Lots of people have gone so negative about the probability of our dear SEs performance in Russia. Should one blame them? No!

But I one thing I know for sure is if this team fails to win a game in the mundial Rohr should be sacked ASAP.

Believe it or not, this team possesses enough personnel to achieve a second round place in the WC despite the 'toughness' of the group, or even surpass it. But over- conservation on the current managers part is pulling things backward for the team. And this should be a certain fact if both flops in the last game get to start against Czech Republic.

Surely, Gernot Rohr seemingly lacks pragmatic thinking.

I repeat, if any of the fat guy or the clueless Torino man start next game, then we only have a half-execrable coach in charge.

Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi has suggested that he is not playing in his best position for the Nigerian National Team.

The Hale End Academy product has played in a variety of roles for club and country, including left winger, right winger, left midfield, attacking midfield and center forward, but he prefers playing in the number ten role.

''For me, I have always grown up playing in number ten, not striker but close to the striker. That has always been my position growing up,'' Iwobi said to ACL Sports.

''I have learnt to adapt to a different position, I have played left midfield, I have played central midfield, I have played right midfield.

''I have played in a number of positions but my favourite position will probably be number ten.''

Leading up to the World Cup, Iwobi is one of Nigeria's most in-form offensive players, with four goals in his last seven matches for the Super Eagles.

o boy just take things easy and be cool headed cos with they way you are going, you are gradually having a free role in the national team codedly, talk less and do more talking on the pitch

Mikel Obi and Alex Iwobi have never been played out of position in the Super Eagles. Fact

If we say Mikel Obi was played out of position because you're just seeing him play as AMF then you have have never followed Mikel Obi's national team career.

This is not the first time Mikel Obi played the AMF role. He has played in there ever since the time he was seen as the direct heir of Jay Okocha but he struggled big time initially until recently he started picking up.

Mikel Obi didn’t give good account of himself in the AMF role for donkey years until recently. Fact

Alex Iwobi is an AMF/winger though he is more of AMF.
Where was he played out of position?
Did he play as a DMF or goalkeeper that he was played out of position?

If playing Iwobi as a RW or LW is playing him out of position then he didn't give good account of himself in the the first two matches he played in that role. He was so poor and very average.

It was in the second leg of our AFCON qualifiers against Egypt that Iwobi gave good account of himself but he didn't play as a winger. He PLAYED THE AMF ROLE. Fact.

Even afterwards, Iwobi hasn't really pulled a string playing in that LW or RW.

Shehu Abdullahi has never given a good account of himself in the RB position maybe saved the match against Zambia. And how long did that take him?

After donkey years of trials and errors.

Was it not the same Shehu that caused a penalty against Algeria in the second leg?

If he has really given good account of himself, why una wan make Ebuehi take starter position from him? grin

We should not come here and be deceiving ourselves.

John Ogu gave good account of himself in what role? grin

I don't think John Ogu gave good account of himself because I saw many lapses in his game which I no go talk. lipsrsealed

I don't think even Aina would blame Rohr for not fielding him on the right. You people are just making noise out of nothing. Aina will live to fight another day. I wish him the best in his return to SE

Aina:

''It's the same really and I don't see too much of a difference," Aina told hullcitytigers.com.

"I feel comfortable on the left, as I do on the right, and I still look to take the opportunity to get forward when I can.

''It felt like I had a lot of space in that sense on Tuesday night and I enjoyed that."

No bi wetin Ogu talk before we see am land for CB?

So, because Ogu talk am mean say he is better a CB than CMF?

Players do that just to play. It doesn't mean they are good enough for another role.

Another angle to Leroy Sane's Omission from world cup squad. I heard from Brila fm that he was invited for the confederation cup but guy said he wan do nose surgery. The same nose he dey put bandage carry dey play for Manchester City. The back room staff don talk say the thing no go down well for Joachim's body. He carry am for mind since dey wait when he go hit am him own below belt. Julian Brandt answered the call, the coach don reward his royal players come dey tell us na team system. grin grin grin

You know say, people no dey think about the future when dem dey make some decisions. Sometimes this players should be given this kind of treatment to serve as a lesson to others who may feel they are invisible in team because of the Club dem dey play and how big they feel they are. Icardi did anyhow with a team mate's wife abi na ex wife. The whole team don get bad blood for am. Joachim don send his massage to his other team mates, I am sure dem go write am somewhere for dem heart for future reference and reminder. And you know the dem don give am another contract, if he does well in Euro, him go stay for 2022 world cup. And know say Germans no dey forgive easily.

