Wow, I dunno one can change status easily from B1/B2 to F1 visa like that. I guess it won't requires coming back to Nigeria to visit the embassy? If yes, whats the probability that the status can be changed so easily ?
You can change but it not that easy, and it takes months to be confirmed, a friend was on it for 7 months.

Hi guys, I was recently refused visa.

I would like to ask for recommended answers to what this course (computer science) will do for you. As the VO felt my response wasn’t convincing enough.

You want us to tell you why you chose a course? This is very ludicrous. Can you possibly come here to ask us why you chose a wife from a multitude of ladies out there? This is tantamount to what you have just asked us.
If you can't provide that basic answer, you better change your program to one where you have a ready answer to the question.

On the flip side, if you had come up with your own answer, we would have assisted you to fine tune it. That's basically the purpose of this thread- guidance and information, NOT spoonfeeding.

Hello everyone, I have some questions, and I will appreciate if I can get some answers.
I have a friend who wants to study medicine in the US, but we saw that she can't apply for medicine directly and she needs to study a lower course before going to medical school.
My question is; Should the lower course be a B.Sc degree or a A.S??
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by 30watts: 1:40am On Sep 27, 2018
Check the requirements for the school your friend is planning to attend.

In order to apply to medical school in the US, her first degree has to be a bachelor's degree. That being said, unless she has a parent or sponsor who is extremely wealthy, studying to get a medical degree in the US is extremely expensive. Most Americans cannot afford it and have to take loans. The average debt for a medical graduate is almost $200,000 (https://www.studentdebtrelief.us/news/average-medical-school-debt/). That's minus the loan/debt for the first degree which can range from $24,000 - $50,000. Also, since she will be an international student, she will be eligible for only private loans which have much higher interest rates (note that her tuition as an international student will also be higher). Paying back the loan isn't an easy proposition. My candid advice to her will be to obtain her medical degree from Nigeria (skip NYSC) and then take the USMLE steps exams and apply for her medical residency in the US. That way, she can circumvent having to take such huge loans and the great burden that comes with paying back the loans.

I am glad to be in this forum!
Good morning great people, sorry my questions are always behind but that's for the meantime.
Quickly,I have my Bsc Second class lower division (2.2) from plant science and biotechnology,I am aiming at pharmaceutical biotechnology, biomedical engineering or medical mycology. Is this achievable with my GPA? If No, which course is your advice?
Secondly, must I take toefl and gre or only toefl?
Lastly, must I get my transcripts and toefl English test score ready before applying?
What's your advice people?

US does not look at your class of degree (that's British system practiced in Nigeria). You will need to convert your GPA to a US scale in order to apply. The standard admission benchmark is usually 3.0 but a few other schools also accept GPA below that standard mark.

The only reason you need to worry about your GPA is when you are seeking for funding, otherwise, you're almost always eligible for US admission except in extreme cases where you have very poor GPA.

Regarding TOEFL, Nigerians are not usually required to take the TOEFL since we are an anglophone country. As for your transcript, it is a crucial part of your admission process, you can't avoid it. You should now research to know if your school accepts official or unofficial or evaluated copy.

A question I have always wanted to ask off the bat, is what are my possible chances of getting a visit visa for the United States for conference

- I work as a solutions architect / pentester
- I'm not married
- I have some landed properties (apparently being a next of kin to my father)
- I have a Bank statement of about 8.7million naira balance
- I have a conference invitation for Pen testing (Kali Linux etc)

What are my possible chances

Your GPA is good enough for admission into some US schools. As for your second question, nobody will do that research for you. The good thing is you can get suitable schools when you search on google and then you can show us what you've got so we advice you.

The beauty of this approach is that it helps you to answer certain questions regarding your application process during interview.

interviews are highly subjective depending on the VO you meet on the interview day ....... which means absolutely not body can predict possible chances . The best you can do is to follow the thread focused on visiting visa and learn a thing or two . These post here is for student visa , there is another one for visiting visa
