Where is this silly talk of "if Ighalo and Nacho fails to score in the Libya games, they should both be discarded" coming from again?

I thought it is only Ighalo that plays up top as the Number 9 naa? In the last game he played as the no 9 with Nacho playing behind him as makeshift AM. Is it not the duty of the no.9 to get the goals? Nacho behind Ighalo produced an assist off a brilliantly taken freekick and folks here are feeding us lies that he got involved in goals or assists for us since November last year and worse, they are roping him in with Ighalo for goals responsibility. When did we start playing 4-4-2?? Lol... It is 4-2-3-1 and Nacho played behind Ighalo and got an assist for his troubles. The onus is on Ighalo getting the goals not Nacho... Why? because Ighalo is the team's number 9 not Nacho in the 4-2-3-1 set-up.

Let us be fair in analysis abeg. When Nacho failed to deliver as a no 9 against South Africa no one roped in someone else. No one called Ighalo. But now that Ighalo has been so poor in the GWG in terms of goals return, they wanna rope Nacho into the equation too. Is this not another form of attack on the young man? What is his business with Ighalo failing to find the back of the net?

Nacho has not scored a goal and have shown poor form in terms of goals return this year... that is true.. but he has been involved directly in two goals via two assists with the last coming against Seychelles.

Nacho offers a genuine goal threat for the team and this is obvious most of the times the lad dorns the GWG. This is not about Nacho but about the Health of the team. ARE WE GOING TO IGNORE OUR HIGHEST GOALS PRODUCER UNDER GERNOT ROHR (6 goals and four assists) because OF A FEW PAST BAD GAMES? IN OTHER WORDS, ARE WE GOING TO CAST AWAY A YOUNG STAR WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED DIRECTLY IN MORE GOALS THAN ANY OTHER SUPER EAGLE UNDER THE GAFFER SINCE 2016?

Be team conscious and not player-conscious. A player that is vital to the team is a key part of the team. In fact, he among other vital players are THE TEAM and it will be foolish to destroy that.

Now quit the Nacho witch hunting (either in subtle or apparent form) and focus on the best of the team even if it means admitting that Nacho is still very much important to the team. The truth won't hurt if you just let it flow "gently". wink

Now saddle up... We got a game to win on Saturday and must support whoever get out on that field of play. We are the Super Eagles.

Funny ppu,so u guys re now claiming iheanacho is not part of d players responsible for scoring goals again grin grin grin, whenever he scores, he's a 9,if he doesn't score,he came from England to Nigeria only to assist grin grin grin

We can't feign ignorance to d fact dt dis two players are our no 9 players whenever dey re in Nigeria

Dis year alone, d two player only played twice together on d same pitch, and dt was against Poland friendly and Seychelles qualifier, dis re d two matches I can say nacho didn't play as our point man

Every oda matches played dis year, its eida ighalo plays while nacho Sit,or vice versa.till we realise dt we need to give odas chance to showcase what dey have, den our chances of scoring goals with dis same guys is slim cool
dont be a clown Bro lol, check the scorer log under rohr and tell me who’s leading? Nacho!!! And let that sink in.

i have been hitting on the issue of billing anyanwu here for sometime and it still baffles me that a player of nigerian origin who is one of the emerging midfielders in the epl is yet to be approached till date about the possibility of changing allegiance to play for us.

this kid is playing week in week out, shunning out good performances in the toughest league in europe and is the shinning light of relegation threatened huddlesfield this season but rohr is is yet to atleast make a move on the lad. we will only get serious to lure him when he eventually signs for one of epl's finest and gets a call up from the danish national team selectors. he plays in a position where we lack quality personnel whereas someone like aging john ogu is still getting called up while half baked nwakali jnr have already had a sniff of the team.

we need to swallow our pride and reach out to this kids who i believe will make the team stronger and more competitive. i know we can't get them all but we should grab as much as we can in order to widen our pool. the french world cup winning team was made up of 95% players of african ancestry so i see no shame in our pursuit of our sons who are born and breed out of the shores of nigeria and africa.

yea you are right but i have not followed him closely since he left on loan to sheffield wednesday. i only mentioned players that i have been following this season

I watched him since he was 15 at Tottenham then he was full of tricks and show boating.

