Snubbed England For Nigeria – Technical Report Plus Facts About Man Utd Rising Star Tosin Kehinde

It’s no longer news that Manchester United fast rising teen prospect Tosin Kehinde has pledged his international future to Nigeria ahead of England as first reported by Owngoalnigeria.com.

However many Nigerians still don’t know the qualities of the 19 year old and how he will fit into the playing system of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, as well as his qualities as a midfielder.

England based Owngoalnigeria.com correspondent Michael James profiles the Lagos born midfielder with facts as well as his best position on the pitch of play especially this season for the Reserves of the Premier League giants.

1. Kehinde was born in Lagos but raised in the United Kingdom, where he turned out for Tottenham Hotspur before signing for Manchester United at the age of 13.

2. He made his debut for the U21s of Man United at the age of 16 coming on as a substitute in their win over Wolves. A sign of how well he is rated at the club.

3. He has trained with the first team of Manchester United severally this season. Something he said wasn’t his aim at the start of the season, as he was focused on pinning down a regular spot in the Reserve team.

4. Primarily a central midfielder in the mould of Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel, although he is a bit quicker. He has also impressed playing from the left flank this season.

5. An astute passer with a high positional sense, he has added goal scoring to his game, and his goal against Chelsea was nominated for the club’s Goal of the month award for September.

Maybe my eyes could be deceiving me oh. But this Chidi Osuchukwu guy plays a little bit like Mesut Oezil with that educated left foot in the middle. One for the future? Perhaps.

Ah ah nah sir goldfish80, at 25 Chidi is still one for the future? The same guy that was released by Braga. He was good at dolphins of PH and the 2013 Ogbu led U20 team. He might turn out a late bloomer but...I comment my reserve.

Actually, here's how I described that goal on the bbc.com website
Post #1:
That was a great goal, no doubt but enough of the hype. We have definitely seen better goals, especially considering that he hit from insider the box with no challenge. From that range, he couldn't miss. O pari

Post #2:
I would like to see him take the ball from the middle of the pitch and go through 4-5 defenders like Messi and then finish with a goal, instead of always waiting inside the 18 yard box for a cheap tap in. That's what makes him a great player ... anybody can score a cheap tap in. O pari

Nerdie, that was definitely a great goal. No question! Let's give credit to whom credit is due. But the best goal ever? Naaaah, not even close. I think it's ridiculous for people to even start voting on that, but I voted for Ibrahimovic wondrous goal.

And hopefully everyone took a look at each kick again in YouTube before voting. For me it was between Ibrahimovic and Masaluke, but I gave it to Ibrah for being that bit more remarkable - and the distance. Absolutely awesome! Cristiano scored from inside the 18 yard box just by connecting with a perfect peach of a pass ... to me, even an average player can finish that.

Rooney's goal was good too. And even Giroud had a great bicycle kick goal as well. And I liked Peter Crouch’s goal too.. bullet!! So enough of all these hype regarding what CR7 did .... we've seen better. The media just like to promote him to counteract the great Leo Messi. Ridiculous! angry sad shocked

That goal by Ronaldo was not a world class goal my man. It was an intergalactic goal... A goal that crosses into the realm of galaxies and multiverses.... Chaaaiiiiii... I pray our upcoming young GWG stars take a keen cue from the two gods of the beautiful game in this age called Messi and CR7. Greatness is timeless... We will get there.

Bia Sir Icon79... Biko never in your life downplay Ronaldo's class again inugo... Both he and messi need to be accorded their due respects. They are both the gold standard beauties of football today. They are both part of the major reasons why we still call Football/Soccer, the beautiful game. wink

Meanwhile see wetin Barzagli do for the goal... He was like... "What was I supposed to have done? He is CR7 after all"

Buffon was like... "YOUNG Egbon... You are the real MVP."

Arbeloa says CR7 should go play with Martians. That he is done here. Lol.

Even the whole juventus fans put aside their passion for a semi ticket and applauded The masterclass brilliance of CR7.

May this anointing be tapped by our budding young super GWG talents.... Amen!

Last pic is Zidane's epic reaction to the intergalactic goal. Calling is world class does not do justice.... May our Young Super Eagles take inspiration from this and catch more fire in their bones...

