Meanwhile, our dearest beloved Tammy has finally exhausted his chances and the coach has dropped him to the bench for failing to score a goal in 10 games 2 Likes |

junnyjake: look, club performance puts players in the spotlight and gives them the necessary recognition. Have you ever wonder why some players keep getting call ups despite under performing in their clubs? Spain kept inviting Torres even while performing abysmally for Chelsea. Fabregas was always one of the first name on the list despite not having enough playing time with Chelsea. That's one country as an example. Do you know while their coach kept faith with them-it was because he knew that they'll deliver. Marcos Alonso has been phenomenal for Chelsea since last year. Do you know what? He is still hoping for his First invitation. If I'm too tow your line of proposition, every player that comes to the spot light(is in form) should be invited ba? You can't have a national team by inviting all players base on their club performances alone or else you'll only be having new sets of players to execute each match... Even Rohr knows this. That's while he has been inviting Musa, Onazi before he moved to Turkey, Moses Simon etc. Onyekuru has been having Stellar performances consistently for his clubs but still he has only been having epileptic call-ups. To cut the story short, club performance is one thing and replicating it in the national team is another. 4 Likes 1 Share |

jihday:My man from my own opinion he was a flop in that match or can you tell me any WC match that Kanu show his class, pls when we talk of Eagles,Kanu was just too average, three WC appearance and Five Afcon but not a single goal and 12 goals with over 87 caps for Eagles though a great player which i admired and respect but i don't need to mix things up cos i love KANU |

Icon4s: I think the unfortunate side of our right back preparation for the France '98 World Cup was the injury to Jero Shakpoke in the game against the Netherlands we lost 5-1. He was doing well until the injury. I think after Mobi had a tough game in the Friendly against Yugoslavia, Jero Shakpoke was picked. He did well but injured. Eguavoen came into the game against Holland and Seedorf and co, tore Eguavoen to shreds. After that, we had to go back to Mobi and he started in the game against Spain at the World Cup. 1 Like 1 Share |

Kog45: Kanu contributed more to the team than Goals. He spent a lot of time dropping deep and helping the team stay fluid. The Super Eagles boasted of many sprinting forwards/Wingers. Kanu's game for us had more to do with team play than goals. 2 Likes |

oloriooko: So indirectly, if a coach drops any of our key players from the starting line-up, the player loses his place in the team. So Conte can destroy our World Cup preparation by dropping Victor Moses on the bench until the end of the season and wham, another key player is out of the team. We need our best players in the team. The best way to do it is to get our very best pool to camp and select the best. That was why Iheanacho a bench warmer at Leicester City could have a good game against the Argentines and whipped in a brilliant free kick. Based on your ideology, Iheanacho should not have started that game. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

AIG07: Baffles me how someone can replicate his form without being invited. As for Mark Alonso, he is not a better option than Jordi Alba. Off the top of my head. I can guess there are other players better than him and that is why he has not been invited. 1 Like |

Kog45: You guys dont understand this, Ezenwa was not invited based on his current form as at when he was invited rather based on confidence inherited from previous performances. And I know you will ask are there not other goalkeepers doing well, well , there were but the goalkeeping job is a little different than outfield players. Keepers are mostly invited based on previous performances which usually means they have experience which translates into confidence and a crucial game like the one against Cameroon and Zambia is not an ideal occasion to try news hands.Ezenwa heroic performance at previous CHAN was still following him and lets be honest, my nigga rose to the occasion when he was needed. 3 Likes |

safarigirl:You seem to take this thing too personal Stop the cry and think it through Nacho is losing form so fast by warming the bench and not making the squad and in your all knowing wisdom you think he will be a WC star? I love Nacho but if he fails to keep a place in the first 11 in Leicester not ManU, ManC, Liverpool of Tot then I don't see the magic he can pull to make impact in the WC Oba goal plays week in week out in China and to you Nacho should be selected ahead of him cuz he scored in a friendly Oba was not invited Sis playing week in and out improves you but if you do not you lose form, did you see Ibra today? True the decision is Rohr's but he needs to jettison sentiments in his selections. We need the best legs for the WC not bunch of bench warmers 2 Likes |