Now, This brings it down to our own team, You see Players like Moses go dey form larger than life off and in the pitch. He go get ball he no go release am at the right time, Iheanacho go lose possession he no go track back go help recover the ball. Some of these actions are because they feel they are invisible in the team. This nonsense can cost a team when you meet a no nonsense team but they don't care because they know that there will be no consequence for their actions .

When a footballer knows that if he does Anyhow, he go see Anyhow, his brain go dey alright. Just like Moses who knows there will be consequences if he plays Anyhow for Chelsea and Moses who knows that there will be no consequence if he plays Anyhow for Nigeria.

Are u for real?

Sane played and won the confederation cup with Germany.

Players don't just say that. You play where you are needed in the team as a true professional. They understand they have to do their best whenever they are called to one of the roles they can play. Ogu did very well as CB in Super Eagles camp which is why I was not surprised when he played there on Saturday. Is he a better CB? it was hard to tell from the England match. Shows he showed up when called to play there. And he needed just one half, and in a big occasion (against England) for that matter to show he was also up to the task.

Besides one fine grounder pass in his debut, Aina hasn't done anything noteworthy in SE colors. Etebo isn't a CM, but he showed up when he was called to play there, even in a big stage against Barca. True professionals know this that's why they say what they say. They may have a preferred role, but they know that they have to show up when called to the other roles. So let's just call a spade a spade. Aina failed in this regard.

Come here dey speak English that it's a travesty that Aina was dropped, mbok, who is Aina that he should not be dropped? Is he Pique? Abi Walker? Or is he Marcelo?

Why is it a travesty? And what is that nonsense talk about other FBs refusing to join Nigeria because of one Aina? Is he the only FB on the team? Is it not Alex Iwobi collecting endorsements up and down? Even more than key members of the English squad sef.....if any FB has sense, won't he see how Alex is being treated? Ekong just got a Tag Heuer endorsement, maybe he was playing in Oshodi before breaking into the Super Eagles.

Me I hate nonsense talk, Super Eagles is not an extension of the Three Lions team, er must not take every England reject to World Cup just because they finally got a Nigerian passport

See as Southgate dey make me insult my guy angry....Aina, I'm sorry, you're not an England reject, okay? kiss
I wonder what he would say about Sane been dropped for Germany. Truth is Idowu's performance against Argentina sealed his place. Aina didn't wow anybody, and Echiejile is the only left footed LB we have plus his experience, longevity and loyalty to the team.

Anyone wailing about Aina not making the squad needs to check himself very well.

How dem treat am wey some people dey here dey cry? Left for me no player would be dropped out of that 25 but this is what it is. Apart from the fact that Aina has not really wowed us, the main problem I have with him is his casualness. No player in the team gives me such an impression not even Moses. on the whole it would have been fair for him to have been tried as a RB. But the question is if Aina were to be a naija born would this high cry have been heard?

Before you throw question marks at the point man's competence, you really need to assess the quality or credibility of the midfield.

Point out any reasonable goal scoring pass to the forwards apart from the one Alex Iwobi delivered.

See how Welbeck left him for dead innit for Ekong who came to clean up.

Etebo played mostly as a CMF in the U23 and he won the player of the tournament and he has gone to play that role in his club.

So, I was not surprised because that was not his first time doing it in La Liga and against England.

Besides, players are different. Not all can play different roles but they florish/florished in the only role they play/plaued throughout their lives and are the best in it especially as a RB or LB. e.g Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Marcelo, etcetera.

Do that make them unprofessional players?

If you think Ogu did very well in the CB position, EOD. lipsrsealed

At 34, he must be whacked out of his mind to think he will walk into a top team's first 11.

Aina did not grab the opportunity when it came to him. There is no running away from this. He did not clearly show that he was better than the alternative.

He is still 21 and can still improve and play many years for Nigeria. We should not castigate him too much...
