Where exactly within Nsukka campus do they intend to erect this building? Aside Vet,Agric Faculty and Green gate area,is there space anywhere that can take this massive structure? Meanwhile,is the Maryam Babangida theatre still abandoned or being constructed?

Apart from those places you mentioned, there are still enough spaces to erect the structure..That place were Maryam theatre is located still has large expanse of empty land..Pius Anyiam was erecting a big structure there too but I think work have stopped on the project. As for the new Senate building, I just hope it's not a way for them to loot some money .There are already many uncompleted big projects in UNN and UNEC too which if it were to be completed the school won't be were is it now.

As for the Maryam theatre, the project have been abandoned since..There is a rumour going round saying that it was abandoned because they did a poor work in the foundation and that the building is collapsing because of that.Nobody knows the actual truth why it was abandoned.

As for the abandoned Maryam Babangida auditorium, same weak foundation story was circulated during our time. An excuse that is as lame and ridiculous.Only in Nigeria do we hear such lame excuses. If the foundation is weak, there are a million ways to shore it up and these include redesigning of the base, installing core reinforcement columns and pillars both on the base and the sides etc. Such excuses dont fly in the face of current advances in Civil and Structural engineering. Politics has always been in the details. If completed, that 7000 seater auditorium would have been the biggest in Nigeria and arguably Africa.
Recall that Nnamdi Azikiwe Library is the largest University Library in Nigeria and was vigorously pursued and completed, against all opposition by Dr Sam Egwu when he was the Minister of Education strictly as a legacy project.
The burnt Engineering laboratory is still not restored and Chemical Engineering department cancelled as a fall out of the Civil war is yet to be allowed to resume again. Hell will freeze over for the teleguided NUC to grant such approval again. I wish our people will really understand the depth of conspiracy going on in Nigeria especially as it affects us.

The theatre is massive and would have been an iconic one if it were to be completed. There is already civil engineering laboratory.I heard that the faculty were planning on adding another department of mechatronic but I don't know how serious they are with it..

Nice meeting a superlion, which department did you finish from??

I have debated this with coneheads, IGR doesn't measure economy, in 2012/2013 Ebonyi state was 6th position in IGR among states in Nigeria, highest in Southeast, in poverty prevalence, Ebonyi recorded higher, Ebonyi IGR then was bigger than Anambra, Kano, Enugu, Ogun and other bigger economy states, Enugu generating more IGR now doesn't mean they are the richest.
Lol. Rich state does not imply state with rich people but state with higher resources at their disposal so anambra is a very poor state

Mechatronic cannot take the place of Chemical Engineering. Fluid Mechanics, just like Strenght of materials are some of the core engineering areas every engineering student is taken through. Fluid Mechanics is core of Chemical Engineering and one of the best brains in that field,Professor Agunwamba was my former landlord. Not having a chemical engineering department is a limiting factor if you understand the complete engineering processes. I was of department of Economics class of 2008 but have since acquired further interests in designs and facilities management. Nice to have you here too. Keep repping.

A flyover is a form of bridge which crosses over another road or rail line to ease traffic while a bridge is a structure built to connect two sections or points which have been demarcated by either a river or any other natural body, so you can see that the guy you quoted and called ignorant is actually correct in the sense that Enugu only has more bridges than flyovers or no flyover at all.
From this your statement " But if you are arguing based on about flyover in strict engineering sense then enugu has one (at 9th Mile) and that's the only one in the east", you are very wrong because Ebonyi, IMO, Anambra and even Anioma all have flyovers, at least one.
Lol. You are a layman. In strict highway engineering sense a flyover is the opposite of interchange but laymen call everything flyover that's the point I was arriving at. Those you mentioned are interchanges which enugu has more than ten. Go to 9th Mile and observe the difference but if you can't i will explain later. Flyovers and interchanges are grade separated intersections.

See Obosi's aerial view looking well arranged and beautiful like some European cities. All Onitsha metro needs are more paved streets, covered gutters which will act as walkways, repainting of the houses and maybe tree planting and we will successfully have our own Barcelona in Anambra state. From this pic, it is clear that Onitsha metro has better arrangement than the likes of Florence, Rome and Venice but lacks the popularity and environmental orderliness when compared to those European cities I mentioned.

Enugu state is a very poor backward state filled with primitive low awkward poor people. Enugu state is worthless and useless, they are more or less hausa-igbos. They contribute nothing as a people to the igbo cause.

Enugu state is very low in development.

Enugu state is very low in education

Enugu state is very low is wealth creation.

Enugu state is very low in human capital development.

Enugu state is very low in all the indices of development.

So it is not by mistake that people call Enugu state people inferior and low class Igbos.

Enugu state has the lowest educational rating in the SE, so you don't expect illiterates and low class Igbos like ogbuefi2020 to understand something as simple as this.

Oga, i'm not from the SE, yet i know the state with the biggest GDP in the region. Just like i'm not from the SW, but i know Oyo state GDP isn't bigger than Lagos.

Everybody knows Anambra is the biggest GDP in the SE.

Even non-Igbos who desperately hate Igboland know that much.

In NL, people do all sorts of argument to tease you and laugh at you trying to prove the facts to them. So you do not need to waste your time arguing with people who would argue that Zamfara economy is bigger than Lagos. They are laughing so hard that they got you to waste your time and effort searching to prove to them what they already know.

Exactly!

This is true of all the other states in the south east as well. Individual effort is miles ahead of gov't effort. Our govt's just don't have the required funds to take governance to where it should be....and we're talking of billions of dollars worth of infrastructure that needs to be put in place!