AIG07:Pls don't let us mixed things up.Cliub performance is the only way to national team especially early invitation. Fernando Torres invitation despite being out of form was based on his previous performance for Spain,no new player or upcoming player would enjoy that privileged just like how Mikel was getting the invitations under Rohr and not making Chelsea day squad or what do you want to say about Musa and right now Iheanacho. They are enjoying this privilege cos they distinguished themselves in their early invitations in eagles colours,so for a player to enjoy this he must prove himself first in his club then consistent performance in the national team. |

Icon4s: I doubt Celestine Babayaro had a bad day. He was brilliant to the best of my knowledge. Remember him winning some balls from Clarence Seedorf. If Bora had faith in Mobi, he would not have started Jero ahead of Mobi when we played the Dutch team. I think we were balanced until Jero's injury. The introduction of Eguavoen (note, not Mobi) created a big disruption in the defence and the flood of goals was allowed in. The team was poor but there were culprits to such humiliating defeat and Eguavoen was clearly one of the major ones. |

TheGoodJoe: I once put up a post where I questioned the credentials of alloy agu and I wondered why he was still part of the coaching crew. Were there no better goalkeeper coaches worldwide? Its obvious that this man is the Nigerian factor personified (which hampers the right player section) I wonder if he has any coaching certificate or experience of any kinda if he does, it should be posted here from all to see I also said earlier that the majority of the blame for the failures of our goalkeepers rest on him I don't just like the man sef. What happened to Ike shorunmu ? Rohr brought in pionetti (not sure if I got his name right). So why is alloy agu still collecting salary? Not used to getting annoyed but the presence of this man in our coaching crew irritates me to no end? 3 Likes 1 Share |

MetalJigsaw: The only player that can play the AMF is Iwobi but he can't hold the ball and that is why Rohr is STILL SEARCHING for a player who is capable of holding the ball. Kelechi Iheanacho can't play that role neither can Etebor. Why? Because an AMF must posses the ability to control and hold unto the ball but unfortunately, Kelechi can't even control a ball and he doesn't have superior techinical abilities while Etebor is a direct player. They are both SS. This is an extract from Wikipedia 'The attacking midfielder is an important position that requires the player to possess superior technical abilities in terms of passing and dribbling, as well as, perhaps more importantly, the ability to read the opposing defence in order to deliver defence-splitting passes to the striker' That is why you see players like Juan Mata, Bryan, Eden Harzard, Mario Gotze, David Silver, James Rodrigue, etc thrive in that role. Do they(Kelechi and Etobor) play like these players listed above? I don't think so. If they can play that role, why are they not given that role in their various clubs? Why is Mahrez preffered ahead of Iheanacho if he has those attributes? Funny enough, the new coach tried Iheanacho in that role, guess what, he failed woefully. The players that can do what is close to those players listed above are Mikel Obi, Sone Aluko and Abdul Ajagun. We don"t need to bring untested players in a particular role because of sentiments. 2 Likes |

darkelf: I do not know much about Alloy Agu's credentials but I know he has a history in the sports corridors of Nigerian football. Probably his history and knowledge of the game got him the job. However, I doubt he knows what he is doing there and I believe he has been a big draw back to our preparation for the World Cup. I think that is why Rohr is keen on Enyeama to save wasted time. I would prefer a foreigner handling that department because a lot of bias goes into goalkeeper selection. It takes a lot of discipline from the coaching crew to get it right. But, it is atrocious under Alloy Agu. 3 Likes 1 Share |

It is a major factor that has boosted both players' performance in the team. Omeruo you know is an AFCON winner and featured in the last WC. Balogun I know has enough playing experience to cope with the challenges ahead. Though his pace is still a course of worry. As for Awaziem, Ebuehi, Aina and Idowu, I recon that those of them that will make the final squad would not have issues integrating with the rest of the team. |
