obaaderemi: I told you you're Somali lashing out like a female! Learn to avoid ad hominems-make your point with logic;that's always enough. 2 things happened the past 2 days reinforcing intelligent opinion on this topic. We revived Kenya national shipping line NAIROBI, KENYA: A deal for the revival of Kenya National Shipping Line (KNSL), which is expected to create thousands of jobs at the Coast has been signed. The company's revival is expected to create 10,000 jobs in the region and save the country Sh300 billion annually, money normally lost when using other shipping lines. The firm will have the sole mandate to handle cargo.Read more at: https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/article/2001292304/uhuru-witnesses-deal-promising-jobs-to-kenyans Even if we manage 70% of that in 2 years its still a massive amount that will tell on the ground. Otoh this is you: The Nigerian National Shipping Line (NNSL) was established by the Nigerian government in 1959. Despite heavy investment and subsidies, the state-owned company was unable to compete with European lines. Much of the investment went to enriching the political elite.[1] Deeply indebted, the NNSL was liquidated in 1995 and all 21 of its vessels were sold.[2]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_National_Shipping_Line Now,Lebanese,Indi.....s and Chinese control your shipping according to your own people! Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho, the former Minister of of Interior and former Vice President of the Shipowners Association of Nigeria (SAN) has expressed concerns that Ind..., Greek and Lebanese expatriates are dominating Nigeria’s coastal shipping business. According to Iheanecho, this contradicts the Coastal and Inland Shipping Act (Cabotage), which endeavours to protect and profit Nigerian citizens who own ships....As a result of a lack of financing, Nigerian shipowners are left with deteriorating ships which the oil companies and other business providers refuse to work with, and this further edges them out of business, making more room for foreign domination......Earlier this year, in April, reports indicated that the Federal Government loses N1.8 trillion yearly by not doing business with indigenous ship chandlers. This loss constitutes almost half of the federal budget, which indigenous ship operators, if empowered, could put back into the Nigerian economy.http://venturesafrica.com/how-coastal-shipping-in-nigeria-became-dominated-by-foreigners/ We admitted our shortcomings in this area and have made serious moves to rectify the situation. Meanwhile,19 "dominant" Dangotelanders, living 10 to a room were arrested by the cops. They were up to their usual 'creative' genius, though tbh they look like your Ibos. To many who know the operations of these guys, this is a no shocker, Nigerians like Chinese nationals have flooded the country, they’re all over Eastlands, it is so real that Roysambu is being referred to as Nigeria ndogo given the huge number of them residing there.https://www.chapchapmarket.co.ke/faces-of-19-nigerian-scammers-arrested-in-roysambu-nairobi/ I actually sympathise with you:you're both angry and powerless to do anything to the people who put you in this sorry situation so you project your unhappiness at us Kenyans. That provides much needed if only temporary emotional relief therein worsening the problem which is never confronted head on. Your stats chief Yemi Kale in the meantime has provided a mirage so comforting and dangerous he should be publicly burned alive for his falsifications! Did you see how the nigga 'recalibrated' your unemployment? Basically the definitions were all changed to pad the figures: NEW METHOD: Unemployed = work less than 20 hours per weekhttps://africacheck.org/factsheets/factsheet-how-nigerias-unemployment-rate-is-calculated/ Ours is 40% since self employed on family farms are classes as unemployed. YES,WAYYYYY TOO HIGH DUE TO COLLECTION METHODOLOGY USED! The survey, released yesterday, paints a grim picture of the country’s unemployment levels, while shattering the 40 per cent unemployment rate myth.Read more at: https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/article/2001274158/the-shame-of-jobless-kenyans The report suggests that the unemployment rate for the entire population has come down to 7.4 per cent from 9.7 per cent in 2009 and 12.7 per cent in 2005. https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/article/2001274158/the-shame-of-jobless-kenyans Using a new method, Nigeria's official statistics agency announced that unemployment stood at 7.5% for the first quarter of 2015. Previously it would have been 24.2%. Here's what has changed and why. Kale shouldn't be the sweeper/doorman or messenger in any org serious about stats-IN DANGOTELAND HE'S YOUR STATS CHIEF!? Imo,his lies may be worse than the collective vicarious wankfest you get with Dangotes's wealth! On paper, thanks to Kale's treason you're punching near Turkey's level with a 700 bn $ gdp, revenue 190 bn$ and budget of 209 bn$. REALLY,NIGGA!? If we used his methodologies we'd declare our GDP as 200 bn$! But we're honest,we know what we must and do and make the effort. We have major challenges political, economic and social but we're making real progress growing 5-7% annually: rvp20182 had this graph I agree with wholeheartedly! Kenya GDP - past and my own projection. Ofc, SA will grow but by 2045-2050 we'll be the largest economy in Africa thanks to small yet significant steps. Fyi,15 years ago their gdp was 175 bn and now its 317 bn$;basically doubled while ours has grown 7x,nigga!! Rmbr, you read it here first! At least you'll still be ululating over Dangote. 1 Like

