guys. Enyeama was only 20 and was still in enyimba when he made his debut against England at Korea/Japan 2002. So much fuss about the club they play for......match fitness, player quality and good team preparedness are better criteria for a solid performance than the clubside u play for....ask the Korean team of 2002 and the Costa Rican team of 2014! 2 Likes |

Teekim: If we play 3-5-2 Moses is going to partner upfront with Ighalo (or whoever strikes) Because we would be rendering ourselves a disservice to use Moses as wing back. We would starve ourselves of Moses usefulness upfront and Ebuehi's defensive/attacking guile. This is our best 3-5-2 formation IMO ------------Awaziem----Ekong----Balogun---------------- Ebuehi--------Onazi-------------Ndidi---------------Idowu -----------------------Mikel--------------------------------- Moses Ighalo This is a terror squad. Ebuehi is fast. HE recovers fast to help defensively and he overlaps very well in the attack. He even delivered a sweet cross to Iheanacho which the latter did not convert. Moses will terrorize the opponent with speed and dribbles on the counter. Bryan Idowu is a good set piece taker and he also knows how to score. Iwobi/Simon/Onyekuru can come in for Moses later in the game when we have a comfortable lead or if we have to switch back to 4-3-3 Ighalo will perform better than Iheanacho as a target man. He will pose problem to his defenders. Him and Moses will be a deadly combo. Overall this is a defensive formation. Even our strikers (Moses, Ighalo) can defend. Even teams like Germany would find us hard to break if we sit and defend like against Germany while we slaughter them on the counter if they are not careful. 3 Likes 1 Share |
