On a side note. Salisu and co. should have invited Alampasu for the Atletico Madrid match. I wonder why he was not there. One of the importance of the team B is to help our special talents gain exposure. This was a good chance for Alampasu to show himself.

I agree..

I thought it was reported here by Sir Kog45 that feelers from camp indicate that Joel Obi should raise is his game as his performance was below expectation now comes ANS saying Obi was the star for team B.

OGN say Joel was poor.

ANS say Joel was great.

The answer lies in the middle. He was good.

The passion with which the Arab world as a whole follow football is unimaginable.

They see it as war.

I was in Dubai 2 months ago, every shop I went to, Salah's jersey was sold out.

It is in Nigeria that Mikel's Chelsea will be playing Man U and you will see Nigerians supporting Man U o. Don't try that with Egyptians in Egypt.

Egyptians in particular are so passionate about football - especially the nayionalistic side of it. With all the Egyptians I have met in my life, football was part of our discussions.

This is the reason am not happy about Ideye,Kayode and Oyekwuru clubs situation and injury cos they are better than Lokosa and Simy.

Hahahahahaha! grin

you know rohr can't take over 2 unfit players to the world cup....
how he recuperate fast will tell if he will make the list....

why rohr can manage ndidi and ekong because of their usefulness to the team...
same can't easily be said of moses Simon...he is not even a starter. so gonna be an easy decision for rohr to make.

I am not sure you followed the campaign.

If Karius was Nigerian before this final, many will clamor we should play him based on his experience in the Champions League and EPL, being Liverpool's number one.

As I said, experience is not a guarantee of good performance. It takes bravery, determination and talent.

TheGoodjoe, experience is relative.
Karius does not have the experience for the job at this level.
And be deceiving yourself that experience doesn't matter. When you have never done something before where will the bravery come from? You think determination and talent alone can carry a goalkeeper that far?
You guys are really underestimating the importance of the goalkeeping department. See what poor goalkeeping can do to a whole team's effort.

And oga, please when you want to employ a driver for yourself or for your company please throw away experience. Let bravery determination and talent be the only criteria. You hear?

Chief, the dictionary defines tribalist as

"an advocate or practitioner of strong loyalty to one's own tribe or social group"

Because majority of people in our circle associate a word with a particular meaning does not change the actual meaning of the word.

Beign nationalistic is also considered tribalistic, because the premise of nationhood today was the construct of tribes in the past.

That's true. English thinks they are better than French while thinks they are the most civilized in Europe. Based on that definition all nations are not exempted because all fight for superiority. Hmmmmm!

That is it o Jarus.

The only Egyptian I have ever had one on one conversation with we discussed football for almost 90% of the period.

One thing I know for sure is they don't like losing to Algeria.

You are talking in circles. I would not write what I wrote if I did not consider the goalkeeping department serious.

Select the best keeper, not the most experienced keeper because the experience does not guarantee good performances. Ask David James.

That was Liverpool's number one causing havoc.

Ekong is fine

Simon Moses will have a scan

Awaziem is not serious

Ndidi is recuperating

I see. Then no wahala!

Why is Simon going for scan? Is he nursing an injury before he came to camp?

Because some players can hide injury ooooooo.

poor goalkeeping?

Poor goalkeeping would mean that the scoreline was 3-4 or something like that. Poor goalkeeping was just one of many issues. What happened to Liverpool's attack? Where was Firmino? Only Mane was trying.

There is a saying that if you cannot stop the opposition from scoring, then try to outscore them. Liverpool obviously failed to do that

We should be talking about the dangers of having only one talisman, Liverpool lost that game as soon as Salah left that pitch.

He picked up a muscle injury in training so he will have a scan to determine the seriousness.

Hahahaha hahahaha. Riddle Riddle, Riddle. I am something, OGN said I was poor, ANS say I was great, tbaba1234 say I was good. What am I?

Kai I will never forget Ogbonna my childhood friend. Everytime it came to saying 'what am I'? No matter how hard he tried to get it he always said 'What I am' which sounded like water yam in our ears. Omo come see laugh and mocking. Worse thing be say next time na im go still be number one when time for Riddle start and inevitably it would end with water yam.

my brother, you have a valid point.

Even in penalty shoot-outs, coaches may switch their goalies because they know that while one may be more experienced, the other may be a deadball specialist.

Look at how Wenger shuffled his goalies. He used Cech for EPL, and fielded the less experienced Ospina for the big stage

I can bet about 80% of people do not want Akpeyi in goal for us despite all his experience. Emma Daniel was a better option to Akpeyi despite Akpeyi's experience. Ederson is a better choice to Claudio Bravo despite Bravo's experience and multiple titles. Joe Hart despite his limited experience was a preferred choice to Shay Given despite all the experience of Shay Given.

Experience is not a guarantee.

Sometimes you have to win a game 1:0. With better goalkeeping and less errors, Perhaps the result would have been different.
