I suggested if Ogu could play LB. But I was almost eaten raw by some people. Yesterday Ogu played LCB almost related to LB

Show us the post where you suggested Ogu could play as LB or I don't believe you.

Which Nacho?

I can only start Nacho in a 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 but as a lone striker Mbanu. The days of experiment are gone.
We also have Simy to deputise for Ighalo.

How are you so sure Simi is going to Russia sef ??
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by zuchyblink(m): 6:35am On Jun 03, 2018
Rohr should leave the CF position for Simi and Iheanacho ;if possible Iwobi because he has been more prolific than Ighalo. If ighalo cannot play as a traditional Right winger Rohr should retire him to the bench

Different is not the same as most effective.
You mean Simy is not effective.6 Serie A goals in his last 8 games.

Rohr started Ighalo today and subbed Iheanacho because both play are used to English players.

Ighalo has not performed way way better than Nacho as a lone striker. Algerian coach said it that Nacho was the reason we won. You are only looking at chances and goal, forgetting the game has gone way beyond that.

Ighalo can not and will never offer the kind of movement Nacho gave us against Algeria. If jam body and fight is what you tag performing way way better, Gabriel Jesus would never wear nine for Brazil.

Lol...
You are right, Iheanacho needs to start. His movements, knack at being at the right place, his passes and I think he has the most accurate shot selection for a Nigerian player I have ever seen, that makes him a hat trick threat at any given day or game.
But Rohr prefers his burly strikers.

Personally, i will definitely start Iheanacho, Iwobi, Mikel, Ndidi and Etebo in any game.... Onazi should not be guaranteed a start, he is important to the team in the background.

I have already addressed it and the point is so simple. The Algerians decided to cage Iheanacho, with that passing to him will be Limited. Iheanacho's movement also kept them distracted which created room for us to cause damage. It is so simple. That is why I said you are burying your head in a sand of lies to hide yourself from the truth.

Also with iheanancho's pressing, he took away the building strength of the Algerians. Jam body is out of vogue. How many top European teams rely on that. That is why I started with Mertens for you to know Jam body is not the only way to go.

Gerrit?
Iheanacho is not an out and out striker.Finito.

So after all the movement against Algeria how many times did our midfielders feed him? None. he was anonymous. If jam body will give you goals against Cameroon then come and continue doing it, I mean what does Drogba do?

I like your last sentence.

Drogba used power against any team - Europe, Africa - getting good goal returns in clubs and national team, where he scored more than 50 goals in CIV jersey, although his WC performances were not flattering.

Same with Yakubu. Good scoring ratio for club and country.

If you are a power playing striker, use it anywhere.

When you are easily caught up in simple caging of your midfielders, there s a problem.

As bad as Yakubu was, he sometimes temporarily changed to the wings to get better supplies if supplies were not coming from middle and he cut one or two defenders to score goals.

Drogba even sometimes dropped deeper into his own half.

Ighalo should learn to do more too.

Power is an asset to him, but he could do better. The era of standing 9 is gradually fading.

PS: The coach, based on post-match press conference, was satisfied with his performance. He might have ayed strictly to instruction

No, but Rohr confirmed in the press conference after the game that Simy, Iheanacho and Ighalo are going to the WC.

Rohr:

“Simy is a good striker and offers us another kind of dimension going forward, so I can say he will be with the team to Russia as he will join Ighalo and Iheanacho as our strikers going at the World Cup,”

No, but Rohr confirmed in the press conference after the game that Simy, Iheanacho and Ighalo are going to the WC.

Rohr:

“Today, we played Ighalo and he was amazing upfront with his style of play. Last week in Port Harcourt we played Simy and saw what he can offer to the team. He played 90 minutes against Congo but today I decided to bring Musa also in that position.

“Simy is a good striker and offers us another kind of dimension going forward, so I can say he will be with the team to Russia as he will join Ighalo and Iheanacho as our strikers going at the World Cup,”

Ok... The list is still supposed to come out today ?

Exactly what I said earlier.
Sorry minus Etebo plus Ogu. Etebo can always come in as a substitute like he did today. He usually has more impact in games he comes in as a sub.

Sorry I got this Mention late but worth replying. Ogu didn't play as a LB, rather as a LCB in a 3-Man Defence. It's Idowu that played the LB on the first Half and later played as LWB in the 2nd Half.
Yes, I meant LCB. He should be moved upward. Balogun/Omeruo can play as LCB.

By the way, Uzoho will be a world class keeper. I hope we have a good tournament and he moves to another club to play top flight football.

forgiveness:

Etebo na NEPA. Off and on.
Lol most young players worse pass etebo own.
Problem is he raises the bar so high, so when he loses form it would be very glaring because he’s a player that has the potential to impact games for any team.
But forgiveness let me ask you a question would you drop etebo for aluko after all qualifying series ad friendlies? It would help understand why you are always so passionate about Yoruba players.
I’m Yoruba, love Hausas the most, most of my trusted friends are Igbo and I feel better when i see a Nigerian young talent is Igbo because they bring that assurance of quality over time atleast most of them, with th northern unique talents like musa, sadiq, Nura sheue etc and the Yorubas intelligent players like balogun, idowu, aina, kehinde, that’s what makes the team special so Why must you try and sow a seed of discomfort in matters of tribe, if you do not see all in naija has one then your no much better than these called rasicts. We are one ad that’s what makes naija giants, this your tribal conflict insistence is troubling especially on a soccer forum.
You do not want to be a troll trust me, because when you bring good analysis people will ignore thinking you’ve started another tribe war, your a man and reputation matters a lot.

He did not get the goal. I am not convinced by his movement.

He was caught offside so many times even from routine passes in the first half. Even though Iheanacho is not best as a CF, I trust him more to get a goal than Ighalo. I hope we get to see Simy against Czech.
Simy is my no.9 in a 4-2-3-1.

Iheanacho and Ighalo has failed many times in that position.

Endorsed!
In every problem or conflict there it’s advanges!
Looked like the world had ended when ikeme got sick but Uzoho I can’t believe Nigerians aren’t excited about him, coz his talent speaks for him. He’s not there yet but looks like he’s gonna be a worldclass goalkeeper before or in his mid 20s

Iheanacho needs just one chance to score but i agree, he plays better behind the striker.

Dropping Simy at this stage would be the most stupid decision by Rohr. I don't think he would that.

The player to be dropped would come from defence and midfield.

He will be.. This is not the first time that i have said it. I said it against Poland and Serbia too. He is not the finished article but he has good command of his area and all the qualities of a top class keeper. All he needs is the experience.
