I already have a video on this.

@ OP If I need this sleeve to be short, just before the elbow, what kind of adjustments do I need to make to this pattern? Also what kind of material is best for this design?

thanks for your reply....is it compulsory to learn how to sew with this patter drafting, cos most tailors around where I live don't use it

A fashion designer is not a 'Magazine style' Crafts Man or Woman. A fashion designer would look at the client and be creative, make a dress that suits the clients body type. What we have all over the place are tailors, if there is passion for this kinda craft then that passion would take you through learning it the right way.

Thumbs up to you OP, I am yet to get around making videos. Whats your take on the Fairgate Fashion Designer carryall case, I am thinking of upgrading to it?

@Rubyventures thanks for your questions.

1 the only adjustment you will need is to fold the pattern to your desired length and cut. Since the ends are right angles, you should have no problem.

2. Any kind of material is good for this design as long as it’s not too hard. The best kind of material is the slippery type.

How much is this?

How much is this?

N53,250.00 - I needed to get a second opinion and have it. I use the same plastic brand you see in the videos uploaded previously, but you know how it can be with plastic.

If not for my embroidery machine and its accessory which I had planned for 1st quarter 2018, I would have included it as well.

If you have got most of those rulers already, I would suggest don't buy it for now, at the end of the day whether it is plastic or metal they do the same job. It all boils down to how you take care of your tools.

You will have to start from the very basics,

Taking measurements then learn how to transfer these figures onto paper to make patterns. If you watch professional designers they always use pattern paper even after that they will draft with muslin before cutting into the final fabric. You will need a lot of patience.
I will suggest you get yourself an exercise book and start from there. You don't need to buy too many materials all you need for now is a tape measure, ruler a good scissors. You can use any paper as your pattern paper. Some people use news paper the only disadvantage is that you can't see you markings clearly.

You will also need marking tools like tailors chalk and a marking pen.
hi but can you use same draft pattern for different body sizes? Since u say draft patterns are reusable

When I said re usable I meant for example if you have a bodice pattern for size 12 . You can use it for anyone that is a size 12. You can’t use it for a size 18. You might be able to use it for one size smaller or bigger by adjusting it a bit. For one size smaller just take off the sewing allowance and for one size bigger double the allowance.

What you do with this kind of design. You use wading, or stay. This can be ironed on to the material to stiffen it. Any kind of material can be used for this design. It depends on the experience of the tailor. For a beginner I would stay away from soft fabrics like silk, satin or chiffon etc

I will share my designs...

I am currently trying to make up my mind on two software that would give me full control of any design pattern to be embroidered. The prizes for the software's no be here. Yet again functionality would be the base of my choice.

I don’t have a studio, all I have is just a small sewing area.

That looks very nice. You can take pictures of the stages to get to the final product.
