Huh

I haven't seen the second goal yet but I will definitely blame Awaziem for the first goal. I don't know what instructions were given to the players as to who would mark whom, but what I know that it was Awaziem who was beaten by the header for the first goal.

O pari

tbaba1234:

Awaziem had less blame than Ekong for the goals.

Uzoho is still young and will get better. WC might be too early.

Messi is extremely strong bros, you can't take him off the ball easily and when he guards the ball, you rather foul him than think of dispossessing him easily. That is strength football wise.
bengine:

He played a lot of games in seria B the equivalence of championship..he scored a lot of goals there for spezia or so....do you know what strong means? Sodiq is a strong player, him always falling down is due to lack of balance..most African players naturally have strength..would you say messi is strong? He has really good balance, that's why he can dribble at speed and not fall down..

I quoted goalkeeping because, I saw Uzoho's school boy errors and the way he was jumping like fish before that first goal against Serbia which remided me of one Greg Etafia if you still remember? He played in a South African club. Ezenwa, we can manage but Akpeyi is no go area. Why not try out Maduka from the German league?

The defense were overstretched due to poor midfield but Awaziem no try cha cha. I thought Ebuehi could do better but thank God we have Shehu Abdullahi in case

Midfield was without class even with Ndidi and Joel Obi. Ogu only get big body but no skill. I prefer Iwobi in midfield with Ndidi (the sweeper). Join them with Noah BAZEE and Jordan IBE (both at the wings) and you'll see class (in the absence of Mikel and VicMoses)

Do you appreciate Ighalo's play? Because I DONT. Ahmed Musa.... no comment. Iheanacho's absence was felt. Or better still try Samuel Kalu.

Happy Easter to you Mr Supernerd. Glad to have you back from exile. (lol... just kidding)

has bazee started playing?

Is Sadiq taller than Ibrahimovic?
lexyman:

ability to run without falling depends on your knowledge of biomechanics ... the science has to do with stamina and body balance ...managing the body with the ability to withstand internal forces and balancing the body with the external impact that will hinder the body from moving .... Peter Crouch is far taller than sadiq Umar and he doesnt fall any how ... he has the right stamina which is proportional to his physical built ... and he could withstand the external forces .....

I'm not referring to your initial AM tussle you were discussing referencing Ebere Eze. I'm looking at it from a bigger pics. We tend to want all these players, but truth is that Naija is also very competitive and a domineering int'l career is not guaranteed for somenof these FBs players... But to your question, at the moment, 2 AMs. But in the future (2 to 3 yrs), we'd have about 4. Nwakali, Ifeanyi Matthews, Yahaya etc. Now if we want to start living in fantasies like @Forgiveness, then we could start adding guys like Lookman, Ejaria, Onomah and it starts becoming herculean for all of them to play regularly for us.

At this point, Mikel Obi is the only one playing that role well. Experiments with Etebo and Iheanacho have not worked out so far. We are lean in that area currently.

Eze in my opinion can fill that role right now or immediately after WC.. He has already trained with Nigeria so Rohr knows him

Kelechi Nwakali and the others need a couple of years to be ready

many a time I watch iwobi play for the super eagles...I appreciate arsenal foot ball academy they really groomed that lad....

now we have another good prospect...eze in our hands...we must not let him go...call him up...better to even have him called than keep testing mikel agu and Agbo who never get to play...

not too happy the way rohr keep treating Agbo though....

To be fair, he mainly scored for them in the Segunda. Ighalo link up and playmaking skills isn't anything close to Benzema. If we wanted someone who would help the team and link up with the wingers, then why not take Ideye as 3rd choice?? Better target man and links up well with Nacho.

Are we not talking about the Spanish second division? The point of the video is, 1) that he is considered a legend in Granada and 2) That he scores great goals, that video oozes of quality and class that can't be denied.

Ighalo may not be Benzema but he is a player who always plays to help his team. Our wingers have to be willing to link up with their striker because right now they(Coughs ViMo) are a black hole that the ball goes into and never returns.

style of play is emphasis here.....