He has matured and is more about end product, vision and impacting the match to have dominant control.

I am Not a fan of YouTube clips they can easily be contrived, but you should see him playing for England U21.

One thing that irks me most is our inability to learn from our past mistakes and we are hell bent on repeating them all over again and we expect to make progress.

SMH.

Prior to 2014 worldcup and post 2013 AFCON our strikers then(Emenike and Ideye) were experiencing goal drought we kept faith with them and were expecting a miracle from them at the Mundial. Late Keshi then dropped Ideye for a certain Shola Ameobi(a player who had 1 professional goal in 2years). These two players were preferred ahead of a red hot Obagoal who was turning heads in the MLS for Seattle Sounders. We all knew how the whole thing panned out. We qualified cos of luck and nothing more(to those who will like to dispute that should remember that, had Dzeko's goal had not been ruled for offside, your guess is as good as mine)

Fast forward to 2018 same scenerio played out both Ighalo and Kelechi were poor for the national team and we were all hoping they will hit form at the World Cup. You and I know how that too ended.

My major concern now is us sticking to these guys despite them not delivering post Russia the way we did with Emenike. Someone needs to sound some notes of warning to Rohr. We seem to be towing the same part again.

The federation too are not exempted from this attitude. They toyed with Alaba in 2007 today it is Eze I just hope we won't look back and regret it.

Make I stop here jare.

I'll like both Ighalo and Nacho to be excused from the national team if they both fail to deliver this coming double header. No one has the sole ownership to the national team.

Wishing them all the best.

Agreed without reservation

Bigger SMH for you people. You remind me of Oliseh when he was talking big on Super Sports about Keshi's team, the day Pinnick mistakenly gave him work, my guy enter team scatter everything come leave Siasia make e use eba join wetin e scatter

Talk is cheap.

You are talking of problems and you are not preferring solutions. If Ighalo and Iheanacho are excused, who you wan use replace them? Which strikers do we have doing it big? Do you think it is easy to remove players and replace them?

So, after the double header, our next game against SA, you will bring in NEW, UNTESTED, UNPROVEN strikers and HOPE they score goals on their DEBUT for the National team? Where in the world are things done like that?

Please, give us a list of five strikers that can replace those two, so, we will see how to reason with you.

See me clapping.

Asking for players to be thrown away without replacement. Lol.

Just yesterday charlsemeka was saying also that we should do away with likes of Ogu, Onazi, Mikel and Joel. Ok, name replacements asides Eze he was mentioning Billings and Ejaria. Players that don't even have Nigerian passports yet.

I particularly like those 3 words u used NEW, UNTESTED and UNPROVEN. Those are the kind of players that are always the best players for them. Nigerian fans will not cease to amaze. They will not learn. That is why every World Cup we keep producing the youngest team with an inexperience tag, calling them a team for the future. Only to throw them out again looking for another group of "young, Hungary fresh bloods".

I am whole-heartedly with Rohr on his players selection. The only player I wished he had included was Ebere Eze. Team building is a gradual process. Massively throwing away old players and flooding the team with new players will only cause more harm to the team.

Safari like a quote you made recently " there is no best player anywhere ". This same Iheanacho they are attacking if he was not playing for the Super Eagles yet and is posting this same kind of performance at Leicester City we for no hear word here. They would have hyped him to high heavens and even threaten to kill Rohr if he doesn't Cap him.

please do not quote me out of context, i never said that john obi mikel should be dropped ooooooo, i only mentioned onazi who is a shadow of his old self and a 30 yrs old slow john ogu who is yet to contribute anything tangible since he he joined the team during keshi's era.

i only suggested that since we lack quality in the midfield that i see no reason why young and energetic midfielders like ejaria and billing who have been doing well this current season should not be approached to change allegiance to nigeria.

lol bow to iheanacho 10x facing east lol you make a fair point i agree some praise of KC has gained tended to hero worship. However my point is there are two sides of the extreme instead of the middle ground when it comes 2 KC's matter either extreme beef or extreme praise that will make you think whether iheanacho is the second coming of maradona

What we do is create a singular standard for KC and a different one for everyone else.

I said ages ago the true test for KC is when he leaves city and goes to an average team. Where he is not surrounded by world class players which complement his attributes. That has happened and the results are clear for all with objective eyes to see.

