please someone should answer me ooooo @frankrobbn1 pls assist thank you Good cgpa first , it should be 79.2 on a scale of hundred I am afraid nobody can tell you explicitly what you want to here. We are not on the admissions committee but vaguely speaking you can get because you meet the admission requirements and it is largely dependent on your ability to find a supervisor. Except you get some kind of entrance scholarship which is highly competitive and depends on if there are students with a better profile than you in your intake. Since it’s research your going for my advice email professors widely even when not mentioned on the school website. Widely I mean most or every school that has your research interest. Like bioengineering and all. Remember mails are free so don’t hoard them. |

Dear Frank, thanks much for your response. Her husband won't be going with her and they also have properties and farm which would be in care of her husband while she is away. The initial plan was for her to be a self sponsor plus her husband co-sponsoring.as she has worked foe over 13years. I want to clarify if you meant its better for her husband to act as the sole sponsor.... She'll like to send you her LOE/SOP for proof reading if you don't mind... Frankrobbn1:
Hello Labims,
Having 2 sibling's residing in Canada is a very strong tie to Canada. Therefore, the onus is dependent on the applicant to show sufficient ties to her home country that can compel her return after studies. She has a lot of work to do concerning her home ties compared to an applicant that doesn't have anyone in Canada. Her reasons for coming back must be very rational and well substantiated in her SOP. That being said, it would make a whole lot of sense if the sibling over there in Canada writes an attestation/reference letter addressing it to the consular officer. That the sibling will be responsible for her accomdation, feeding and other miscellaneous expenses incurred by her during her studies in Canada. This at one point will reduce the financial burden for the sponsor. Also, I would advise the applicant father, or hubby to stand as the primary sponsor to her visa application as this will make her application stand out.
I wish her the best. |

Hi nairalanders, I am a silent reader. I got to know about this group 6weeks ago. I got approval for student visa this morning and want to share my story. I graduated bachelors in technology in Aerospace engineering india on that 31th of may 2018. I graduated with first class with gpa of 9.4/10 (or 4.7/5 Nigerian equivalent). I got admission to do my master in aerospace engineering for fall 2018 at concordia university. I applied for my first Canadian visa with 6 weeks left on my indian student visa. (At that time the processing time in india have climbed to 7weeks). After 5 weeks I withdraw my application in order not to overstay my visa which will be a very bad thing for me and came back to nigeria. I defferd my admission to winter 2019 and applied for study permit in Nigeria paper route on Sep 17 ,2018. I started reading nairaland and boy O' boy i got freaking scared. After 5 weeks i got tired of all this and applied for fall 2019 intake at the best aerospace institute in france . This morning I got approval. Sidenote: I am not religious and the constant reliance on a supreme being to help your visa chances in this group got me a bit irritated. But I respect everyone's view and perspective.
Timeline: Degree: masters in aerospace engineering Submission date: 17 Sept 2018 with upfront medical and bio. ( I used the one I did in india for both medical and bio) Submission type : paper route Linked my application on the third day Eligibility review started on the 22nd October. Approval on 2nd November Time taken 6 weeks and 4days 12 Likes |