I didn't say he plays like Benzema. I meant they both bring other attributes that will keep them on the pitch even without goals.

So the fact Mikel was a DM for club overruled the fact that he was traditionally an AM for us? Yahaya would never be considered as a WB for Naija the same way we would never consider V. Moses a WB for us. Alaba is a WB for club but AM or CM for country.

@Tbab123, this paragraph is not directed to you but @Clementoke, (Idk how to quote numerous responses on this NL. It'sa struggle here lol), at the under17s African Nations cup in Morroco, Ifeanyi Matthews was the AM. Failed the test for the Dubai WC and Abdullahi Alfa came in as an AM/CM. He switched a lot with Yahaya. In the under 20s Afcon in 2015, Matthews was primarily the AM while Idowu was the DM until Nwobodo emerged and altered the formation that made Matthews play CM more. But at the WC in New Zealand, due to the presence of Yahaya, the game against Brazil, Matthews played CM and yahaya AM until his injury. For MFM Matthews was their AM, but at Pillars because of Rabiu Ali he had to play CM/DM. In his initial days at Lillestrom, Matthews started out as an AM but moved to CM the next season.
I grouped him as an AM cos that's the position he started out as. I hope to find the article where Manu Garba praised him and said his pass is almost half a goal. Is he a CM now? yes, but does he have the technical ability to play AM? yes. You get my drift now?

Why would Yahaya never be considered a RB??

You seem to forget that Mikel was the second best player at an under 20 tournament and was capped by Nigeria soon after... So even as he was being converted to a defensive player, he was still playing an offensive role for Nigeria.

If Yahaya moves to a bigger club and continues playing as a RB. Nigeria will most likely call him as a right back... Ndidi was a CB before he was converted to a DM. Iheanacho was not a CF in the youth ranks. Musa Muhammed started out as a CB in the youth ranks, Chidiebere Nwakali was a right back at the CAF under 17 and at the start of the under 17 WC.

Yahaya right now is a right back.. That is the role, he has played for a couple of years now.

Youth players are converted all the time..

Ronaldo is not a strike but scores more than any strikers in the world, maybe naija we dont necessary need a striker lets make use of what we have, find one goal scoring winger and we are good to go, onyekuru comes in mind.

I once said it was too early to say 90% of the team for Russia is already known to Rorh. The point is the outcome and performance of these players in friendlies can always move him one way or the other..
If we had done excellently over those friendlies, there wouldn't be any talk like this.. but I like what's going on. Let's keep our fingers crossed.. Eventually, there should be a LEAST a few surprises

Rohr combs Europe for strikers

Apparently not satisfied with the performance of his players against Serbia last Tuesday, the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has vowed to get prolific strikers that would deliver at this year’s World Cup.

The Eagles, after labouring to beat Poland 1-0 on March 23rd, 2018, the team played below expectation in the next match against Serbia at the Barnet Stadium in England four days later. Rohr has since spread his dragnet to search for potent strikers and unique players that could transform his team to a world beater.

In a chat with NationSport when asked if he was looking for prolific strikers that can score goals more easily for the Eagles, Rohr disclosed that he has put the machinery in motion to upgrade all the departments of his team in readiness for the 2018 World Cup

“We are still ready to take someone really stronger than those players we have. Each weekend we are monitoring a lot of players with our scouting team”, the Franco- German football tactician replied.

And that's exactly the same reason KC is the Golden boy here.. He delivers where we need him to most -- The GWG

tbaba1234:

I am concerned about his form for Nigeria.. If he scores for Nigeria and does not score at club level, i do not care..

Ideye scored plenty goals in Ukraine but could not reproduce that form for Nigeria, Akpala scored a lot in Belgium but could not reproduce that for Nigeria, Ujah was a goal machine in Germany but failed to replicate that for Nigeria.

His return for Nigeria is poor, 4 goals in 15.. That needs to drastically improve in the WC..