To whom much is given much is expected

After KC transfer £25 million or thereabouts to Leicester, this is his second season and he has scored 4 goals in the EPL. Now for a player who was bought as a striker, if we are to be honest that's not a good return.

Now if you are to be objective, true and honest and say things as they are, you will.be labelled HATER, TRIBALIST, HYPOCRITE, etc, etc.

Now what would you specifically call that return on your £25 million player investment

Just to correct something in ur post...

It wasn't Brendan Rodgers that fell out with Sakho.. it was Klopp.. Sakho broke the rules and was punished.

Oh yes correct my mistake.

I use to see Sakho in training then, he still had French plates on his Range, still very humble and down to earth.

Many other players would have psychologically been broken.

Sunderland forward Josh Maja is reportedly a summer transfer target for three Premier League clubs.

The 19-year-old forward has made a blistering start to the season scoring nine goals in 12 League One matches.

Maja's goals have fired Sunderland up to third in the League One table and he currently sits top of the divisions goalscoring chart.

Unsurprisingly, his form has attracted potential suitors and a report in The Mirror this morning cites Southampton, Tottenham and reigning Premier League champions Manchester City as interested parties.

Maja is out of contract in the summer and if the Black Cats cannot tie him down to a new deal soon, they run the risk of losing him for a small compensation fee.

It is one of Sunderland's top priorities to sort out Maja's future with both the club and Jack Ross stating they want him to stay beyond this season.

Maja himself has admitted he would be open to negotiate a new deal but with big clubs sniffing, he is free to talk to other clubs in January before potentially leaving at the end of the season.

Speaking last month, he said: "It would help everybody if we could get a resolution before January.

"For the club and for him, it would help. You want the removal of any uncertainty, and if we can do that as a club it would help us and help Josh as well.

"Naturally his start to the season has just heightened the attention around him, so we want to make sure he stays here at Sunderland and that he plays a part in the clubs' ambitions.

"He'll have decisions to make when that comes around, but one thing I think about him is he is happy and enjoying his football.

"Hopefully, as a young man, he is not too much of a rush to get somewhere he may get to eventually if he keeps doing what he's doing."

Maja will miss tonight's Checkatrade Trophy clash with Carlisle with an ankle injury but is expected to be fit to return to the side for the trip to Shrewsbury later this month.

You see situation and the NFF is asleep.

I would rather have an active roaring lion scoring goals from the lower league than anonymous mouse from the EPL who has done very little.

There's still at least two years time available. England will not invite a player not in World's top league. Bobby Reid, last season and Tammy Abraham are examples.

4 goals is not a bad return na, unless u have a very high expectation of him. How many has Vardy scores? If you are talking of last season then you are on point. But KC has had a poor return for the SE so far this year. For Leicester, KC has been pretty good!

that is how you all called Mikel slowbie and bench warmer and accused him of killing all our games, today who is praise singing Mikel?

This idea of throwing people out anyhow is the reason we cannot have a decent national team. This Ahmed Musa everyone is praising was once the butt of jokes, he was once running around like a headless chicken with no end game. There was a time once Ahmed Miss holds ball, everybody go siddon because e no dey enter net.

Today, he is the one you people are using as example for Kelechi and Ighalo. Forgetting that he was once Kelechi and Ighalo, imagine if we had sent him out that time? Do you remember the numerous calls to have him axed? Do you remember when he was the one on the bench? The one whose inclusion was questioned? Today old things are passed away and Ahmed Musa is a hero.

You see what happens when a player is allowed to grow without throwing him away? The only reason why most people give Kelechi a pass over Ighalo is because of age. Kelechi is still fairly young, he can still grow, Ighalo is nearing the end and it is hard to see growth for someone close to 30.

This you people's throw them all out suggestion is poorly thought out considering you can't really find prolific strikers that are Nigerian. I am still waiting for AIG07 and his list of strikers that will replace Kelechi and Ighalo. Feel free to assist him

I wonder who's throwing who out. Ahmed is a consistent baller for us today. We're happy. But was he thrown out then? No. Iheanacho is not a fringe player he is an integral part of the team nobody is throwing anybody out However, he can be relegated to the bench.

