What is your medical status reading after eligibility review started?

blaqnony:
Very long post! I applied on the 1st of May. I applied for a Masters of Law in University of Saskatchewan.

The documents I used are:
The normal CIC forms.
I got a 20k scholarship from U of S. Though I got later got bursary and offer as Graduate Teaching Assistant which I didn't include in my application and never bothered to send to CIC.
A sponsorship letter from my employer stating that firm intends to take care of my flight ticket and other miscellaneous not covered by my scholarship.
Admission Letter.
My Employment Letter.
Police Clearance Certificate
Transcript and all my academic certificates.
Letter of Purpose and Explanation especially emphasizing why I must do my program in Canada as such program in research is not done in Nigeria and not even in the US. I think my strongest ñoint was my statement of purpose and explanation. At least I can write well.

NB: I didn't include personal assets, statement of account or even that of a family member. No paystubs. While filling the form, I didn't include the end dates for all my employment history, including the present one. I sent about 14 mails to different Canada embassy offices, and about 6 webforms when I was waiting for them to send me a medical request. I even told them that I am running out of time to make my travel plans.

Did Biometrics on the 3rd of May, updated the same day. Then my trouble began. Lol. Long wait was really a serious trouble. Friends that applied were getting updated nothing for me and thats where the real problem started. My BP got so high. Finally on 24th of July, I got medical request. I couldn't go for medicals till 1st of August for some reasons. I later went and everything went right except that my BP was high. 152/90. I was never a known hypentensive. It all boiled down to high BP garnered over the wait period for my approval. The doctor asked me to wait for sometime. I repeated it, the same thing. I was asked to do 3 more tests, Electric Cardiograph, Echocardiogram, and Serum Creatinine Test , and then get a cardiologist report which cost me a lot. On Friday I got the report from the same hospital.

Just yesterday I did a mail to the hospital to enquire why they haven't sent the medical report, they generated it yesterday night and sent to them. Then today, my medicals was updated as passed ND in less than 1 hour an approval and request of original passport.

In all it was about God, I did countless fasting and praying, sowing of seeds and all that. Especially when the reports I was getting here were not favourable.

Bye and large, I think it is most appalling to see us trying to compare our application with others. That alone is enough to increase your BP and can even cost you your success in medicals or at least extra expenses for further tests that is even costlier than the medicals itself. Quit worrying, your worries can't change anything. Rather it can even kill your hopes of having your studies abroad.

Please those going to U of S can you hit me up! All the gurus in the house thanks for all you do here. I quite appreciate Hardy and Nyjunwa for sharing the email addresses I sent mails to. 15 weeks no be beans o. grin We expect more approvals here soon.

This bp of yours you had better treat well. Take up running or other exercise as a positive addiction while in Canada in addition to hitting the books. It will save you a world of trouble. Life in Canada is not easy and presents its own different sets of hurdles. Mighty Congrats to you and honored and humbled to be mentioned in your TRV story.

I don't think he has BP issues, if u check his bp now, it's most likely to be 100/70 . I think it was as a result of tension and stress. I had same issue when I went for my medicals too, mine was 152/80 at first. So I did the water therapy stuff before going in to see the doctor, she checked twice which read 142/80 and later 138/80. That was how God saved me from seeing a cardiologist. Ever since then it's been 110/80-100/70

Hello everyone, sequel to my previous refusal on not being able to astisfy the VO that I will leave after my stay based on personal assets and financial status, I couldnt wait to order the gcms note since resumption is really near. I have been able to gather my landed property and dad's property documents and also a new SOP and LOE (To tackle the refusal ground). I will very much apprecialte it if the gurus in the house can kindly help vet my SOP and the LOE before I make my re-application.
@Jnyuwa02, @Frankrobbn1, @blaqnony (since you stated that you are a good writer), other gurus that can help me pls.
Thank you for your time and assistance in advance.

Good morning everybody and Gurus in the house.
Please I need your candid opinion.
I applied for TRV and was denied. But my concern now is that with the kind of application I submitted I don't think the VO went through my application. So am contemplating on contesting the decision.
The reason they gave for the refusal is that my home ties in Canada and Nigeria, my financial and personal assets even when I attached my landed property gifted to me by my dad and dad's landed properties and a letter to show that i am the one managing dads landed properties, paid for my tuition, paid for accommodation. Sponsor is my brother and he did a transfer to my account for my living expensive and my cosponsor as well.
Please I want to know if its possible for me to contest the TRV (student) because someone told me I can only contest if it were to be PRV. Pls how through is that. cry
And I think those guyz in Kenya are just being naturally wicked to Nigerians

Yes, it changed at the same time, but u did upfront medicals, and as gurus have been saying passing an upfront medicals isn't visa guaranteed.

God, please I need your grace this time.

To contest a VO’s finding, you have to sue them to court in Canada. If you are not an immigration attorney yourself, you have to hire one who will represent you through the judicial review process which is a two stage process and can be very expensive. One person on this forum went that route of contesting the VO’s decision and was successful. Took him 8 months and cost him almost $3500. But he was successful and issued a visa after less than 10 minutes interview at the Canadian High Commission in Lagos. If you don’t have that kind of money and time on your hands, your best bet is to refuel and file another application and tackle grounds of denial using a powerful SOP to explain better your circumstances.

Good Evening house. I applied for study permit 4th April, got delayed 29th May. I decided to reapply cos of the generic reasons stated as insufficient funds.
I reapplied 13th of June, but just out of curiosity, I decided to order my gcms to see why I was rejected. Please find them attached.
The recent lump sum the VO is referring to is matured TB that entered the account, also it was reinvested immediately so it left the account again.
My dad is my sponsor. He does contracts and he is a retired Finance Manager from a construction company. (Retired 3 years ago)
In his avidavit of support he stated he gets money from contracts, haulage (truck particulars and insurance were submitted also) housing rents, share dividends, he also submitted his CAC documents, tax clearance certificate, TIN and C of O of his houses and their approved drawing plans.
But from the VO’s perspective he has little idea what my dad does. Please Jnyuwa02, Mcobex, Frankbonn, all the attorneys and gurus, please help me analyze this note and suggest a better route to follow in case my current application doesn’t run through. Thank you
.
Hi Lotusboi,

Since you've submitted your application, you should be optimistic and be hopeful that everything turns out well.

Hello @jnyuwa02, I will like to send my new SOP and LOE to you so you can help proof-read them before I refire.
I will really appreciate your time and effort please.

jnyuwa02:

You can take the chance and apply without Gcms notes. Some have done that in the past and succeeded. Given resumption is close as a matter of fact, I will recommend you do so because many times GSMS and refusal forms often are in line and touch on the same things. You will need a strong SOP convincing and assuring the Canadian government that you intend to depart Canada after your studies. Yes refusal “based on personal assets and financial status” is absolutely a refusal based on ties. These ties don’t have to be in Nigeria. They can be anywhere as long as they are outside of Canada. No they don’t require you to apply in Nigeria. Where you are currently applying is fine.

Wheyme:
Hello @jnyuwa02, I will like to send my new SOP and LOE to you so you can help proof-read them before I refire.
I will really appreciate your time and effort please.

A SOP and LOE at the same time is unnecessary. Write only one and cut the chase. Be concise, short and straight to the point.
