I’ve not seen any report that Agbo was injured. You may as well believe there is conspiracy. You may as well be on the Agbo matter from now and months to come.

forgiveness:

I am not happy Agbo was never given the chance to prove himself but I learnt he came to camp with injury hence my silence on his issue.

However, I was the first person among this group to clamour for the invitation of Agbo when he was active in the La Liga because I saw how he was consistent and performed then but these same set of people almost chocked me to death at the mention of his name and as usual, I held my own.

They compared him with Iwobi because they don't even know he plays as a DMF mostly then.

My point is performance has always been my watch word but I am totally amazed on how dey change mouth for here.

Anyway, you can see I didn't fish out Agbo because I know he really really deserved to be on the list.

It's so sad Rohr used him as a training material just to dump him without given him a chance.

There is no one standard that’s for sure. As a coach I would tell my scouts to look for players with certain qualities. After their recommendations I will also ask other questions e.g their stats etc. Stats should be one of the factors but not an absolute. A coach knows how he wants to play. His winning philosophy comes first, although some of us believe you just get the players with the best stats and form a playing system based on their qualities. I think it is a blend of the two approaches. And this is also true especially in national teams that have lots of players.

Smiles. Philosophy meant only for under performing players. I see. cool

Joebie, I like the first formation, except I will start Ighalo on the right frank and move VicMo to the left. You can't keep Ighalo on the bench ,he is too valuable
how many goals did ighalo scored during the qualifiers? He can't be relied upon .Simy is fast and has more eyes for goals .

We simply don’t know. But I’m not going to recommend a Kayode if my specific immediate assignment is to look for tall players who can give us options as regards scoring headers. And that’s just an example. On club form alone, Kelechi dont even deserve to be on the 50. But keep your mind open

As tall as Peter Crouch or Uchebo?

Abeg, I don hear. Let us see how things go. Cheers!

My formation for England line up

1. 4-3-3
Akpeyi

Ebuehi - - Ekong - - Balogun - - Echiejile

Ndidi - - Mikel Ogu

Iheanacho

Ighalo Simy

I put Akpeyi and Echiejile because if we are going to really access their performance then it is better to see how they will fair against a top European team. They will be no hiding place in this match. England don't joke with friendly,.. Lolz, atleast if they can't win the world cup then they should make do with friendly wins grin

This match is going to be interesting for Echiejile especially, it will be nice to know how he will cope against fast wingers. His performance will make Rohr decision easy honestly

2. Alternative formation

3-5-2

Awaziem Ekong Balogun

Ebuehi Ndidi Ogu V. Moses

Mikel

Ighalo Simy

This formation is no brainer, we have seen Iheanacho and Iwobi before playing false 9 against Argentina and they did very well but i will like to see how our two top 9 will fair in these positions with Mikel and Moses behind them
Akpeyi won't play any match until after the world Cup .u want Kane to be scoring from midfield?

Are you a Nigerian? What part of Nigeria are you from? Do you have anyone in your family with progressive or non progressive mental deterioration? I asked because you showed typical traits of someone with paranoid schizophrenia or something worse typical of most Nigerians.

You lot suffer delusions or should i call it grandiose patriotism. I thought you were a troll till i started observing some traits about you. What's your relationship like offline? Do you have friends?, wife? children? girlfriend?

No disrespect sir, i think lots of people in this thread need help but you need help the most.

I will not get into your back and forth nonsense. I am only here to remind you that Eagles will not fly. It is not pessimism, you don't have the talent for that. You don't have the talent to face England. You will be beaten. You might get a draw against Czech before Croatia hammers you.

What makes you different from me?

I can see you really really really need help because you said we don't have talent yet you can't profound ways to solve the problem.

What do we do if we don't have the talent?

Should we withdraw from the competition because of that?

If not, what should we do?

Kelechi Nwakali is an identified special talent and if the coaching crew decides to look in to support him, I doff my heart to them and they earn my respect. When Iwobi made his debut for the Super Eagles, do you think they were no players playing regularly in clubs that would have gotten the nod ahead of Iwobi. However, his blending with the team, securing his allegiance and development with the team was a Priority. He got the nod in a crucial tie.

Maybe you have not heard the saying that football is not mathematics.

Over the years I have watched a lot of players and over time the cream rises to the top.