Not too long ago KC was worth near £30 million with a multitude of suitors. Within a season that view has changed dramatically. That's football.

When the NFF had Iorfa on thier Radar he was the considered one of the best young CB's in English football invited to train with the first team, winning MOTM awards as a teenager in the Championship.

At the time he committed to the SE he had just finished with England U21 two summers ago and still a regular for Wolves.

The Wolves situation has resulted in a FA investigation and claims of conflict of interest with the way Super agent Mendes has run Wolves. A club that has more Portuguese players than Benfica and Porto.

Currently l would be hard pressed under current circumstances to invite him. However, he is in a very unique situation of which his football is not the main issue.

Aneke was the stand out player in league and is now the stand out player in league two for MK Dons.

Iorfa is simply a player denied opportunity stuck in the politics of big money football.

It reminds me of when Brendan Rogers fell out with Sakho at Liverpool. Nothing to do with football he then went to Crystal Palace and the rest is history. I watched him training with the U23's for ages he did not loose quality just denied opportunity.

You didn't dismiss KC when for almost half the season he was relegated to playing with U23's you still reference to his exploits in Manchester city. Nobody talks about a goal tally of 4 goals in the EPL for a supposed striker. He has been called a flop in many circles not here. We still call him deadly striker.

What you have done is to create a hypocritical double standard.

How many goals has Isaac Success scored in.his third season in the EPL❓ But I see how you jubilate with unrestrained euphoria when he plays. That's double prejudiced standard.

I always say I would rather have a roaring lion from a lower league who is standing out and making waves than an anonymous mouse in the EPL
.

Chai! Dere is God oooooo! grin na mouse you call dem dem. shocked angry grin

Kai we still dey scout for #9? A top class #9 cannot he hiding now. They should be painting whatever league they play with goals. They should be stand out players. Truth is if you remove Ighalo and KC, we will have to fall back to familiar names, Kayode, Ujah, Nwakaeme, Odey? and a few others. If you have to comb every backwater league searching for a #9, it means that player does not deserve a look in, in the first place. Anyone calling for dropping both players, should be able to suggest replacements from the top of their heads.

My take, Ighalo and KC are the most consistent goal scorers in the higher leagues. We have no option but to be patient with them until Kayode and co start to score consistently.

But safari,in all fairness, dis two players are part of d problems we re having when it comes to winning matches

Btw ighalo and nacho...both strikers at d moment share just one goal within demselves in d year 2018 alone. It is abysmal... This guys re not doing deir job,am sure if u run a company with dis two guys as employees, by d end of d year when u re evaluating each department, u will get dem FIRED grin grin,I think I support AIG07 on dis, even if we get to win d two double header against Libya and d two players fail again to score, den I don't think it will be wise to keep calling "barren" strikers to d National team.dey gave ighalo/nacho chance to proof deir mettle and we av seen d result so far, most especially ighalo,.let d coaching crew give odas chance too

Rohr and his scout shld comb home and abroad for two or three no 9,by d time we test all,we will get a better replacement. We shld stop recycling mediocrity cool

There is no guarantee KC is always gonna start under Rohr.

I wonder who's throwing who out. Ahmed is a consistent baller for us today. We're happy. But was he thrown out then? No. Iheanacho is not a fringe player he is an integral part of the team nobody is throwing anybody out However, he can be relegated to the bench.

honestly forgiveness I will stop engaging you in football debates somebody did well in a tournament in 2004 and you are now saying he only started doing well 2009 haba Na! Fear God small

You can not compare Odenwingie of 2008 up with Odenwingie of 2004. No no.

He won Nigeria player of the year around 2008 -2012. The difference is clear.

Well from ur own assertion, we can only hope and pray dey deliver by scoring goals, but God forbid if dis goal drought still continues btw dis two players till next year

Are we still going to call dem up base on deir previous performance or hoping dey would still come out better most especially IGHALO? undecided ,3YEARS 3GOALS? undecided, relying on dem for goals in AFCON? undecided

Dt was y I proffer d solution of giving some players d chance and let c,not until we try dem out,we won't knw if dey re better or not(eida backwater or anything)

The National Team is bigger than Individual players.
Shirts should only be reserved for the BEST and those who CONSISTENTLY deliver results.
