We reject 65m for Willian and in this same transfer window that bordeux winger Malcom is joining Roma and not for 50m but just 35m. undecided

You quoted a far right politician as evidence? Like quoting the leader of KKK as evidence of US govt relationship on Black people or quoting Shekau as evidence of Nigerian govt attitude towards western education

If a player born in Germany schooled all his life in Germany but the time of Germany Turkish impasse chose to identify with Erdogan as "My president" If he didnt want the backlash then don't insert yourself into political and religious conversation cos they bring raw emotions in people

Ozil is talking about institutional racism - and how much more institutional can it go?

If a serving member of Government is making such a comment, then how can you accuse the man of playing the race card.

Ok here is Angela Merkel in 2015:

“multiculturalism leads to parallel societies, and therefore multiculturalism remains a grand delusion”.

Here is Ozil on the current head of German FA:

"In 2004 whilst you were a German member of Parliament, you claimed that 'multiculturalism is in reality a myth [and] a lifelong lie.' whilst you voted against legislation for dual-nationalities and punishments for bribery, as well as saying that Islamic culture has become too ingrained in many German cities."

If you think Ozil is talking about fans in the stands or people on the internet, then you've spectacularly missed the point.

Perth 0-1 Chelsea: What we learnt from Maurizio Sarri's first game in charge
Blues off to winning start under Italian
Last Updated: 23/07/18 4:31pm

Ross Barkley impressed during Chelsea's win over Perth

The Maurizio Sarri era at Chelsea began with a comfortable 1-0 win over Perth Glory on the west coast of Australia on Monday - but what did we learn from the Italian's first game in charge?
Pedro found the net just five minutes in to the friendly contest but, despite Chelsea's dominance for the remainder of the match, they were unable to find a second against the A-League side.
Here, we pick out some of the early signs of how Sarri's Chelsea are shaping up…

The return of 4-3-3
When Antonio Conte switched from a 4-3-3 to 3-4-3 early in his first campaign, it was heralded as the tactical change which put the Blues on course for the Premier League title. It was Conte's favoured formation and he set about drilling his team to play his style of football.

The system didn't click as effectively in season two - although an FA Cup win ensured there was more silverware - and new boss Sarri has wasted no time in refreshing Chelsea's set-up in his first match in charge, fielding a 4-3-3 in Perth. With full-backs Marcos Alonso and Davide Zappacosta in slightly deeper roles than their more familiar wing-back positions, the onus was on Chelsea's wide forwards to work the flanks and youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi caught the eye on the left, while Pedro enjoyed success drifting in off the right to support Alvaro Morata in the box.

Chelsea set out to play with a high tempo, with Ross Barkley and Cesc Fabregas conducting the play ahead of new signing Jorginho in the midfield trio during the first-half. While substitutions affected the flow in the second period, this felt like a distinctly different approach to performances last season under the more cautious Conte.

Callum Hudson-Odoi was a threat throughout the first half

Stationed on the left of the Blues' front three in the first-half, Hudson-Odoi proved to be a real handful for Perth's right-back Scott Neville, confidently running at his marker at every opportunity. He had almost instant success when he beat Neville and crossed for Pedro to volley in Chelsea's opener. The youngster had weaved his way into space again a few minutes later, but sent his cross deep when his team-mates had come to the near post, while he just over-hit a through ball for Pedro after leading a rapid counter-attack. A selection of tricks, flicks and dummies through the opening 45 underlined his confidence.

Off the ball, Hudson-Odoi looked to come in off the side-line and run in behind the Perth defence - on one occasion David Luiz almost sent him through on goal - while his pace will be a vital attribute down that flank. Sarri, who substituted him at the break, will have been encouraged.

David Luiz is back

Between a knee injury and falling out of favour, David Luiz played just 839 minutes of Premier League football last season. The indication from this opener in Australia was he is fit and ready to play a more important role this time around.

David Luiz missed much of last season with a knee problem
The Brazilian, who missed the World Cup, marshalled the Blues' largely untroubled backline alongside 17-year-old Ethan Ampadu and showed off some of the positive passing which previously persuaded Jose Mourinho to play him in central midfield. There was one reckless moment, when a rash and off-target challenge on Fabio Ferreira earned Luiz a yellow card, but the signs are the centre-back is back in contention for 2018/19.

Jorginho slots in on debut

Jorginho was an integral part of Sarri's Napoli and the £50m signing slotted straight into a holding role in Chelsea's midfield on Monday. Jorginho controlled Chelsea's tempo in the first 45 minutes....Dictator rather than destroyer, the Italian, who has been likened to Andrea Pirlo and made more passes than any other player in Europe's top leagues last season, shuttled the ball from Chelsea's defence to their more creative attackers.

