Aluko voted best midfielder in the Championship last season.

Obagoal has better statistics than both KC and Ighalo.

So how do you determine best what you did 2 years ago.

I was just about to drop the names myself.... cheesy

But like I always say... I wait still Rohr releases his official provisional squad of 30 or so players.

@bolded.... We won't take five fullbacks to the mundial. And Awaziem will make it because we cannot just have three CBs too. We will surely 3-5-2 at the world cup in some games so three CBs won't happen.. It would be four.

And uhmmm... I don't see Joel Obi on your list... wink

Did you intentionally exclude Obafemi Martins who came in with one leg to score a goal that qualified us for the 2010 world cup? undecided

Now, that is quality player.
Habaaa intentionally? how can I intentionally exclude what I am not aware of?

My bad, i thought they didn't qualify, i apologize for that.

Meaning if we meet them in the WC proper, we might still get beaten?

Nah, he's human and can have bad days but i don't get why people are making excuses for him like he's immune to bad games.

edi287:

I don't know about Ebuehi. Are you guys saying players aren't entitled to have bad games?? Ebuehi has been great but after one bad game he isn't good enough. Let's rule out both him and Shehu then and go for Aina

Sir did you know what brought up the discussion,Ebuehi is the best RB and i said NO with performance so far i will give it to Shehu but another point he is not fit and i said he had 90 minutes.

Sir why always double standard in analysing our players, some can defend FB to a fault and some see nothing good in homegrown.

Am not for Shehu or Ebuehi cos have past the mediocre analysis based on love for players, have seen different generations of eagles,so nothing new again than to relax and enjoy the game.
In this instance there is no double standard. We are not measuring accurately if you want to use the performance of Shehu in matches he was fully fit to compare with Ebuehi in a match Ebuehi was not fully fit. Drawing your attention to that has now become double standard? How? Tbaba1234 calls it false equivalency.

Compare a fit Shehu with a fit Ebuehi. Whoever comes on top takes the spot. Not that for the sake of critiquing the boy you totally overlook his fitness issues. That's why I said that one can say he underperformed but if that person ignores his fitness issues then I don't think that's balanced criticism.

If the boy was fully fit and his performance was below par then you can talk of double standards. You are still overlooking a crucial point which is that he lacked full fitness. Yes, He played for 90 minutes. How does that change the fact that he lacked full fitness? Who would have subbed him? Shehu who had injury? Aina who was already subbed for Idowu? I like looking at things from broad angles.

This can easily be misread as defence of the young man but to close one's eyes to the glaring fact that he was not fully fit is to level criticism that - in my opinion - is unfair.

He didn't play well. He was not fully fit. That is balanced criticism in the context of the match.

People have used the word hypocrisy and double standard when certain players are asked for.

But thier own words condemn themselves.

The basis for selection can only be consistent quality performances in your club not past glories.

This is what some peeps here don't want to understand but they want to force some certain players with no performance for club on us.

Saw the last 15minutes of last nights game and to say i wasnt disappointed is me lying to myself.
We cant hold the ball to save our lives, we cant string together two-three passes, there wasnt any connect between defence-midfield-attack.

Rohr should sort out the midfield ASAP and choose his best formation.
We need a striker biko, if Rohr needs a striker to hold the ball and bring others to play then i prefer Ideye to Ighalo in that role biko.

Statistically speaking present and continuous and on current form. He is better than KC and Ighalo. Or will you will say Ajayi is better than him

In the same vein will you say Defoe, Klos, Ronaldo C., Robben, D.Alves, Iniesta, Mascherano, Llorente, Antonio Valencia, etc, etc using your yard stick and
according to you thier time is past.

Outside of Mikel Obi nobody in the current set up is as technically astute and skillful as Aluko. Voted best midfielder in the Championship last season.

Abeg, leave that boy.

Friendly matches are suppose to be an avenue to test new players and possibly carry out a substitution by elimination approach to games but I observed yesterday Rohr was playing to win by bringing in players he would have put earlier on to assess late. we all know how iwobi, ighalo, Ndidi, musa or Moses play and we wanted to see Gabriel, Ajayi, Stephen Eze, etc so they can be verified if some of them can even perform better than the main 11. How are we sure if given enough chance an Ajayi wouldn't do better than an Ighalo who always needs 100 chances created before he can score one goal? You don't aim to win all your friendly matches by using 70 or 80 percent of your starting 11. since we know your first 11, experiment on new players to see if there's anyone that will perform better than the regular so you can draft in such a player into your first team while you drop those who are complacent to the bench.

Abeg go and find out about their FIFA ranking and compare with that of Super Eagles then you'd know who is common. Step out of your box.

You think Serbia is common because you are most likely unaware of their history. Croatia, Serbia Bosnia are break away nations from the former Yugoslavia. Unless you are unaware of Yugoslavia I'm sure you won't call them common. These three nations carry that history and heritage.

Prove what?I have put information out but instead of you to confirm or negative the information, you are asking me to prove it when you have not even moved a finger to find out if what I said is true or not. Abeg go do research since you seem not to know about Keshi playing with when not fully fit or Zidane and Beckham in 2000 . Google is there. Make good use of it. kennysville has backed up my assertion on Oliseh by referring to an interview Oliseh granted. Abi you did not read forgiveness mentioning Obagoal coming in limping and scoring a goal? Abeg I don't have time for argument.

Even the ebuehi is yet to convince many of us that he is better than Shehu. Ogu has been tested right from the days of coach Stephen keshi. Okay?

So you will now stop trying out players especially in a friendly that is still at least three months to the WC because according to you Obi was a flop, Agbo shouldn't be tested? Cos that in essence is what you are saying. Still having your eyes fixed on the first eleven. Look beyond the first eleven and things will sink into your mind.
