akanbijm: They consider age only insofar as determining who is a genuine student and who simply wants to effectuate escape from Nigeria using study route as an avenue. If you can prove your seriousness with learning, shouldn’t be a problem. You can do this if there is evidence of courses taken all 10 years you have been working or if none, you give them serious reason why you are going back to school at this age. Good luck! 1 Like |

HerMoney: Hi, If the transcript is for TRV application, the 2014 copy will work. The signed and stamped copy is an unofficial copy of your transcript. If an official transcript was requested by the college, 2014 won't work. As its an unofficial copy. Official copy is strictly sent by your university to the college. Best wishes |

@Frankrobbn1 I Guru, I am a newbie on this thread but after reading some of you comments, I realise you could be of good help to me. I have a B.Sc in Social Work and Community Development with 2:1and I applied for a PGD in a related Field. I Got an Offer Letter last week for the 12 month program which cost less than $3000 CAD, however the living expenses and accommodation for the duration cost almost $13,000CAD. I am planning to submit my application before the mid of April but I my having problems concerning sponsorship based on what I have been reading here. Though I have roughly 2M in my account and presently talking to 2 sponsors. The first one is my dad's friend who is buoyant also a Chairman of a reputable company and ready foot my bills and as well give one of his personal personal account worth over 15M and his company's CAC while the second sponsor is my paternal Uncle and also a Director in Federal ministry. He offered to give me his salary account with an available balance of 2.5M. Not forgetting the fact that I am married with a kid but I am less than 30years. My question are below: × Can I use 2 sponsors ? × Since I dont have a family tide with the first sponsor, what can I do to convince the VO? × What else should my Second sponsor provide to prove our family tide? × Would my wife and kid be enough prove for family tide? |

Dolarman:Dolarman, Welcome to the forum. Answer 1-) You can use two sponsors for your visa application, one as the main sponsor and the other as a co-sponsor. Each of them must show commitment towards financing your studies in Canada i.e either by paying tuition or transferring funds into your personal/dorm account. Answer 2-) Since you don't have proof of relationship with your first sponsor, you can as well provide proof of previous financial support from him in the past, maybe like payment of tuition in the past, transfers of funds b/w both accounts in the past to show a trace of his previous support to you. If you're unable to get the above mentioned. Get him to pay for tuition fee and provide proof of tuition receipts. Lastly, both sponsors should present a rational letter of support stating why they are sponsoring you since it's a third party sponsor and it will be cheaper for them in Nigeria, what you have done to receive such offer from them, the number of dependants they have and must certify the visa officer that while financing your studies in Canada all financial obligations must be meet, i.e sponsporing you won't tend to be a burden to their personal life, business and immediate family, what they stand to gain in this sponsporship should be emphasized on their letters of support. 3-) To your paternal uncle, you can add both your father birth certificates and your uncle birth certificate to evident that they both are from the same family and are biological brothers. 4-) Your spouse and kids are strong and credible ties to your application, as you can't afford to leave them without coming back to Nigeria after your studies. So, Declare your marriage certificate and kids birth certificates. Finally, a year program for PGD is always tough to scale through, but never said its impossible. You must therefore, put up a convincing facts to why you're going for a year program in Canada. Why can't you undertake this program here in Nigeria, let them know the benefits of undertaking a foreign education and how it will be of paramount benefit to your career prospects back home and to your nation at large. Why are you spending so much on 1 year, since you can undergo it here in Nigeria. Why I'm saying all this? This is because, due to the recent denials and Gcms notes I have seen, I noticed that applicants that are going for a year program in Canada is believed by a Visa officer that most applicants are not a bona-fide student, and they are using study permit as a means to facilitate entry into Canada and won't leave after their authorized stay. So you should be skeptical about this and defend this fact, that you're truly a genuine student and have strong ties to Nigeria (your spouse and kids), with strong career prospects/benefits back home. As for the 2M in your personal statement, add it up to your application in support of your application. Finally, I advise you apply for a 2 year masters degree that is relevant to your previous studies/job role, since you have a good cgpa 2.1 All the best! 5 Likes |

QUEENBIZ:QUEENBIZ, Certainly, A year program for PGD is always tough to scale through, but I never said its impossible. Please I need more light on this my issues great gurus of this house.. Hello house, i have been a silent reader on this forum, and i must say this forum is one of the best i have ever belong to. Gurus in the house i need help from you all, i graduated from production Engineering department from a nigerian university in 2016, and finished my NYSC in december 2017 which was last year, applied for a course at brandon University canada which is Applied Disaster and Emergency studies, and i was given admission at the university, actually they offered me admission as a second degree student, meaning i am going to finish the degree in 2 years or 2.5 years and not 4 years.. i want to know if i should go ahead and apply, as am thinking they might delay my visa because it is another under graduate, but am not doing it for 4 years, rather am doing it for 2 years due to prior learning and the university recognized my first degree.i cant do a masters because i graduated with a 2:2 and i dont want a PGD because it difficult getting a PGD in that course, and Brandon University is the first and only university offering that course in canada, and no nigerian university offers applied disaster and emergency studies, except similar courses like disaster and risk management and co., i heard they dont grant visa to those who have undergraduate degree before. please house what advise can you give me, as my biological brother is my sponsor and he is an Assistant professor at a University in USA and my mom the co sponsor. please help me house. |

Please do Canadian embassy consider age before granting visa? I am at my early 40s and I am planning to apply for a study visa through CANADIAN CPA which is a Professional program for Accountants in Canada. I have more than 10 years experience as an Accountant in Nigeria. Do I have a chance of securing the visa. Please advise? They consider age only insofar as determining who is a genuine student and who simply wants to effectuate escape from Nigeria using study route as an avenue. If you can prove your seriousness with learning, shouldn’t be a problem. You can do this if there is evidence of courses taken all 10 years you have been working or if none, you give them serious reason why you are going back to school at this age. Good luck! andre99: I just finished medicals at their request. I talked to my school last week at the same time and they told me they just received and responded to a message coming from the Canada embassy asking whether my LOA and full scholarship offer from the school is authentic. Lol, who makes up those? So I am suspecting they are conducting an investigation on me. I also have an immigration history of 20 years of having lived and worked in the United States legally. They have that record to comb through in determining my admissibility to Canada. I am not scared. I know I will get my visa, only a matter of time. All cases are not the same. Some don’t meet to the regular processing timeline. Some take 3 days. Some take one year. I got plenty of time and comfortable waiting. I am to resume USASK fall 2018. Before then, I will be here unleashing advice. 4 Likes |

Lemia: Congrats bro. Since your means of support consists scholarship and TA and RA, you need to really be careful. The advice to get an additional sponsor is a very good one you should take to heart. We have seen many with full funding consisting scholarship, TA and RA denied on the grounds of “lacking sufficient funds without taking employment in Canada.” Also, work on showing tangible employment prospect in Nigeria that would induce your return. Your small scale photography for example, do you have a history of business transaction, CAC certificate, tax clearance? It would make it easily beleivable the claim that you would come back to Nigeria to be an entrepreneur. What made you want to become an educator? Do you have a history of been involved in educational causes in Nigeria? You need to cover these grounds!! Best wishes bro!! 1 Like |
