Series A Most tactical league grin grin?

Anytime I feel like sleeping and I don't want to use valium5,I will just tune my TV to serie A,five minutes later,I don sleep...extremely boring grin grin
LOL... In addition, their stadia are always empty. Italians hardly watch their league. C. Ronaldo was the perfect signing Seria A needed.

Tactical not necessarily the most exciting

Talking about about exciting. I happened to watch a bit of MsL recently because pre season football is quite boring. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of football I saw, especially from LA galaxy with Zlatan and Gio Santos.
All the teams want to keep it on the floor and score as many times as they can.
Very exciting stuff.

You saw a good game. Some games are actually good but that is not always true. I stopped watching MLS a while back. There are some low quality matches that will make you wonder.

Americans are not that big with football. Infact, i remember when i was in college, the football matches were free to watch in the stadium so as to encourage people to come.

I agree, could be the good games that I have watched. The problem I have seen with their games is the lack of good defending. They all go gongho, trying to outscore themselves.
Atlanta is a other good team with Tata Martino their boss. Their center forward Martinez is like goal scoring cheat code.
Even a geriatric David villa is still putting defences to the sword. That should tell you everything.
Regardless, there are lots of comebacks, 4-3 scores and things like that.

Should tell you how unserious we are with football back home. I mean why on earth should the league go on break for the world cup when the league only produced one reserve keeper at the games. Many leagues around the world played on despite the world cup being played.
A match rusty Enyimba will not perform any magic.
Funny enough their is no end in sight when the league will resume.
Absolute Shambolic stuff. I really wished FIFA banned Nigeria, never knew Infantino was a coward.

20 year old Nigerian striker Taofiq ‎Jibril has joined top division Portuguese side Portimonense from third division side Vila Real, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The forward who arrived Portugal in 2016 for trials with SC Braga but later put pen to paper for Boavista in a move exclusively announced by Owngoalnigeria.com on the 4th of November 2016 signed a three year deal with Portimonense.

Already he has started his career at the club with two goals and three assists to his name for the U23s. A form which has earned him the step up to the main team as they prepare for the start of the top flight league in Portugal.

Taofiq was a late omission from the Nigeria U17 team that won the World Youth Championship in 2015 ‎, but he has since move on from the disappointment of missing out of the chance to showcase his abilities to a global audience.

Quick, strong and composed in front of goal, the Kaduna born forward is expected to add quality to the attack of Portimonense in what will be their second straight season in the top flight after their promotion just before the start of last season.

Sadiq Umar will be a handful to defenders in the Scottish Premier League (SPL) when he hits full fitness according to coach of Rangers Steven Gerrard who handed the on loan Roma forward his debut in yesterday’s friendly game against Wigan Athletic.

Rangers won 3-0 against Wigan in what was their final pre season game ahead of the start of the SPL next weekend and Sadiq was handed his debut by the coach of the team.

He was introduced in the second half and the 21 year old gave a performance which was overall pivoted to the improved ‎second half display which saw them put three goals past Wigan, and Sadiq was heavily involved in one of the goals.

Although it was later credited as an own goal, the towering forward headed home a cross which was bound for the net before it came off the head of a Wigan defender who was trying to defend against the big striker.

Speaking on his performance Gerrard said, Sadiq will no doubt get better and rate his performance as encouraging considering the fact that he is yet to hit full fitness.

“He is still finding his feet and he is still a little bit rusty and trying to find that sharpness, but you saw glimpses of what he is about and I love it when he is aggressive, on the front foot and putting pressure on people”, Gerrard told the official website of the club.

“He runs hard and he is aggressive with and without the ball. You can see there is potential in there for him to be a right handful, and that is what we want him to be.”

Again, very constructive and balanced. I hate bias

tbaba1234:

Umar is faster, more direct and will create more chances.

Tammy has a better control and is a better finisher.

I can't put one over the other right now, it depends on the trajectory of their development.

Don't sleep on Umar Sadiq though, he is a baller.

Ebuehi is likely to be out for an extended period. With surgery, we are talking 6-9months.

From the Leicester friendly against udinese musa looked quite sharp might have unfinished business in the EPL after all.

Happy to hear from preliminary reports that it seems Isaac success has given himself brain and is taking his football career serious pray his descent preseason translates into a good full injury free EPL campaign

Does it always have to be the top scorers? Sl you are going to overlook the rest based on 2 players? Lets get real here.
They're meant to be our best strikers. Sure external factors might be taken into consideration, but it doesn't look good at all.

Does that change the fact that players like Odey and Alhassan are doing well in Europe? Must all our players play in Europe before u agree that we have some special talents at home. All this downgrading of people based on X and Y is ridiculous, u are using 2 players to downcast the entire league.

Not just two players, but performances in continental competitions and views from people who watch the league.
Can you honestly say our league is Top 5 in Africa?

The general is the problem, not individual players.

By the way, Odey has not been particularly great. He started only 3 games last season and scored 2 league goals. Most of the time, he was a late or unused sub. This is the Swiss league, we are talking about here.

He has started the first game well this season, hopefully it comtinues.

We can run down a long list of outstanding league players who could not cut it in Europe backwater leagues and we do not have to go too far back.

As a whole, the group is poor. There are inevitably some good players but there is plethora of low quality players in the league.

Is that not the same kind of season Sadiq Umar had? 5 goals as a starter or 3 goals as a sub will always be up for discussion. Now with a year which was his first overseas under his belt he has established himself enough to start and score in the biggest game so far in the season. So let's just say he is on the right path.
Apart from him we can add Phillip Azango, Afeez Aremu, Chima Akas and Alhassan Ibrahim just from last season.
If a guy goes to Vietnam to feed his family that is not my business. My point will always be that we have some super talented players in Nigeria that all the corruption in the world can't kill. That does not mean that we don't have mediocre or one hit wonders but that is everywhere. Poor coaching didn't hold back Ahmed Musa or Etebo so why should you people downgrade NPFL players without even giving them a chance to prove if they can be the next Musa or Etebo.

Musa was very sharp indeed. He almost made an assist but the keeper got down to save Iheanacho's shot. Apart from that he was a handful running at defenders.

The situation Isaac was in can now be seen as a blessing in disguise. Everything was almost taken away from him and that made him focus and work harder. I hope to see the best of him this season.

Nope, Sadiq Umar was the rave when he went to the eredivise. He made a strong impression in Holland. He helped create goals for his team as well.

The league is supposed to be the bedrock of the national team. Who are the promising players coming up for Nigeria? How many played in the league?

Iheanacho: Never played in the league
Awaziem: Never played in the league
Uzoho: Never played in the league
Simon Moses: Never played in the league
Ndidi: Never played in the league
Etebo: Played in the league
Onyekuru: Never Played in the league
Isaac Success: Never played in the league
Shehu: Played in the league
Samuel Kalu: Never played in the league
Olayinka: Never played in the league

What exactly is the value of the league if it is not producing enough options for the senior national team?

I think the rise of football academy really had negative impact on NPFL cos agents believe better to get them from academy due to low transfer fee and not really about talents cos talents abound in NPFL.

Sir we just have to wait for the league to commence though good to see them shaking things up in pre season.