Jorginho rarely strayed ahead of midfield partners Fabregas and Barkley in Perth, but was the central figure until his half-time substitution, instigating the Sarri style on the pitch.

Barkley makes his mark

Ross Barkley was considered one of the bargains of the January transfer window when Chelsea signed him for £15m from Everton. But come May, after form and fitness had limited him to just two Premier League appearances for his new club, Barkley's future at Chelsea was far from certain. Barkley excelled in an advanced position in the second period...… A new manager has given him a fresh start, though, and the 24-year-old looked desperate to seize his chance in Australia. After an encouraging first-half, Barkley became the Blues' main man after the break when he was pushed into a more advanced position. From one of his many surging forward runs he scuffed a shot against the post before twice seeing efforts blocked in the box. Throughout the match Barkley's passing looked sharp as he fed the ball through the Perth defence, handing Pedro, Morata and substitute Mario Pasalic the chance to try their luck.

He really should have capped the performance with a goal, poking wide after a smart turn in the area, but Barkley did more than enough to show Sarri he deserves opportunities this season...

Thanks for this. It seems scoring goals will still be the team's problem this season. Maybe Batshuayi will suit Sarri's style.

Most definitely.... With no natural scoring midfielder in the team like lampard to depend on, No winger or player from the flanks and definitely not Morita as a striker.... I really do not see how we can score goals with the players that we have on ground.

While Terry was actively doing his escort service on the field

Thanks for elaborating his uselessness with the gif shown.we all know a good midfielder will try to shoot or cut those 2 rushing players and shot with weaker foot instead trying the safe option by to passING .

Nothing is guaranteed in bpl ffs. I expect Sarri to finish top four, and maybe push for the title like other top 6 teams would. Even if Liverpool or City beat us to the title, no problem, but us being in a position or having results that will result to a Mou kind of sack undecided

Yes he may flop, I dont know which one is woefully but you mentioning Klopp and Poch doesn't add up, will their teams have done better or won anything without them.

Pls we are still talking about. Chelsea right

And Ozil disrespected Germany how again?

According to Oma akatugba on his twitter feed, Erdogan is a tyrant/bad leader/enemy of most european countries grin hence Ozil's picture with him was somehow a show of support to the kind of leadership Erdogan does even tho Ozil claimed he dint take the picture for political reasons. Oma also believes Ozil is playing the racism card also instead of simply explaining himself to the FA when he was asked to explain the pictures. He also feels the fact that most german players havnt come out to support ozil buttresses his point.

Personally, i feel Germany just wanted a scape goat for the poor performances at the WC and Ozil fell prey to that.

You can check Oma Akatugba on twitter to see his views also. He is a nigerian sports journalist based in germany

I stand with Ozil regardless, he shuldnt be singled out for the team's general poor showing. That's what all this is to me

Greetings!

Kante and the third man will play slightly ahead of him. He'll play almost like a third midfielder. And he's no pusssy defensively too.
but Kante is a DM na, why would Jorginho be playing behind him?

SarriBall needs a regista, a deep-lying playmaker.
In Napoli, Allan is a DM, but Jorginho played behind him.
Kante can do his screening job slightly ahead of Jorginho, while the latter effectively distributes the ball and keeps things ticking over.
Meanwhile Kante can get back when we're defending, obviously.

People that expect Sarri to fail are those who watch football with their brains off, even those with their eyes closed understand better.

Sarri is going to pick the best possible XI and best possible style and approach based on the players he has available.

Comparing Sarri based on titles with managers that have managed title winning teams is the level of backward thinking that makes a normal human being have an abnormal thinking that Kane is better than Tripper because of goals scored.

Did Napoli win more games under Sarri than in their past seasons? Yes.
Did they spend more under Sarri? No.
Apart from Juve, did any other team win anything in Italy? No.
Apart from Allergi, has any other manager being the best in Italy in the past 3 seasons? Yes, Sarri.

Pep that won 2 UCL when last did he manager in a UCL final?
Before Zidane won 3UCL what had he won before?

If any must be a pessimist then STFU and keep it to yourself. It's not everything that must jump out of your head.

You are the one thinking with you anus if you feel anything good is bound to come out of the haphazard way we ended last season and with the way we appointed the next coach, Slow movement with the transfers and start of the pre season. A lot of seasoned professional who know their onions have already been shouting 'Sarri Needs time' before he even managed his fist official game because they know he is already at a disadvantage.

I'd rather be cautious and expect nothing when we clearly have failed to plan! than to expect good things and end up disappointed.

If Sarri had toppled Juve with limited resources then i would be seeing the special thing in him. I almost did it is not the same as 'i did it'.

If you lack the balls to mention/reply people's comment then maybe you are not a man atall. Oh wait, you were once a female on these boards. STFU or make your comments without the stupid jabs. its a new season, dont be moving mad around here for no apparent reason.
