Ijebu woman grin using butter to cook for lo isn't a must other alternatives like pure coconut oil and olive oil can be used to fry or cook his food.

Or you get stock from live chicken not frozen cos of preservatives, the fat/oil in it is equally good.

I use chicken fish or beef stock for Ekenes noodles, rice and porridge.

Butter is when available.
Exactly what I have in mind.

Good day mamas. Let me rant.

Have had it up to my throat.. Am I the only one going through post partum depression? Why are in-laws so opinionated... Why?! Why?!! Things are not the same..not jealous but everyone that calls or comes around asks only about baby.. They be like "how's your baby?" , "how's baby doing?", " is baby sleeping?", "has the baby taken his bath?"(forgetting its just me doing everything. Mother couldn't stay bcus of her business,
so I learnt what she taught and took from there. Sigh ),. In-laws comes around everyday bcus they live close by.. They comes to see if baby is bathed early and not late forgetting I'll need to sleep that morning bcus baby disturbs every night. So I used early mornings to sleep and get up like 8 to do chores and eat before bathing baby by 10am. But in-laws as always judgmental as they are would come earlier to see if I have and if I havnt they begin to judge their heads. Its not their fault. How can one get over such. Hubby goes to work early in the mornings of which I have to prepare his lunch for him before going back to bed. Can't continue, so much to talk..... I'm just wondering if am the only one? Any ways baby would be 3months soon and he'll be going to church this Sunday.. Thank God! Its been one hell of a three months.. From going through hot water section after delivery, heat, sleeping without fan and light bcus of baby...(I almost died.. If that's the definition of omugwo I'm never doing again). In all I Thank God for myself, my baby and hubby.

Besides all that, what is the effect of taking carbonated drinks as a breastfeeding mother to her baby?

Mama pls expose your baby to an open ventilated places. Trust me...this is caused by heat. My baby experienced same at his 2 weeks bcus inlaws bundled my baby with headwarmer, tight thick cloth with socks, covered him with shawl and put inside a mosquito net room with windows closed.(I almost died but I couldnt talk). So all that made me to leave the place quickly to my own place to single handedly take Care of my child. I got tributan and used it as his only cream without powder for two weeks and exposed him to air.. Within that 2 weeks I loved and appreciate my baby's skin. You need to be patient too to see results.

Thanks queensnow and imurboss my children finally got the rota immunisation at oloja health center shomolu yesterday, your response to my frequent questions really helped.

Mamas please since DS spat out the vaccine though not all will it still work? The nurse was just shouting (one of the reasons why I don't like health centers) and telling me I wasted their money like it's hers I felt really bad.
Then since yesterday their poo has been smelling sour kind of and it's more frequent, could it be the vaccine that caused it?

Motherhood is one tedious job I swear.

HolySteph please don't allow depression get you cos its very difficult to come out of it, just do what you can and ignore any negative comment from your in-laws.

Don't see how much harm carbonated drink drank by you can do to your baby! Unless you take it everyday which isn't heathy to any body nursing or not.

I think these are OBO/OBE rashes and it happened to my son severally before he was 1 year. I was given some antibiotics to administer to him and it will leave and after sometime, it will resurface. Even when people talked about the Yoruba women drugs that cures it, I tried it and it still returned after some while but after some time, i noticed it never returned again after series of antibiotics. So, I just think you should go to his Pead or go to a pharmacy and they will give you some antibiotics that will help clear it.
Also air his body oh

HolySteph, nne pls calm down ooh. Igbos will say nwa mgbe nta. Some inlaws can be very judgemental. When i had my first baby, MIL will show me cobweb on fan, at d same time showing me a loosened thread on the throw pillow. She wil show me hubby's dirty clothes in the basket meanwhile hubby does his laundry by himself even till date. My baby was a crybaby the 1st 3 months of life and was very colicky. I almost went mental. At a point i ignored and did things my way and at my pace. Fast forward to now with 4 children, she hails me and call me agu nwanyi. So ignore them and refuse to be stampeded. Adapting to motherhood is a huge stress most especially as a FTM, so overwhelming or is it adapting to lack of sleep on days straight, so dont allow anybody make you feel inadequate.
Dont worry before you know it, this phase will pass.

Hi Steph, being a new mom is quite overwhelming not just as a FTM but even for a 3rd time mom. There's so much to do and going through so much emotionally and physically. Do you think you can get help from maybe a sister or a friend(trusted friend). What you need is a few minutes to yourself. I have discovered that even 30mins of "me time" helps alot. As for your inlaws pls just ignore. Do things at your own pace, you are not superwoman. Try to create even if its 30mins to relax your head, just you by yourself. If you have no help, i suggest when your husband gets back, leave him with the baby for sometime, even if its a long warm shower. It helps calm the nerves. You cannot coman die oh.
I don't even understand this our culture, inlaws that pop in anytime they like to check baby. Gaskiya i won't open door oh, i will form i did not hear, we were sleeping. I am not teaching you bad thing ooh grin grin lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Mamas thank you all for your responses as regards my previous questions. Would have mentioned/ quoted all of you but lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Now i need help. My ds still refused breastfeeding but takes expressed milk like a pro with bottle, so I'm thinking i should just get an electric pump and feed him while trying ro establish a good latch. I got a manual pump but that's harddd and i combine with formular. I know with electric i can manage to go exclusive.

So pls i need recommendations for an affordable and EFFICIENT pump. The ones you have personally used and can vouch for. Thank you mamas.

Bloomingbud It will work, besides there's still the second dose at 10 weeks. Yes rota causes a bit of loose poo (at least it did for me) it should stop within 24 hours sha

Holysteph me I will form sleeping and not open door. Tell hubs when he's going to work that you want to switch off your phone and rest. So in case they call him he can confirm why your phone is off. Don't let anybody stress you abeg. As for carbonated drinks, in moderation is fine

Babe17 I started at 10 months, but some start earlier (anytime from 7-cool. Start with biscuits that aren't sweet like coaster or crackers

rvpbae good electric pumps are not cheap. However a mid range one that works is Lansinoh, Enque used it, she can give more info