Obi1kenobi:The problem with you is that you talk too much and easily forget what you say. Then when you box yourself into a corner, you start twisting. Like a salted worm. May I remind you this is not the first time I will be dealing with you on a similar case of your highfaluting errors. I'm sure you remember. I digress. Now, let me remind you of what you posted. It's there below: Obi1kenobi (m ): 8:33pm On Aug 18That was what I bolded and it's a strong enough point for me albeit an error of ignorance on your part. Please, look at this quote from a CNN 1996 article and correct your ignorance about hong Kong and China: http://edition.cnn.com/WORLD/9612/30/hong.kong.prepares/index.html According to a just- released survey, more than half of those polled now say they want to join China after 1997, and 45 percent now approve of the provisional legislature chosen for them by Beijing. That was before Hong Kong passed to China. And I don't really know what you mean by saying 40% of Hong Kong is pushing for autonomy from China. Hong Kong has been autonomous for over 100 years. The two countries today are more inextricably linked than ever and both are really enjoying the benefits. Look at this extract below. It's from KraneShares, an American financial journal: The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) is the sixth largest in terms of market capitalization. The exchange is unique in that it lists 1800 companies overall, of which 800 are Hong Kong based, 900 are Mainland Chinese, and 100 are international. Yes Hong Kong wants a lot to do with China. For 900 Chinese companies to be listed in Hong Kong! The other point I bolded in your initial post is this: Obi1kenobi (m ): 8:33pm On Aug 18That's some serious prejudice against your own country and helps to explain one of the reason the country is the way it is. In which other African country have you lived or rather how many? For you to know that no country can be more corrupt than Nigeria. Kenya for your information is far more corrupt than Nigeria. . This was the same way you were working hard to put your own country down on university ranking the other time until you were busted and had to skunk off. Nigeria's population is both a curse and a blessing. It depends on you as an individual. Which other country in Africa has wielded the kind of political power Nigeria has in modern times. Think of Liberia, Sierra Leone,Congo, Sao Time and Senegal. Even South Africa. 1 Like 1 Share |

obaaderemi:Bro I love how you are dealing with these inconsequential hungry and poor Kenyans. I have always told them that no Nigerian gives a Bleep about them. Ask any Nigerian in the village about Kenya, he would reply if Kenya is a country but ask hungry kenyans in their slums about Nigeria, they would tell you A-Z about Nigeria. We don't need to try hard to prove a point about Nigeria unlike other tiny countries like poor Kenya and Ghana, our 37th state. Na other countries dem for Africa dey rush us, we bad, we do this, una still dey find us come our forum, Nairaland. obaaderemi: I remember no such time. You might have to jog my memory.
The overwhelming majority of Hong Kongese support their autonomy from Mainland China. There was never a place I said 40% want autonomy from China, so you might want to reread what you quoted again. I was speaking of those who want independence and sufficiently stressed the difference, so I'm not sure where your strawman distortion came from. I'm not sure why you are focused on Hong Kong either when I also cited Taiwan. Or Tibet. Autonomy and independence as I'm sure you're aware are different concepts.
More like a serious dose of reality. And it is not one of the reasons the country is the way it is. On the contrary, insufficient pessimism, anger and revulsion at the decayed cesspit Nigeria is is precisely why Nigeria is the way it is. Many cite the failure of leadership. But leaders in a democracy are products of their environment. Nigerians, as many here demonstrate, have a peculiar knack for whitewashing the profound failures of their society. Many are out of touch with reality. This is why Nigerians are willing to lynch and roast a petty thief, but prostrate and debase themselves before the REAL thieves who have stolen our futures away with their greed and venality. I refuse to paint a rosy picture of a country where people pay as much as $3,000 to traffickers to lead them on a perilous journey through North Africa and the Mediterranean to Europe. I know what Transparency International's corruption index claims, which is precisely the reason I said I don't give a shiit about their "perception" studies. It is impossible for any country to be more corrupt than Nigeria. If Nigeria's population makes the country ungovernable, it's a curse. It's not a blessing in any tangible way. We are a regional power at best: a natural consequency of being the most populated state in an impoverished West Africa. I just don't see how that is anything to brag about. 4 Likes |

kikuyu1:Oh, Kikuyu1, you finally found enough materials to post a rejoinder 48hrs after acknowledging reading my honest and factual exposé on Little India's economy. But despite the long time it took you to compose a rejoinder, you still failed to do justice to it. At least I salute your courage and patriotism. Africa needs more people like you. . I digress. To the points! Firstly, you signed a deal to revive your defunct shipping line. I think we should see it in operation first before you start rejoicing. Besides, national shipping lines are no longer in vogue. Such sectors of the economy are best left in private hands. I am disappointed you could praise such a move and believe it could help your economy. Your polithiefians have taken you for a ride again. . And shipping like everything else in Little India is controlled by foreigners. Take a look at this: https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/article/2001231921/sea-workers-petition-parliament-over-exploitation-by-shipping-firms At the same time, KSCA, the sector's lobby group, also wants Parliament to enact laws to bar foreign shipping lines from opening subsidiary firms, which it said have edged out Kenyan-owned ship contractors. What again did you talk about? Our overzealous IBO brothers getting arrested in Little India. Yes it happens. The Igbos are a great tribe but they've got their bad apples like everyone else. Just like you've got some of your bad apples in Tanzania and Somalia. What else did you talk about? Yeah, I got it. You talked about becoming Africa's biggest economy I. the future. Never gonna happened. I listed the reasons for you 48hrs ago and you promised to address them only for you to start posting pictures of Nigerian bad apples. Again, a country can never be rich selling flowers and avocados. You need serious manufacturing and financial muscles. Look at your useless banks for example. They should be everywhere like the Nigerian banks. These small steps matter when you place. to dominate and grow. And you failed to address your crippling debt issue. That debt issue alone will stop you from growing at about 60% of your GDP. And over 50% of your tax revenue go into paying debt. Kolewerk, like we say in naija. Your corruption is another problem. A third of your budget is stollen every year and bribery and cronyism is rife. Look at what this hallowed Little Indian has to say about your corruption: Third of Kenyan budget lost to corruption: anti-That was Philip Kinisu talking. He should know. Tanzania and Ethiopia are already edging you out economically in East Africa. Can you see that you need to do a lot if your dream of becoming Africa's biggest economy is to materialize in the next 100 years. 3 Likes 1 Share |