The first goal was a tap in. The second goal was a bicycle kick scored from inside the 18 yard box. A great goal no question, but we've seen better. The likes of Ibrah scored similar goals from about 30 meters aways, and Rooney, Olivier Giroud, and even Peter Crouch have scored better bicycle kick goals. Lol.... You no go disappoint shaa. Hahahahahahahahaha.... This is CR7 doing it against a die-hard Juventus defence against one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time and in the world elite Uefa champions league... He even executed it from a staggering height of 7ft 7inches high in the air. Come on!!!! C.Ronaldo and Messi are two soccer gods in this era... And my goodness I draw super inspiration from their consistent shows year in year out at the top of the game. They have gone beyond world class and have shown that greatness is timeless. They have both maintained such insane levels of brilliance over the last decade and more... And last night belonged to one of them. C.Ronaldo himself.

Biko.... Rooney's, Giroud's bicycle kick goals do not even come close to the class and magnitude in which CR7 executed his. His also was from a height so "high" (2.23 m I think-- 7 ft 7inches in the air) in fact and you are aware of his insane jump power and Air time.
Zlatan did his from 40 yards or so I think... But it was against a pathetic England side with above average Joe hart in goal... But we saw C.Ronaldo doing it against one of Europe's dreaded Defensive die-hard teams with arguably the greatest Goalkeeper of all time, Buffon in goal.

Just give it up for him Sir Icon79... Our young Super Eagles rising top talents should take keen inspiration from both Messi and CR7... Focusing on just one will make them and us miss out on the other side of intergalactic beauties present in each uniquely. They are not world class players... Calling them world class is now an insult. Others can take the tag of world class grade A+, world class grade A, near world class, high quality, top potential and so on.... But Messi and C.Ronaldo both belong in the same class as Pele and Maradona..... "The Intergalactic class" which is so far beyond world class.

The whole of the home fans in Turin stood up in admiration and admission of C.Ronaldo's class .... Never before have the Juventus fans been so shocked and humbled beyond words... Never before have they applauded a player who decimated them to shreds right on their home turf. This is die-hard Juventus... The old ladies of Europe having their fans salute immeasurably the god-like status of the man C.Ronaldo. Live with it!!!!!..... Messi and CR7 are Key parts of the major reasons why we still call football the beautiful game even today.

Buffon will go down in history as one of the very super best in world history between the sticks. And even he salutes the god-like beast in CR7....

Of course, there are. But, unlike they are doing with yesterday's goal, I am yet to see them running a poll each time Messi scores one of his classics. That's the only thing I don't like about Cristiano Ronaldo - he's way too over hyped by the media and his handlers. He's a great player (or shall we say a great goal scorer) but no where near the best player in the world. He shouldn't even be included in that discussion at all.

CR7 is definitely a great player. I just don't like the overhype. He's not the best player in the world, not even close. He's just a player who knows how to get himself in good position to finish other people's efforts. Leo Messi creates his own goals, Cristiano waits for others to do all the work so he can finish and take the credit. To compare those two, to me, is the biggest injustice in modern era.

Having said that, Juventus should be ashamed of themselves. Their defensive effort yesterday was appalling. I think they are scared of Real Madrid. It seems like they tend to forget how to play football once they see Real Madrid. I was ashamed of their game yesterday especially Dybala and Higuian who always goes missing on the big stageshocked

That was a sensational goal. Messi's goals also get overhyped. If messi scored the kind of goal scored by MFM's Olatunbosun, we will not hear word.

Ronaldo has a claim to be the best player in the world. He is not as naturally gifted as Messi but he has worked very hard to get himself to that level. There are players who were more naturally gifted than Ronaldo but never reached his level. He deserves the accolades.

But he only does half the job compared to Messi. The great Leo Messi is a deep-lying playmaker creating and scoring goals for fun. CR7 on the other hand is a player who always hangs around the edges of the box and watch the play develops so he can finish. Hence, comparing the two player is a misnomer and blatantly unfair. That's my only beef shocked

Balon d'Or voting, like every other polling contest is largely influenced by the law of recency. Their last performance usually carry more weight than earlier ones. Ronaldo knows this and uses it to his advantage.

He plays pretty much averagely in the first half of the season, conserves his energy and then unleashes it toward the business end of the season.

In 2013, fifa reopened voting for Balon d'Or after ronaldo scored a hattrick against Sweden, needless to say, ronaldo won it that year.

I bet many voters changed their mind on who to vote for after that amazing goal yesterday.

just because he wasn't on the pitch for the finals, doesn't mean they did it without him.

You underrate the power of motivation. Even the goal scorer admitted that it was CR7's pep talk that inspired him, mans was a coach in that game.
