The Nigerian government has called for the support of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in providing lasting solutions to the farmers and herdsmen crisis in the country.

The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau disclosed this after a meeting with the President of the ECOWAS commission, Marcel De Souza at the ECOWAS secretariat Abuja.

This is one of the efforts being employed by federal government in tackling herdsmen crisis and to ensure that justice was meted out on the perpetrators.

Dambazau after the meeting told newsmen that the discussion was bordered on regional security as herder/farmers clashes alongside terrorists attacks became worrisome

He called for a ministerial conference of ECOWAS member states in order to come up with a framework that will address the trans-border crimes, which he said had contributed to the conflict.

If this is true, then Almighty God will severely punish and torment Buhari, his family, his advisers and his ministers. You did not seek ECOWAS' support to end IPOB protest, you did not seek any support to end Boko Haram but you can deploy soldiers to contain protests and even during elections, now you are seeking support even when you have not shown readiness to fight the herdsmen. God will bless you with severe and mystery death Buhari.

Catholic bishops on killings by herdsmen: ‘It’s easier to prevent than stop war’

Against the backdrop of incessant killings by herdsmen, the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, CBCN, has warned that Nigerians might resort to self-defence if the Federal Government continued to fail in its responsibility of protecting the citizenry against attacks by Fulani herdsmen.

It noted that Nigeria appeared “to be under siege from many forces, while innocent citizens in different communities throughout the nation are being attacked and their sources of livelihood mindlessly destroyed.”

The position of the bishops was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by its President and Archbishop of Jos, Ignatius Kaigama, and Secretary/Bishop of Gboko, William Avenya; which warned that “it is wiser and easier to prevent a war than to stop it after it has broken out”.

Buhari is buying time and putting up diversionary measure. Buhari is their patron. He doesn't need ECOWAS to get across to his fulani brothers. He know exactly where and how to meet and appease them.
