Ogu on current form is way better than Onazi, Agu and Joel combined. Left for me he'd be the third man in the midfield. Let Rohr start him against the 3 lions
you get the gist jare. I'LL be suprised if Rohr starts Onazi ahead of this guy. Ogu brings some kind of calmness to the midfield and his passes are spot on... I hope Ndidi comes back strong and get back in shape for our match against Czech

If you know you want to enjoy your WC this summer... I will keenly advise that you all who are irritated with Egbon Forgiveness' rants and wailtings should as much as possible ignore, jump and pass over his posts. They are not for the Unity and solidarity of this team, Our darling Super Eagles..... For those of you who can bear to read through (like me) it is better to know how to engage him and how far to go in a discourse with him because if you are not careful, he will bring you down to his level of childhish nit-picking and isolated irrelevant talks and you will be stained and lost in the sea of his many branches of headless arguments all in a bid to keep his wailing campaign on

It is his right to comment and say whatever he likes... But again you have the power to ignore... So ignore.
Thank you.

Thank goodness you said this. Jump and pass is not only a song. Use it here and enjoy your stay here.

Sir, you are of the sophistication school of thought that is why you are always being diplomatic with your choice of words even though you know the thruth but I don't believe that is enough in this present day country of ours. Issues must be confronted as they come. oha!

I don't see anything different when a politician will steal, kill, bribe and rig his way into a political posts and afterwards tells you to support the government and allow the will of God to play. He will even tell you not to resort to violence and to go to court knowing fully well the judiciary is under his feet.

This goes on and on and on and on...........still date.

So, because we know this is Nigerian factor, we should continue to suffering and smiling by accepting everything thrown at us?

Should the good people continue to stay aside and watch the evil have their field day?

i have always tried to make the point that Rohr doesn't know all Nigerian players in Europe. He works with what those around him gives him.

And that is why I really doubt he knew there is a active Nigerian goalkeeper in first division league in Europe that is able to solve our goalkeeper crisis hence the reason he keep sticking with a third division goalkeeper, a clubless goalkeeper and a bench warmer goalkeeper introduced to him by that goalkeeper coach.

How can Nwakali make the 35 man list ahead of players that did better than them in Europe?

Is the 35 man list not suppose to be for the best players in Europe?

I knew Lokosa was just to cover face, he is never going to world cup. Gbam

You claim Rohr gave them opportunity, right? Can you please list the players Rohr gave opportunity and did not messure up?

About Simeon, I doubt the authenticity of the scan done in Port Harcourt. I wanted to advice he goes back to his club and do the test again before we accept he is truly injured and out for 4 weeks.

Somebody must talk and I am just doing that.

I have been vindicated that Nwakali was on the list.

Is selection based on the sole subjective personal led judgement of one individual

What happened to a selection criteria and objectivity based on quantifiable measurement ❓

Breakdown of the Super Eagles midfield....

Who says we only have DMs in the team?

Mikel Obi- Attacking midfield, Central midfield

Ogenyi Onazi- Defensive midfield (other roles: CM)

Onyinye Wilfred Ndidi- Defensive Midfield (other roles: CM)

John Ogu- Central midfield (can also play AM and DM)

Oghenekaro Etebo- Attacking and Central Midfield (can also play DM to an extent and LW).

Mikel Agu- Defensive Midfield

Joel Obi- Central midfield

The Point is that, minus creativity equals to DM whether we call them CM or whatever other position they play.

K. Nwakali's invitation was a blessing in disguise no doubt. I say that because his stats don't look relatively good. But like I already said in my afterthought, he may have made the cut because they saw some qualities in his play they were looking for. He was tested and he did pretty well.

How do you know better players with better club statistics could not have done better

This sentimental selection based on past youthful glories not present continous consistent performances in thier respective clubs can easily be used for favoritism.

The biggest word in football is OPPORTUNITY without it we will never know what a player can do.

That's why it is essential that the most deserving players get the OPPORTUNITY not the most connected.

Iwobi came into limelight playing on the left wing against Barcelona. He was mustard in that game and in the final games of that season. He can make the wing his own just like Nasri did. He doesn't have the balance in his game to sustain play in the midfielder for now, in my opinion.

Lol.... Abeg cut the CMs there some slack. No be all fit get eagle eye vision like Mikel. That is why it is called a special talent. Hahahahahahahahaha.. ..but on a serious note... Yeah.. I understand the point but only showing that not all are DMs in the real sense of it. We have only one true AM in Mikel then the rest are CMs and DMs. Etebo is a LW and CM and have been found to be very ineffective (almost zero as an AM).

I think from what we saw Rohr do with Iwobi in the DRC game when he took Etebo wide left, with Iwobi playing centrally, it may show that he plans to make Iwobi his Mikel 2.0.

I expect them to put up a great fight in Russia.

1, This group is as tough as 2002 group. Argentina/Argentina, Sweden/Iceland, England/Croatia - other than maybe Iceland is slightly below Sweden.

2, You listed Okocha, Taribo, Aghahowa and Yobo as "other than". I will like to see the "other than" of this 2018 team and let's compare.

