City had more points to gain and therefore lose by beating both teams now whereas United had 5pts less. That is why at this point in time 75 to 64 will make City only 11pts ahead.

This therefore means City should have been 14pts ahead before playing United (because by YOUR figures they lost that game to drop it back to 11 right?).
