EEGA:i think it goes beyond team selection. It's an innate thing that needs to be corrected with our national teams and this attitude toward play in the early part of any match(first 20-30minutes) has span for over a decade and all our opponents knows this. 1 Like 1 Share |

All these while, we had thought our midfield would gel the moment Mikel plays, alas we all have been wrong. Having Joel and Onazi would be suicidal. Neither of them featured in our retrospective match with the Argies and yet we pulled those heroics. Rohr should just thank his stars. He has everything revealed to him now. It will only be foolish of him to persistently start either Joel or Onazi in competitive matches. Those guys should just turn to pundits. I heard the worst footballers actually make good pundits. 5 Likes |

EEGA: have you considered other aspect . Sheu is a versatile player , he can get better, and dont forget , his performance were top notch during the qualifier... not until recently when he started experiencing dwindling in form , but this is not his best |

Joebie:That was an experiment oo. And like you said he doesn't have faith in that system. If not for the absence of Ighalo and the two Moses do you think Rohr would have used that 3-5-2? He is stuck in that mantra. But you know that that mantra can only work if you have all your players having the ability to play all tactical formations well yet you can see that some players flourish in one tactical set up more than the others but if you are stuck with the mantra you will press your players into the tactics rather than match specific players to the tactics. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: let me educate you better, when the right back or the left back don't press forward and allow much pressure on himself from the opponent right back, the idle winger tend to move above him to the Central defender, that was what happened in the first half. if you are very observant that stopped in the second galf |

Martz101: Correct me if I am wrong but i saw him upfront with ighalo in the first half, hence he was played wrongly. Thats a classic repeat of Nigeria vs cameroon |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 10:22pm On Jun 02, 2018 |
Martz101:See I'm very flexible in my thinking. The main thrust of my argument has always been play Iwobi from the middle. I only conceded to Iwobi playing as a sub to Mikel cos it was pointed out that Mikel is already doing excellently well as regards whatever we want iwobi to do. Iwobi kept on drifting into the middle cos that's where his natural instincts lie. he later abandoned the wings(your so called inverted abi false winger) and stationed himself in the middle to the extent that the commentator said Iwobi has been effective (yes he used that word) playing centrally. At a point he was deep in the heart of the midfield in front of the defenders. I told you that Iwobi needs space in his head to flourish. No be to dey hug the lines. Argue it from morning till night it has become clear to everyone that watched the match that Iwobi flourishes as a midfielder not any yeye inverted abi false winger. SE is not Arsenal. Rohr has been using the Wenger template for Iwobi. It can never work in the SE. Forget about respecting me. I didn't come here to garner respect. Let's discuss football. 5 Likes |

Nna, I weak for them o. To me, Uzoho was the least of our problems today. And you're spot on about the next match. He has to start ... the more he plays at this level, the better confidence and experience he would develop and that will help him cut down on mistakes. I trust him more than either Ezenwa or Akpeyi. I have more faith in 3-5-2. Again we should try Simy and Ighalo in a two-prong attack. Iwobi as AM. Mikel as CM, Ndidi as DM. Idowu and Ebuehi as LWB and RWB respectively. Any 3 of Ogu, Balogun, Ekong and Omeruo as our CBs. And We’d be just fine. Mujtahida: 5 Likes 1 Share |

AIG07:But Ebuehi is too soft na. Na achebo him be. Him resemble person way breeze go blow. Shehu is strong and understands the African game. Shehu is our best rb. It doesn't matter if Ebuehi played well. He didn't play well against Serbia. Injury is not an excuse. Rohr will RIGHTLY start Shehu in the WC because Ebuehi is weak. Na technical ability we go chop?? |

EEGA: you don't know what you are talking about, nobody on here will advise Rohr to start with Etebo and ogu, the team have some kinda psychological issue, i don't believe is the players. this same thing happened in the Nigeria game we won against Cameroon also in algeria,Argentina,Poland and Serbia. |

Actually, if you check my posts, you'll see that I spoke up for Ezenwa after the Cameroun game. While many folks here were trying to crucify him for conceding the penalty, I reminded everyone who cared to listed that the man also saved our brushes on several occasions in that same game. What made me lost confidence in Ezenwa was all the howlers he made in the return match against Algeria. In that match, he flapped so many crosses and made a few elementary school errors that I didn't expect at this level. That's when I totally wrote him off O pari Odunayaw: |

Joebie: So una eye dun dey open abi, I have always maintained that Azubuike Okechukwu is a better player than those pretenders but tbaba1234 and Icon4s were against me for saying that. Im just Happy u guys are now seeing what Michael and I saw ages ago. Azubuike made our midfield thick at the Olympics and he has been the best midfielder amongst our midfield contingents that ply their trade in the Turkish league. Agu and Onazi are bench warmers in this same league, yet they are always picked ahead of Azu Okey by Rohr. For reasons best known to him, he also prefers those two to Esiti and Agbo. Just smh bkus Rohr is gradually losing my confidence KPOM 1 Like 1 Share |