3, This was our starting 11 versus Argentina

GK 1 Ike Shorunmu
RB 16 Efe Sodje YC
CB 6 Taribo West
CB 5 Isaac Okoronkwo
LB 3 Celestine Babayaro
RM 10 Jay-Jay Okocha (c)
CM 2 Joseph Yobo
CM 4 Nwankwo Kanu
LM 11 Garba Lawal
CF 9 Bartholomew Ogbeche
CF 17 Julius Aghahowa

Compare the 2018 likely starting 11 with these guys. Other than maybe Sodje and Ogbeche, I don't see any "rag tag" in this team. Kanu was better than Iwobi, JJ than Mikel. Garba Lawal was more useful than Musa. Aghahowa on pitch gave more hope than Ighalo in GWG colours etc

What is Nwakali doing on the 35 man list ahead of players that did better than him? Answer.

Dey deceive yourself say those players were on the 35 man list?

Your stats is fake.

Simy scored 0 goal in 15 matches the first season in the Portuguese first division eventhough he played as a striker.

In his second season, he scored 7 goals in 30 matches and he started 24-26 matches as a striker too.

In Serie A, 3 goals in 21 matches as a striker in his first season and 7 goals in 23 matches as a striker.

Most of his goals were scored in the second division of the Portuguese league. GBAM.

His stats is not good enough.

Look at Kayode's stats. He was played as a SS in the la Liga.

Today Kayode is up Lokosa, tomorrow against Simy, now na against Iheanacho? shocked

Iheanacho and Ighalo making the list is not a question but Simy is never in the level of Kayode. Fact

Though Iheanacho's record in the EPL is not good enough but we know he is not a striker. He's best as a SS. Fact

You claimed Kayode was blunt in the Under age grade?lies.

How many goals did Iheanacho and Ighalo scored in the U20.

Abeg, Kayode is not the focal point of discussion.

The koko is how did Nwakali managed to enter 35 man list through the back door?

I was waiting for this

Look at the following screenshots

1. Kayode total league goals over the total span of his career plus national team

2. Kayode total goals including league goals and cup gmaes

Vs

Picture 3. With Simy stats

We have a very crucial game on Saturday and for me it will be true test of how far we have come and how prepared we are.

The English players are going to be very competitive and will play the game at a considerably fast pace.

This is where Ighalo and more relevantly Simi will be tested. Can Simi replicate his physicality to such great effect in the Seria A against EPL players from England. I have speculated a 4-4-2 formation if things get tough with Ighalo and Simi essentially bullying thier way to goals.

I can see the teenage Alexander playing to nullify the speed of Musa. Musa will need to play intelligent football and not just rely on sheer pace. And if Alex doesn't play we still have Rose and Walker to deal with. Sadly Moses Simon, so Etebo must bring some real gra gra power football.

Like to see a mobile midfield with Mikel pulling all the strings, his input will determine to a large extent who will win this match.

Winning is important but not essential, putting in a composed disciplined and inventive performance much more vital.

Concerns Echiejile slow and could be easily over run I prefer a midfield of Ndidi and Onazi not Ogu. I see this as a game Ogu can be left behind because he is simply too slow and lacks good recovery.

I use to feel that England lacked flair and inventive unpredictable guile in midfield. That's not the case anymore Rueben Loftus is a beast in midfield and our prodigal son Dele has a lot to offer skill wise.

Onazi and Ndidi will have to be on top if thier games.

Vic Moses is for me our Ace he brings it all to the game, pace, power, skill, speed and unpredictability. I expect him to score.

Iwobi will have to work hard and I don't expect him to start. He will have to be at his best to influence the game.

Our defenders will be dealing with an on fire Harry Kane. Our midfield has to stop any supply to him. So closing down and pressing as a unit from the front Liverpool style against Real, KEY to success. It's going to be hard fitness is a major issue.

My heart wants Nigeria to win but my objectivity says unlikely. Been waiting for decades for this game. So I am extremely excited.

On the selfish side some of our players if they put in a good outstanding display. Will have played themselves into a lucrative EPL contract.

It probably is; but not far from the truth tho. Like I told y'all a few days ago, Rohr is most likely going to select 8 defenders due to the players available to him (Balogun, Ekong, Shehu, Ebuehi, Omeruo, Awazien, Idowu, and Echiejile). And I think it makes sense for him to do that.

I love your analysis.

But when you play a 4-4-2 it is typical to play a natural CF and an SS. Except if one of the CFs plays the SS role very well. But looking at Ighalo and Nwankwo they are both natural CFs.

If we must play 4-4-2, I would suggest we play each of them in each half and Ihenacho be the SS.

Agree that the group is as tough.

Let us go back to 2002, Okocha was the best player on the team, Taribo was already on the decline and barely played games that season. Yobo was still an up and coming youngster in the team as at 2002, Adepoju was on the decline playing for a second division spanish club.

Ogbeche was not anywhere near the quality of our present forwards at least not at that time. Efe Sodje was average at best. Lawal is not on the level of Victor Moses or Iwobi or Ahmed Musa or Simon Moses offensively.

Babayaro was better than our current left backs.

Then we had Justice Christopher, Opabunmi, Eric Ejiofor (decent player) on the bench.
