I really do wish that Echiejile is better than he currently is. That defence needs an experienced hand to guide the them.

Idowu is at a good age, 25.. If elderson makes the team, he can give elder's advice from the bench. Pun intended.

But how about Idowu's switch? Has it been formally done?

Rohr should play those guys who performed well against Argentina as in Ebuehi, Idowu, Uzoho in the coming friendlies so we know whether that performance was a fluke or an indication of real quality.

Some of the world's best keepers got their break when they were very young, Courtois, Casillas, De gea etc.. It is sometimes about temperament as well not just age.

It is about the ability to manage the pressure. A keeper can be old and crumble under pressure, Almunia, Akpeyi..

I want to see him in the Polish game and in Wembley. If he can handle the pressure in those game, he will be fine.

Yea, he is still learning but he is at an age where he can still learn. Some of the older keepers can not change established bad habits.

That is where the issue is.

Those keepers you mentioned were already in the Elite leagues at 19. But where is Uzoho?

Don't get me wrong.

I am not saying the boy will never turn out good. What I am saying is he is not tested enough for you guys to be having the kind of confidence you are having in him.

I would have preferred Enyeama coming back but in his absence I will rest my hopes on Uzoho. Fact is if we had someone better in a very clear sense I will rather have that person but somehow that's not the case. I think I Rohr has been proactive in sending the gk trainer to work with Uzoho. That too will help.

finally, what is the connection between these set of keepers plying their trade in Israel, I mean Enyeama to Ejide and Dele. Not until Enyeama left for France and at some point rumors of Wenger interest in him.
Yes the connection between Enyeama,Ejide and Aiyenugba was great.

The relationship between the trio started in Nigeria,Enyeama met Aiyenugba at Enyimba and the friendship kick off. Also Enyeama met Ejide in the national team prior to 2002 WC and their friendship blossom.

I remember Enyeama met Dele at Enyimba after he left Mobil pegasus.Dele was the first choice and in goal when Enyimba played Inter Milan in a friendly in Italy.

Dele had injury and Enyeama replaced him, fortunately for Enyeama he stood in for injured Dele in a match Fanny Amu was sent to watch to discover players for national team and he was highly impressed with Enyeama.

Enyeama got the call and made 2002 WC,after WC automatically he became Enyimba first choice, displaced Dele but Enyeama didn't forget Dele when he left for Isreal.

In Isreal after a season Enyeama moved to a better club in the same league but singlehandedly recommended Dele Aiyenugba to his former club without trial. This showed a great friendship between the two.

Enyeama and Aiyenugba were instrumental to Ejide moved to Isreal from Et du sahel cos of their friendship in national team and it must be noted that the trio were together in super eagles between 2002 -2012 until Dele lost out to Agbim.

The trio were well connected and the bond was damn great even when Enyeama lost to Ejide at 2008 Afcon the atmosphere in camp didn't changed with Vincent and Dele assisting and also when Siasia dropped Enyeama for Dele Aiyenugba, nothing happened.

Hope to see such great trio in future eagles may be Uzoho, Alampasu and Maduka.

Pepe was willing to give him a chance in the first team but he was fired and the new coach went back to the fumbling oldies. Now that coach has also been fired.

What we need to find out is whether Uzoho can cut it, when the pressure is high and the stakes are high.

This is a goodnews for grassroot football development... I remember us discussing something relating to that 1or2years ago.

Mujtahida:
Of goalkeepers let us argue, debate, quarel, accuse each other.
Uzoho, Ezenwa, Akpeyi it is for me and I am at peace.

Joebie I hope you read Rohr’s interview on the BBC. He mentioned the usual suspect.

Allegations Of Age Cheats Trails Recently Released List Of Nigeria U20 Players

The list of players called up to the Nigeria national Under-20 team has generated lot of debates with some players alleged to be beyond the age limit stipulated by FIFA for players at that level.

28 players were called up by coach of the team Paul Aigbogun for the start of preparations ahead of their first qualifiers game for the 2019 Africa U20 ‎Cup of Nations, which will be holding in Niger Republic.

The players were mainly picked from teams in the Nigeria Professional Football League with Nasarawa United having as many as three players in the list released for the start of camping on Sunday 25th of February 2018.

According to some ardent followers of the Nigeria Professional Football League, the list has players who have been around for over six seasons in the league, hence can’t be said to be below the age of 20.

Four players were specifically named and Owngoalnigeria.com is currently making checks on the claims to ascertain if at all they are true, and we will publish our findings in our subsequent reports.

You no longer compare him with the likes of Courtois, casillas and De Gea. It is now about 19 years old African keepers. OK. No wahala.

Pepe was willing to give him a chance. Everything is still "if".

Your last sentence is exactly what he is going to face at the WC . Because the pressure and stakes will be very high from start to finish. Friendlies even are not going to give you such high pressures and stakes. It really takes a matured and experienced goalie or an exceptionally talented active goalie in a top league, to cope when the pressures and stakes are high. Which is why I am saying Rohr should have a rethink about Dele Aiyenugba.

If Uzoho is up to the task, there is no point saving him for experience sake. The big name keepers, i mentioned earlier were very young when they were thrown into league and Champions League games.

Sometimes, it is up to the coach's discretion to decide if this kid is ready.

While I would not want to throw this age cheating allegation under the carpet, I would want us to have it in mind that there is a certain 15 years Nur in Elkanemi who has been around since last year I think. That is just one popular player we know about. Nazifi is another player that has been with Kano Pillars since 15years of age. 5 years time that Nur would still be U20 do we say because he has been around for 6 years he can't be U20? Food for thought.

MFM I know is another club reputed for parading of young players.

By and large, a proper investigation be carried out by the NFF technical committee to clarify these allegations.
