Experience? Who experience epp? My secondary/university goalie experience should do. Just need a few weeks to get into tip-top shape.

Too busy to travel for the friendlies though. You will just see me in the WC proper.

Yes you are right but not orange plastic used to wrap lucozade bottle.

It was a plastic designed in different sizes that can be used on black and white TV and it made it looked like watching colour TV,brought to the country then by Chinese people.

But bros u don tey o to know this cos it was in the late 70s and early 80s that the thing was rampant.

true true sir? You were a goal keeper?

Yes, jokes aside, i was actually pretty decent.

I had the same weaknesses of most Nigerian keepers, good shot stopper but terrible with the crosses and other fundamentals.

I could make a world class save one second and drop a cross the next minute. Fun times..

Do you know how many players brought up in UK?

Do you think the ones you see at the top bribed their way through?

Do you think they got to where they are by fluke?

Who are Onyekuru and Simon Moses and where were they when Sheyi Ojo dey play for Liverpool?

Like someone said here that some players found themselves in top clubs by chance and not by crediblity. I just smh.

You are a joker man and know nothing about football ,is it the seyi ojo that played only 8 premier league games in 3 years you are ranting about ? Stop fooling your self I don't argue without facts and it's obvious you know nothing.

What chance someone that started from Liverpool academy, iheanacho is a good example,he had to prove him self at the u17 World Cup before he was bought to the man city youth team, his hard work makes him make the man city senior squad, you are here talking about a seyi ojo that no premier league team considered on loan but a championship team, once again you are a joker and you know nothing about football, even Ruben Loftus cheek of Chelsea who is from their youth will never be loaned to a championship team,if the guy is good he will be in the premier league,he has been loaned to 3 teams and they are all championship team which is Wigan, wolves and Fulham,I don't say what I don't know

Now list the names of Nigeria players born in the U.K that made it to high level? None of the strikers have the record of yakubu aiyegbeni who scored 96 premier league goals, drogba is the only African player to score more premier league goals than aiyegbeni, how far agbonlahor or shola ameobi?

Color TV? Where you go catch the color signals wey NTA only started broadcasting color signals in the early 80s.

The first colored football tournament I watched was Italia 90. The memories of all the ones I watched in the 80s are in Black and white. Hahaha.

Not really... mexico 86, Los angeles olympics 84 were in color.

no he didn't. It was a poor tackle no doubt, but it was a stamp on the ankle, it was a yellow card offence everyday of the week.

The only debateable instance in that match was a penalty Osaze should have been awarded when he was grappled by Evra but such things happen constantly so nothing there.

I mean Dzeko hada perfectly legitimate goal ruled out against us, is that bias against European teams?

Blaise Matuidi deserved to be sent off in the France vs. Nigeria match. The PSG midfielder deserved a straight red card for this brutal challenge on Onazi, but the referee only put his name in the book. The French midfielder went in extremely late and his studs clattered Onazi's ankle, the player then being forced to go off injured. The Nigerian was stretchered off and unable to come back on to continue... From Marca

“Where’s the ball? It’s criminal,” said Diego Maradona, the 1986 World Cup-winning captain of Argentina on Blaise Matuidi's wild tackle on Onazi. “Now I want to see the reaction of Fifa. The reaction of [Pele] and of [Franz] Beckenbauer. You must have a lot of nerve to not see that this is worse than Suarez.”

It was a clear red card. The ref made a mistake there but we can't say if it was an intentional error or not.

That was awful. I missed that tackle and haven’t really watched the replay of that match. That could’ve ended Onazi’s footballing career. I’m glad he came back stronger.

SALISU COMES UNDER FIRE AFTER CHAN OUTING

Idris Adesina
Nigerian coaches Godfrey Esu, Segun Oguns and Kadiri Ikhana have reacted to the performance of the Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf at the just -concluded 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco .
The Eagles finished second at the competition, which ended on February 4, after losing 4 -0 to the hosts in the final .
The Eagles struggled throughout the competition – starting the tournament with a barren draw against Rwanda before 1-0 and 3-1 wins over Libya and Equatorial Guinea respectively to emerge Group C leaders .

They came back from behind to beat Angola 2 -1 in extra time but had goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye , who replaced captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa , to thank for some daring saves , as they beat Sudan 1-0 in the semi-final to reach a first ever CHAN final .
For the final match, Salisu brought on Plateau United winger Peter Eneji for his first match of the tournament but the 19 -year-old lasted 48 minutes on the pitch as he was sent off for a second bookable offence .

Former Sunshine Stars assistant coach Segun Oguns blamed Salisu for not selecting the right players for the competition .
He said, “ This Eagles were poorly coached . Honestly , however bad our league is and poorly financed, that team is not a true reflection of our league .

“ A lot of the players, who played in the 2013 African Cup of Nations under late coach Stephen Keshi were from the domestic league. The like of Fegor Ogude , Godfrey Oboabona , Solomon Kwambe , Azubuike Egwuekwe, Sunday Mba and a host of others were from our league .

“ I believe that Salisu and some other coaches are not qualified enough to handle the Super Eagles . The national team is no child ’s play – it’ s different from coaching a club . The coach’ s performance with the team will now be used to rate other Nigerian coaches – and this is the annoying part of the scenario. ”
Esu agreed with Oguns that the team were not the best the league could offer but believes that the coach should be absolved of the blame for their lacklustre performances at the competition .

“ Apart from the team finishing second in Morocco, I found out that the best players were not taken to the competition . The coach gave a lot of excuses for selecting the players he took to the competition but those players don’t reflect the true state of our league ,” he said.
“ There are better players at Akwa United and some other clubs , who will do better than those who went to Morocco . There are better composed strikers in the league than the ones who were struggling to convert the chances they had. Some of them only showed individual brilliances a few times and they failed to work as a team .

“ But I will not blame the coach for the performance of the team especially in the final . He may have done wrong in selecting the wrong players for the competition but I think he managed what he had to get the result we achieved. The opponents we faced before getting to the final were not as tough as the Moroccans hence we were able to survive. In the final , the team could hardly string five or six passes together while the Moroccans did everything right .
“ Salisu needs to work with other coaches in the league to get the best players for future competitions and ensure that he spends more time observing players in the league. There are more things to work on for the future but I will say the coach tried his best but it just was not enough .”
And former Shooting Stars coach Ikhana said Salisu ’ s tactics were right since he was able to take the team to the final of the tournament .

He said , “The team did not suffer from coaching problems rather they suffered from a complication of other things . The coach was able to employ the right tactics to ensure that his team didn’ t lose any match until they got to the final .

“ The team didn’ t have the best of preparations for the competition . Most of the players were match rusty because the league had ended many months before the competition started . They only played a few friendly matches before they went to Morocco .

“ Although there is no perfect coach anywhere, I think he did well because he was able to manage the team and dish out the right instructions to get them to their first final of the competition .”

Rani Khedira rejected the chance to represent Tunisia in the World cup. The younger brother of Sami Khedira says that he would wait for his chance with Germany.

Reasons
1. He only speaks german. (not french or arabic)
2. He does not want to take opportunities from those who helped the team to qualify.
