@traster, 5 years , federal university of Technology Owerri, IMO state , Nigeria, 3 years working experience, Thank you.

OK great.

Check the website and see their requirements.
There are other related occupations as well but it seems social worker is the only one on the 189 list.
Guess you will have to write your job description to match closely with the JD of a social worker.
Good luck.

Apparently AASW is even saying they are now able to access people with qualifications lower than a degree.
This is good news for those of you who studied 4 years social work related courses in a tier 2 university.

Sorry if i got that part wrong. On the first few pages of this thread, i saw someone post something about an application fee for that covers about 8 stages of assessment. Isn't an application fee charged by the Australian body in charge of immigration?

Yea, you will need to submit some documents for skill assessment. It s around $1000 thereof. What s your occupation?

Thanks brother but my only challenge is that i have just 8 months bank statement ready and this is because i closed my previous account and opened a new one with GTBank eight months ago.Can eight months bank statement and complete payslip work with this?

Talk to GTB if there is a possibility of getting statement for the closed account. You can t be to sure until you approach them.

Otherwise 8months statement will not fly. They will definitely question you and it will delay your processing. Can you get salary tax statement, pension contributions statement. I used those alongside with salary acct statement.

My fellow Nigerians,
I commend everyone for the keen spirit and Goodwill.
One way or the other, you folks have contributed to my success; consciously or otherwise.

This is my 4th Month in Australia as a migrant (189) and I must say it's one of the most thoughtful decisions I have ever made asides getting a spouse.
With the permission of my ogas I would like to drop the full gist/ timeline in the other room.

However, a simple breakdown goes thus:
Arrived Melbourne 10/10/17
Got my Professional job 23/10/17 without aussie local experience/ driver's licence.
Got my first paycheck 08/11/17(the rate is grin)
Currently working in Sydney on a major capital Metro project.
I give God all glory and honour......

PS: for those still wondering and pondering about the distance and uncertainties; a piece of advice mate# " there are no guarantees in life, but if you dare to conquer your fears, you shall excel beyond your imagination".
.

Congratulations on your smooth sail in Australia.
I’m glad you deemed it fit to share your experience. If you don’t mind, please can I send you a direct message to seek some clarifications.
Thank you.

Hi, I did my assessment before finding this group so didn't know about tier 1 or 2 universities. What's on their website is a 4 year university degree so you should go ahead & try your luck. What I do know they are fussy about is Teaching Practice and its duration. I got my TP coordinator to write the letter using the university's letterhead and stamp and it was accepted. This was sent with my IELTS result, certificate and filled registration form via DHL.

Transcript was sent directly to them from unilag.
