Then tell me the keeper that can learn those things ?

Some people will be calling for ajiboye on this thread, maybe they think chan is a world stage, they will still be the ones to blame the ajiboye if he makes a little mistake, make we manage the uzoho wey we get abeg,we are not the team with the worst goal keeper

You've already hug unto some premeditated notions about what you think I'm trying to say.

I pointed those things out to tell us exactly what Francis is deficient, where opposing strikers would definitely exploit.

Seem you are only typing what you have in mind and not responding according to what you're quoting. okay go back to the start of what you quoted to understand.

Why invite new faces if you won't give them space to play or prove themselves?
why use players in positions you have surplus already when other areas are lacking?
shouldn't invitation be for positions you need to fortify?
We have untested players within earth and not from planet mars except you just want to stick to your perspectives and not really ready for a discussion.

And do we have players we can bring from planet mars to solve this problem. Don't think so. Let's hope for the best

Did Rohr bring Joel to compete with Onazi? is our problem that of DM?

edi287:

Because as a CM, he is better on the ball than Onazi. That is the truth. He had a bad game. Just like Nacho, Shehu, etc did.
If Rohr doesn't invite him again, that's cool. But using these 2 games to say Onazi is better is just funny.

Statistically speaking present and continuous and on current form. He is better than KC and Ighalo. Or will you will say Ajayi is better than him

In the same vein will you say Defoe, Klos, Ronaldo C., Robben, D.Alves, Iniesta, Mascherano, Llorente, Antonio Valencia, etc, etc using your yard stick and
according to you thier time is past.

Outside of Mikel Obi nobody in the current set up is as technically astute and skillful as Aluko. Voted best midfielder in the Championship last season.

Best midfielder? Was Aluko in the championship team of the season that year?

They are common to me and football is logic. it's science and has gone beyond emotion. you can beat the best on paper if you have a better scientific approach to the match. a pack of sheep led by a lion can defeat the reverse.

We have seen countries/clubs with less quality players winning tournaments and they aren't one off, this happen yearly all over the world. so there is nothing uncommon here.

Oya Egbon... Now let us reason this thing together.

You see this Kelechi Nwakali.... He made 9 eredivisie appearances mostly from the bench for VVV Venlo and even registered a goal from the LW role... He played the other eight games as AM (4), CM (1), and RW (3). His last game in the dutch topflight was against heerenven as an AM. He featured for 67 mins or so.

Now back at MVV in the dutch second division, he had played 10 games all as an AM and in his last four games, he had bagged three goals. He had 4 goals 1 assist in 10 games as a CAM. The last of his strikes came just this past weekend on Friday the 23rd (on the second day of the international break). I have watched those games and Kelechi Nwakali is showing great growth and form for MVV in that AM role. The way he dictates play and bosses games show talents beyond his years. He may be in with a chance to return to Arsenal for preseason and given a chance to show himself after this season is over. That is the latest on him that I gathered on his Arsenal chances.

Now I am not saying "oya give him automatic invite then..".... Nope and Nope. But I want you to really look unbiased at Kelechi's case and understand that what we need is to try the best available talents for the role. This can be done Post-Russia.

Now this takes me further to what I mean by " best available talents in the CAM role"

Another option is Abdul Ajagun.... (Come on Close your teeth.. And listen carefully grin )

Now, Abdul Ajagun proved himself in the dutch topflight and now he is doing his thing in the Belgian league for KV Kortrijk.

With 8 goals 3 or 4 assists I think in both the Jupiler league and in the Belgian Cup all scored when he played as an AM, he seems to have really shown he is capable of doing the goods in that role. He is another talented available option who can be looked at. He also plays DM, CM, and RM but he strives better as a CAM. He and Kelechi Nwakali, I have both watched and feel they can be brought in and looked at by the coach... Plus they are available.

Josh Onomah... Now this lad is one but the question is. Is he available for us? With him, we have to first approach him and convince him to come play for us. And we may have to wait for an answer for a couple of months. He is another option we can surely explore okay but until then, let us focus on the top quality options we do have that we feel can take over in the long run from Mikel... "K.Nwakali or Ajagun for a start". There is still Ovie Ejaria but I reckon he is behind K.Nwakali and Ajagun for now and Ajagun is ahead of both of them in terms of exposure at the top level.

