Rapid fire AP death up to 3 k metres for MPRAPs,LAVs,APCs,softskins and dismounts on a simple rugged high mobility frame with good ground clearance. Whats not to like! Ideally it should be stabilised like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OrymIyWt9I

Unlike those terrorist FSA fvcuks in Syria using free mounted 23 mm on Toyotas! Btw the 23 mm has nearly 40 % more range and penetration than the US 20mm.

I've long admired Paramount products but prefer the Marauder.
Speaking of their products its time for the NAF to bite the bullet and accept the reality. It seems, sad as it may be and to my surprise that for now the US is still playing along with Jean Fraude's Lake Chad oil basin grab agenda and will therefore frustrate Naij efforts to get Tucs. Go for the Mwari but ensure there are non US systems. As the first buyer you should be able to push for co production and/or licence building on favourable terms.

The Tucano deal has been finalized already.

I've seen ZU-23 fire many times. You'll be very lucky to hit anything at 2km with it.Especially if you put it on a vehicle. Your 10 round burst groups in the area of a football pitch at that range. Really more of an area/anti personnel weapon when used ground to ground. That's why modern auto cannons shoot in single fire mode.

The basic idea of this type of AA system is not really to hit a fast jet. You put massive amount of tracer in the air with the hope that the pilot loses his nerve and pulls out of his bombing run early for eg.

Easter is one of those weird times at work. Usually during Christian holidays it's we non-believers, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists etc manning the stations. Now the Christians are off for Easter and the Jews off for Pesach, and because we're 24/7, I'm getting 4 hours sleep in-between my regular beat and another region.

All good though, I'm accumulating days for our biking trip to finish the rest of SADC.

CHIEF OF THE AIR STAFF FETES FRONTLINE TROOPS IN NORTHEAST

Frontline personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) currently serving in the Northeast and visiting members of their families have been treated to a special lunch by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on 1 April 2018, in celebration of the Easter festivities. The CAS, who was represented at the occasion by the Commander Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Idi Lubo, commended the contributions of personnel towards prosecuting the fight against insurgency in the country and urged them not to rest on their oars. He said that although a lot of success had been recorded in the fight against Boko Haram Terrorists, the personnel needed to put more effort towards completely eradicating the menace. The representative of the CAS later had lunch with the other NAF frontline personnel serving in Yola.

At Yola, AVM Lubo thanked Air Marshal Abubakar for the kind gesture of facilitating the lunch. Addressing the troops after the lunch, the representative of the CAS commended the troops for their relentless efforts and sacrifices, which had greatly degraded the capability of the insurgents. He equally tasked the troops to redouble their efforts to ensure that the entire country, and the Northeast Region in particular, become a safer place for Nigerians.

AVM Lubo later presented the award of the Best Officer of the Quarter to Group Captain Samuel Eyoma, who is the Head of the Data Collection and Analysis Team in the Tactical Operation Centre. He then encouraged the Senior Officer to remain focused and diligent in the discharge of his duties. Likewise, he charged other personnel to emulate those qualities that won Group Captain Eyoma the award. The representative of the CAS also seized the opportunity to commission some projects at 103 Strike Group, aimed at enhancing the protection of NAF critical assets in NAF Base Yola.

The idea behind the special lunch with NAF frontline personnel, which has become a tradition since Air Marshal Abubakar became the CAS, is to sustain their morale towards enhancing operational effectiveness.