Football has progressed and we have hundreds of teenagers making waves at the highest level of football. There is no sentiment performance gets you recognition not past youthful glories.

Football is not mathematics according to you, I will not argue with that. Nonetheless, the performance of football is clearly measurable and quantifiable so it's somewhat mathematical in assessment.

Football performance is not the singular preserve of one individual to deduce outstanding performance. There has always been parameters and measurements to determine quality as well as upward future progress.

WHAT THEREFORE MAKES Nwakali a so-called special talent. He has played in the Eredivisie for a season without recognition. He has effectively been demoted to the second tier of Dutch football and even at this lowly level he is not an outstanding player.

He is not among to top 100 teenage footballers despite that misleading outdated local Spanish media outlet somebody used to misrepresent his quality here.

The only thing he has that is special is SPECAIL CONSIDERATION given to him by the powers that be to come into the SE set up. He was allowed to by pass fair-play, required quality and outstanding ability.
You have said the same thing about Osimhen again nothing special beyond once again special favoured consideration.

To hinge your position solely on Rohr said is really evasion of the facts and really unbecoming of you. O expect you to convince us with a rational approach.

My view let there be an open level playing field free from favouritism based on clear defined objective performance parameters. Not subjective personal judgement.

I do not take my hat off to the so called coaching crew. Primarily I know a few of them and they are not exactly football purists. They have other considerations in mind just like all football scouting teams across worldwide football.

Let's view this in retrospect. Post Oliseh guys like, idowu, Aina, ogu, Joel, Iheanacho, iwobi, awaziem, ndidi ebuehi were either not in the team or just joined. Phucking hell [sorry for my language] ighalo just came back against Cameroon.

What else do we expect from Rohr. Every player that was clamoured for here was invited, including Kayode. So we're is all this criticism coming from.

Maybe we don't know but this team was built during the qualifiers and amazingly we qualified for the world cup. Where were you when we missed WC and nations cup back to back. So forgiveness take a chill pill and enjoy the moment. Cos if you won't the rest of us will.... Have a good day

The truth is we are underdogs in our group.

The only team I feel we may just be at par with or dominate is Iceland.

Expect us to soak up so much pressure against Croatia and Argentina.

And i think that we should expect to concede at least two goals.

I agree with Sir Mujtahida on this one. You defend too much, sooner or later that brick wall will crumble (not just fall).

If we can concede against Congo, we sure as hell will concede against Croatia and Argentina. Even Iceland will score.

This is world cup and prolly Lionel Messi's last. He sure as hell will morph into a beast. Can we keep the likes of Modric, Rakitic, Kovacic, Mandzukic at bay for 90 mins?

Do you think other coaches aren't noting our very predictable tactics and our counter-attacking play?

Okay, say we get a chance from a counter-attack, are our strikers clinical or consistent enough to finish off?

If our opponents decide to "Ramos" Mikel and Matuidi" Moses, won't our game-plan be undone?

Are we not tired of exiting group stages or second rounds?

What I know is that should these guys surprise us in Russia and perform beyond expectations, i will be the first persons to shout and declare in my house. But should they exit group stage, Rohr would definitely resign or be sacked and 90% of our players wouldn''t smeel the GWG again

Sincerely a part of me wants key Ayers to just be fit for Russia. Scary to see any key player sit on the pitch is England or Czech and wave for substitution to be made, either with a straight face or with pain.

Nacho and Moses are on my mind.

We can pull a Ramos too Vs Croatia to one of their key players na.

Two experimental (?) formations for England friendly

I would go with the first selection but not necessarily the same formation.

Firstly we need Ebuehi and Idowu to play wing back the speed of Raheem, Vardy and Rashford will create problems. Ebuehi and Idowu have to be on the top of thier game.

The England midfield is for once in a very long time filled with technical and skilful players. Rueben Loftus is a beast, Ndidi has already tasted the harsh reality of playing against him. We CERTAINLY infact desperately need Ndidi to stop him.

Mikel simply doesn't have the speed to backtrack so we will rely on Onazi or Joel as well Ndidi to support the invention of Mikel.

I deh fear this game oh I no fit lie.

I don’t think we should risk Ndidi, hence Shehu who is a more of a DM than a RB. Keeping him as the right DM means he could also support the RB whenever Ebuehi is out of position.

Your points are noted