Onomah have played 28 games for Aston Villa fc in the English Championship (17 starts and 11 sub roles) and scored 4 goals and given 1 assist all as an AM. He had featured in a few other roles as LM (3) but mainly as the AM.

Within the Super Eagles current Squad, the closest that can come to playing the CAM role is Alex Iwobi. And I hope he can be that option for the role in Russia when Mikel is take off with A Simon Moses coming in to take over his wing role. And also we must ne mindful of moving Alex Iwobi to that CAM role coz you get the best out of him there when he is surrounded by players that understand his style like Kelechi Iheanacho and Victor Moses. Alex's synergy with Iheanacho especially is key.

So my simple thought on this is simple... We don't have much time before Russia to integrate another. Let us go with Alex Iwobi as the temporary option to stand in for Mikel. And the coach must widely ensure that the team has on field the players that will make Alex's gifted class from the CAM role flow endlessly. Players like Iheanacho and Victor Moses who will bring out the devastating flow of soccer that will make you all see why Iwobi is Magic.

On Ajagun, I will love to see him now but I don't know if Rohr will look his way until Post-Russia. And the time is also short too.

On Onomah.. Let us first approach him then.

On Kelechi Nwakali... I maintain that in this lad I see the future of our CAM role which is why I say we defy logic and place him on our team's radar for early integration into the team. He really oozes class. Egbon Forgiveness... Please... For once just take your time and watch this lad and tell me what you think of him based on his technical abilities. No dey always talk of "prove yourself" afterall Iwobi never prove himself like that before Oliseh give am invite naa abi...

On Ovie Ejaria... With time, his time will also come.

See ehn.... This 2-0 loss is good. We were without Mikel, Balogun, Victor Moses (for the second half), Kelechi Iheanacho (still our best goal threat), and Etebo (who could have come in as an impact sub). Ebuehi too was not 100% fit so he struggled no doubt.

This is not the time for wild reactive names-calling to come salvage the team. We have to be wise and mindful of the team's synergy and growing cohesion... We cannot just make drastic changes because of this loss especially when those being called for are not exactly on a better level than what we have. Cyriel Dessers for instance is not better than Ighalo right now... You can take that from me. I have seen him play. Also, he won't find it so way blending with Iwobi or Victor Moses upfront... A team strives on understanding and Synergy.

Let us be careful and address the main issue which is our CAM... We all saw what a Mikel-Iwobi-Iheanacho combo did to Argentina... There was no Victor Moses there at all... We must be mindful of our best and our strengths and build on that.

I could say more and there are so many angles to be addressed but I choose to stick with the positives and the fact that we had Four key players missing against Serbia. Serbia was at full strength with Tadic, Matic, Kostic and all... That first XI was solid. I said this earlier and I said it even before the match kicked off.

This CAM is my biggest concern.... And I have just given yiy my thoughts. Egbon... Reason this matter with me. I respect your views because I realised you are true fan who just has his own controversial way of showing support for the team... This is why I indulge you. And me too I want the best... So reason this matter wella. Thanks for the read. wink

What has Kelechi Nwakali achieved in the Eredivise second division? Remember, He was benched in Eredivise.

For now, he is not hte solution. Maybe in the nearest future after he must have proven himself.

And for all of Okocha's influence, we never won the AFCON with him as the leader in the midfield (in 1994, Okocha was no leader in that midfield but a key young player who Westerhoff could bench sef. That team had Oliseh and Oliha too). But we win the AFCON with Mikel as undisputed leader in the middle. Mikel is in every way as super influential in this team as Okocha was in the 2000s. That is the truth.

Do you choose not to understand or you can't comprehend things easily, I said the fan cry on Mikel is too much and his influence to the team is not upto Okocha when he was in the team and we still lost some games.

