I can see you spread polythene sheets over the woods. What's the implication of this? I was told it would make plastering the concrete ceiling difficult, as the polythene will make the bottom surface too smooth for the mortar to stick to.

Due to the dryness in the season we are now, we need to put the polythene sheets under the slab to retain some moisture for a longer period of time inside the slab as it cures. I will also arrange to manually pour water on the drying deck today and for some days this week.

For most things that has an advantage, there might be some small disadvantage. Yes the under surface can be very smooth, but it cannot prevent a good plastering job. Experts in plastering will always find a way to do a good work.

Completion of the decking cast......

We are now taking blocks up on this decking slab to form the last floor. Work resumes again on Monday.

This house will cost about N26-30 million naira for the construction stage stopping at the roofing. (10 flats) I will make out time to summarise the costs as soon as I complete this roofing. Work is still ongoing here today.
