Guys in my admission letter( acceptance letter). from Manitoba university undergraduate . the school only wrote the tuition fee for one year they did not write fees for room and board

In my study permit form I have already submitted ,under room and board section I did not put any money under room and board because it wasn't in my admission letter . but under funds available for stay I put slightly above the money required by CIC (10k and above). Did i make a mistake?

Some schools do that, specify only tuition fees on the IRCC forms they send you to apply for visa. Don’t worry too much. Fill out a new form, just that page where you made a mistake. Since the school left it blank, normally what CIC does is compute amount for room and board to their expected average of 10k yearly as expected room and board. They will then look at your sponsor’s declaration and bank statement to determine if he has enough amount to support you for your entire stay. To fulfill all righteousness, you need to amend the error and send to Accra via email. Tell them you made a mistake and wish for the amended form to supersede the previously submitted one. Put 10k in the area you left blank and add tuition plus miscellaneous expenses (1k or 2k for books, health insurance, student body fees, etc). So total available for your stay=Tuition+Room and Board and others.

Best wishes!!

Hello @Austinpee4

I really appreciate your kind words of encouragement and support. Thank you.

I have actually been following this thread for a long time. I read the whole of part 12 and 13 and contributed to the thread as well. That's how I went about compiling an application as decent as this (though not perfect).

I hope and pray the visa officer handling my application sees to be as convincing as you see it.

Though I feel I crafted a great SOP, I would be very glad if I could still get your input regarding my SOP as there's always room for improvement.

Thanks again boss!

You have done the best you could do. Obviously, you read and understood how to package a good application and most importantly, showing inclinations towards your interest, passion and achievements.

In positivism, i look forward to the outcome of your application and in due time, we all will celebrate with you. Feel welcome to send me a PM for your SOP. I'll go through it and revert back to you.

Regards.

Thank you very much Sir,
I get your message about the SAT but if I may ask how then can I handle the gap of my last refusal till date...since am not gonna reveal my HND or present any any result of a recently taken examination vquote author=Frankrobbn1 post=66266667]
Kemdy97,

Ask your self does SAT take one year to be completed? Applicants prepare for their SAT exams within a month and come out with good grades. Why is yours taking 12 months to be completed? If you believe that the SAT has alot to do with your application, you can go ahead. But I don't see reasons with it since school/embassy don't require it. Its left for you, if you decide to use it as a way to address your study gaps. Fine!!!!

Also, there is no need adding your HND admission, as the Visa officer will question why you never wanted to finish up your studies here in Nigeria and go for a higher studies in Canada (PGD) in future. So be silent about it.[/quote]

Hello,

I am pleased to inform you that the Department of Educational Administration has recommended your application for conditional admission to the College of Graduate Studies and Research to our Graduate Degree program, start date of September 2018.

Please note that you are being accepted as a course-based student although you applied as a thesis-based student. The admissions committee decided that you will have the opportunity to transfer into the thesis route after 3 courses, as they were unsure of your research skills. This is a frequent occurrence during admissions for our department and does not affect your good standing in our department.

To fulfill the conditions of your admission, you must arrange for an original set of your transcripts to the College of Graduate Studies, as we only have a copy and the College of Graduate Studies requires a full original set.

Your application will now be sent to the College of Graduate Studies for their final consideration. When Graduate Studies approves our recommendation for admission you will receive a congratulatory email, with letter to follow, from the Director of Programs. The email will explain the procedure regarding your acceptance for the offer of admission, and on how to arrange sending the set of transcripts to them.

The process of your acceptance is underway. Congratulations!

Regards,

Hello

Congrats on your acceptance.

From what I know, you've been accepted into a course based program as opposed to the research based program you applied for.

Course based programs usually don't have funding hence you'll most likely have to pay your fees yourself. At least for the period before you switch to research.

If I may ask, did your department require you to secure a supervisor first before applying for the research based program? If yes, did you secure any supervisor?

Okay,

It seems to me then that they were not certain about your research potential.

Good luck

Congrats!! You have been accepted into a course based program. Usually less intense and tasking than a thesis based program that demands tedious research experience and skills. Course based programs also qualify for some or same of the same funding as thesis based programs. Depends on the school. At some schools, no funding for course based programs.

Most likely the school of graduate studies( the School) will agree with the recommendation of your department. Graduate admissions is a two pronged process of the department making a recommendation and the higher power in the committee of the school of graduate studies accepting or declining the recommendation. Your admission then becomes official when the School makes its decision to agree with the academic unit’s recommendation. Then you have to send your official transcripts directly from your university bearing the official city postal appendage that your school is located in. Do not try and collect the transcript in a sealed envelope and mail it yourself like some people on this forum usually do. It likely would be rejected if you do that. Have your university mail the transcript themselves directly to the school in Canada. Then an unconditional letter of acceptance will go out and you may then apply for your visa to leave to Canada if you are successful. Exciting stuff. Wishing you the very best!!

Start making arrangements to send to the address that will be provided to you when CGPS approves the recommendation. Chances are pretty high that recommendation will be approved. Takes about 2-3 weeks after recommendation is made for you to get that final nod or green light from CGPS.

So is it next to impossible for any 3rd class graduate to go for any degree of education in canada.

Got my gcms note..spouse open work permit..I have posted this on work permit tread as well.....please guys help

Apparently the vo is saying because of my occupation I can not work immidiately on arrival, that I have no western travel and my kids too have no western travel, that funds are modest, that we should note that the current low income cut off is 44,000$ for a family of 4 in Canada, and that flight ticket for 3 is 6000$ and that when you remove flight ticket from our 18000$ there would be dramatic reduction in our resources. He also spoke about a recent lumpsum without proper explanation.

Meanwhile from the letter I got from vfs they thicked
Travel history
Lenght of proposed stay
Purpose of visit
Personal asset and financial status

Please elders in the house I need your help as to how to tackle this. Travel history and financial status.
I have been to 3 African countries.

Try and apply alone leaving your family in Nigeria as home ties. It might solve the puzzle. You can work later on having your family rejoin you.

Not any degree. Try sports administration. But that is a no go area with the Vos. Personally, I have never seen anyone with third class offered admission into any masters program, period. Maybe others have seen?

I can look at your SOP. But understand this is a high privilege I do not grant as I am very busy with job and have little time to spare than answering questions here. I am just dishing advice based on another first class applicant that was denied and I met him. There are two schools of thought concerning it. There are people with RA and TA and scholarship full funding from Canadian school that CIC denied as “lacking sufficient funds to pay educational expenses without taking employment in Canada.” There are others too who scaled through with no problem having TA and RA and scholarship full funding. Depends on which VO is looking through your application I guess. Best wishes!

@jnyuwa02
Thanks for all your support, but how can one tackle below rejections base on your explanation.

“have sufficient and available financial resources, without taking employment in Canada,to pay tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue ”
“have sufficient and available financial resources, without taking employment in Canada,to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study ”
“have sufficient and available financial resources, without taking employment in Canada,to pay the cost of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada ”
