Imagine an investor that is very impressed with this thread and is very encouraged with the things that he or she was seeing about Igboland. Then all of a sudden they get to the part where you and Ofodirinwa posted gruesome pictures including pictures of dead and beheaded people. Do you think that investor will feel encouraged to invest in Igboland after that?
Please go back to those pages and delete those pictures you posted. Lets bring back respect and sanity to this thread. Thank you

Forget that guy bros. I've come to the conclusion he's lost a few marbles, so i just scroll down from his posts. How can someone who claims to be a human being, never mind being Igbo, keep a file of dead kinsfolk and disgusting old pics of cities and towns in Igboland in readiness to upload them in the name of e-fight!? This leads me to believe he's not actually Igbo!

Without even asking, the mods ought to have removed any gory pics he's uploaded and ban his quarrelsome arsse till the second coming of Christ! But they wouldn't do that for obvious reasons!

If i were to put a Igbo hater in his place and give him the abuse he so richly deserves, come and see how they'll come out from hiding and ban me with immediate alacrity!

I'm i the only one that is thinking that Enugu should stop playing safe and should actually try to build a few white elphant projects to give the city a new outlook. I mean go the route of Akwa Ibom or Cross River and built something gargantual that will finally put Enugu where it is supposed to be. I also think there should be a concerted effort at attracting investors into the state to provie employment and increase the purchasing power of Enugu residents. Are you aware that there's no functional cinema in Enugu while the one in Owerri is still functional and you would think that Enugu people will have more purchasing power.
The cinema thingy you stated quite beats me too. Why Genesis closed shop in Polo Mall is still strange. What with the urbane and elevated life Enugu residents live. I was still home last Xmas and was super impressed with the mindset of Enugu residents.Lots of diasporas were around but there prevailed a sort of refined influence in the city. Having said that,I think the New Conference Center which was once stated here the governor intends to complete fits into the bill. With the Conference Centre and Hotel Presidential in the pipeline of being completed, there will be some elevation and high net worth attracted further to the city. I also recall Chimaroke started building multiple complexes (Medical School,Hospital,Hotel,Recreation centre and Civic Center) along Rnagers Avenue using Marlum Engineering Company before EFCC swooped on him and confiscated all those iconic projects. Not forgetting Rainbownet and Cosmo FM.I just wish all the aforementioned alone at least will be completed and handed over to reputable facility management companies manage and evaluate. They are capable of elevating Enugu further.I hope the espionage of Gburugburu who peep at this thread will take this vital intel to him. It is time to run governement like a business.

Not in use yet......

why are the street lamps too much on the bridge? With what is happening in Ebonyi state, I just continue to feel pity for Abia and most especially Anioma but one thing is clear, if Ebonyi can get this much development in just 3 years, then there is hope for the total transformation of Anioma for the better, we just need an Umahi or Obiano in delta.
Pls you guys should remember that pics of Abia are missing on this trend.

I also think the same thing about the conference center. i think it will contribute in giving Enugu a facelift. There's something about Enugu that i can't seem to get my hand on. I think it's re;ated to the fact that despite the exposure of Enugu residents, they tend to be conservative unlike people in Owerri. That's why the only cinema in the town can just close down like that.

. Talking about the dominant conservative trait of Enugu residents, based on observation over the years,i am inclined to believe the different Igbo stocks have their distinct habitual peculiarities. Enugu has a feel of typical Belfast. Highly conservative, yet so livable, exposed and taciturn all in contrast with a bustling and almost mad saxon city of Manchester. I am yet to lay my hands on sound intel why Genesis closed shop. It may be related to other reasons but has absolutely nothing to do with a subjective trait of the residents. I was informed people come from all over the South East to chill out in Enugu so there should be reasonable mixture of traits that add more fire to the human rendezvous of the city. I know Broll Property Managers is the evaluator and managers of Polo Mall.I happen to know some of their directors and will even ask for update on the sad end of that cinema.

I wouldn't use the word white elephant because it has a negative connotation but yes I agree that Enugu need more Aesthetic projects. Projects that will uplift the image and beauty of the city in the Minds of outsiders and potential investors. The International conference center should be the start for those types of projects.

I actually used the word "white elephant" because of a lack of a better word. I understand it's negative connotation.

Enugu has all the basics that a Nigerian city needs. All it needs is to up the ante and it will displace most cities at it's level. Imagine, in addition to the conference center, theme park is built, an Obudu like tourist and A MASSIVE world class hospital. Enugu also needs to built a few highways. it seems Abakiliki is even beating it in this area whivh is one of the features of being a big city.