On Okocha influence on the winning team, bros he takes most of the set piece even at young age, even the fans sings with his name...you can't compare Okocha influence to Mikel...though is not the argument for the day

I would not say so.

With these two friendlies, we have seen Uzoho against other opponents and have moved on from his 45-mins show against Argentina which was the only Uzoho song we sang. And so far the Uzoho I saw is going to get better before May and even before the Wembley game.

Good reflexes, quick off his lines to snuff out danger and cliam the ball off Kostic's quick feet, good sweeping skills, fine ball grip, knows how to get down well for a one on one... I say these two friendlies did him a world of good.

And these two friendlies also showed us that Joel cannot step into Mikel's shoes in the CAM role. Yes he is not a CAM... But a CDM...or more precisely a CM but he was touted here among us to be the answer to the Mikel role.
Well, these two friendlies showed he is not. We should be looking at Iwobi.

forgiveness:

Exactly, Rohr wasted 2 friendlies.

Ighalo is the only forward that offers any hold up play upfront..playing with Iheanacho means no proper holdup play..it would be hard playing nacho as the lone forward..he doesn't play well as the only striker..

Ighalo is not clinical but I'm just hoping he hits form b4 the world cup..

I doubt Echiejile can do any better than idowu..idowu was more energetic in the left back position, he just doesn't know how to take on players..I watched all our WCQ games again and I can tell you, echiejile would be exploited to the fullest by the Europeans..he plays like an old man now, no energy left..he offers nothing going forward..his pace defending would be a liability, now add Balogon to the mix..

I think our passing game has a chance when Mikel gets back so we could fully exploit our energetic fullbacks..
Nice post but I don't agree with where you said Ighalo wasn't clinical, as if he got chances in that match. Even Lewandowski will look ordinary in that match with an empty midfield and no supporter.

Listen up... When next you quote me. Never address me with the bolded aiit. Coz if I do same to you, you will cry foul.

And I addressed a simple comment you made. You said Mikel's influence in this current team is not up to Okocha's in his own time. And I simply gave you an instance to show his influence.

The cult figure Okocha was in Hus days as the team's boss is exactly the same as Mikel's today. Even at the Olympics we saw it in another dimension. So what are you even saying? As if We never lost games too with Okocha.

Okocha in 1994 was benched too Mister. Go figure. He was not the overriding factor or among the top three super class factors in that nations Cup win.

But Mikel in 2013 was lord of that Nigerian side. #Fact

The game was interesting when compared to the polish game, it's a game I can watch again.

- Uzoho wasn't as vocal as he was in the game against Poland. Hey had a good game and definitely our number 1 when we make it to Russia.

- Ebuehi had a fair game, I think the Serbs tactic was to drag him out of position a couple of times and they succeeded, Ekong came to his rescue many times than one. He's definitely better than his game yesterday, let's see him when he's 100% fit. I wanted Rohr to bring in Aina for him at half time. Would still choose him ahead of Shehu.

- Awaziem was okay, I liked some of his forward passes, in him we have a defender who'd last for the next 10 years, I see him improving on his play with more game time.

- Idowu had a fair game, his wing wasn't exploited as much as Ebuehi's. Better than Echiejile.

- Musa was totally useless on the pitch, leaving him on the pitch at the expense of Victor was a wrong call by Rohr.

- If we need a Mikel for Joel Obi to be his best then we don't really need him, I thought his addition was to deputize for Mikel at the AMF role.

- Iwobi should still maintain playing on the wings but going forward I'd like him to play more like an inside winger, drifting into the midfield from the wing just like Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez.

- Ighalo's introduction brought a bit of urgency to the attack, but didn't do much to get a goal for himself.

- Ndidi, I saw him at the final third tryna add a bit of flair to the attack, he had a good game as well.

- As for Rohr, I'm so pissed at him, what the heck are friendlies for if not for accessing members of your squad? I expected changes to come earlier in the game.

Is Agbo a terrible player? Anyone who's watched him play would tell you no, then what's the problem? Agu made it to the team few days ago and he gets to play?

Above all, the game was entertaining, at least the Serbs made it so?
