Hello House,
I like to ask this quickly.
Firstly, since the NASU strike is still on and school transcript can't be processed. Is it okay to use a copy of WES evaluated transcript for CIC study permit application??

Secondly, which is preferable to submit as part of application document, bank statement with a closing balance less than 20k or a fixed deposit certificate of that same account showing above 1M rolled over every month?

Lastly, can anyone here take through the steps involved in commencing paper application.

Thank you for all your contributions so far.

Hi chuks,
Please I like to ask, in filling for a paper application, do I sign up first, download the CIC forms or what do I need to do to kick start my application for paper route?

Hi good morning, please I need your help. I graduated with a 2.1 (3.69 Cgpa) I applied for masters in three different universities, last two years I wasn't given so I tried conestoga college. I was given. I went ahead to use maple education agency and I was denied visa on October 2017 for the lack of funds reason. I decided to apply for fall 2018 in three universities; Saskatchewan, Guelph and McGill ( for the second time). I got denied admission for Saskatchewan and Guelph and I've already lost hope for McGill. My question is, do I just apply with my college admission and state I didn't get into university that's why I'm ping for PGD? Cause I don't have much fight left in me. I anticipate your reply. Thank you

I saw someone with a second class lower get admission, you have a better CGPA and can do better all things equal. Try UNBC. And some programs at University of OTtawa are still accepting applications. Chances are you won't get into McGill, but there are second tier and third tier universities I am confident if you write good statements of intent and submit good recommendations, that can give you a spot in their masters program.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Osiokoye: 3:01pm On Mar 01, 2018
I know McGill will be difficult as it is but only 6 Universities in Canada have agricultural related programs and I have already applied to 4 of them with no success. I mailed the graduate program coordinator of UNBC yesterday and they said they're not accepting anymore and they don't even have for winter till fall next year. Ottawa doesn't have any agricultural related programs.

I understand you, thank you. Do you think I should state in my LOE that I've been denied masters that's why I opted for the postgraduate
makano:
Hello, I will advise you apply with your pgd, since its taking forever to get Masters. If u have gone though previous threads u will come across peeps that have gotten their TRV with PGD. A particular person here(I think Part 12 or so) got this TRV with PGD within a month. We have also seen how PHD and Masters applicants have also been denied Visas. So it not about PGD, Masters or PHD, Its how well you present yourself to the VOs through your application. I have 2 friends that got their TRV to this same Conestoga College, they are in Canada as we speak. Please do not get me wrong, I am not trying to discourage you from getting your Masters, all what am trying to say is that you can get your TRV with ur PGD, You just have to submit the required documents and hava a strong SOP to convince the VO that you are a genuine Student. All the best

You should have thought about UNBC earlier. Apply with your PGD acceptance and pray you scale through. And don't relent in your application for a masters program, you will need it to reapply for TRV GOd forbid you are denied based on purpose of visit. Wishing you the best.

You are supposed to submit your police clearance with your application and wait till you are called upon for medicals. Have you submitted your study permit application at all?

Hope you are not trying to do what I am suspecting? Submit only genuine stuff, honesty is the best policy. Schools don't verify bank statements until they notice something amiss. The same applies to embassies. But better to be safe than sorry and incur a 5 year ban.

No jnyuwa02, please its not that at all, i just want to be clear on some stuffs I hear. Please I will like to kindly find out that if a school calls your bank is it what the bank tells them what they believe or they themselves have a way to verify a statement in terms actual existence of the said account and not merely what the bank says? Thank you.

No do not give them or implant into their heads potential grounds to deny you too. Concentrate on showing why you chose to go for a PGD than a masters. You could mentions hands on experience in the agricultural fields that it can give you than a masters that deals mostly with the theoreticals.

Hmnnn why are you concerned what the bank says about an account or its existence or whether the school has a way of verifying independtly what is in the account. Hmnnn, It's either you have money or you don't have money in the bank period. If you do you won't be worried or curious about all these stuff. Schools rarely call bank to verify money in an account. I know in the USA, they dont disclose any such information to them without your express permission due to privacy laws. I don't know about Nigerian banks. Verifying accounts Is mostly and largely the work of an embassy official before they give you visa and they know their ways around this.

Medicals.....police character is optional. Or you could be asked to send any document they feel is necessary

If it is for trv, you don't have to submit your transcript if you have your certificate. Copy of your certificate will do. Best of luck

Hi fam,

Thank you all for helping people like me get answers to what seems difficult. God bless.

Pls I need help again, I have contacted many schools and supervisors for a potential supervision but all has been to nothing. The answer I got from most of them is that they are not ready to take any more student.

So I later had to contact the coordinator of the graduate program I am going for, that I have contacted many supervisors o but no position for me and the message I received from two of the Universities (University of Ottawa, UNB and Windsor) is to apply and they will circulate my application around the department to look for a potential supervisor.

But I am afraid, should I apply to this schools or what should I do? I am thinking what if there is nobody ready to supervise me? Won't that be a waste of money?

Also, please I need a sample of a detailed CV and statement of purpose. I am in the dark and don't even know what it look like.

Thank you!

No, medical examination taken for Canada will not be accepted. USA embassy has its own list of approved physicians.
