On a lighter note, you are one of those not patronising 'Made In Nigeria' products. But from a very reliable source, a tier-1 bank in Nigeria wants to acquire Diamond Bank. onegentleguy: |

dipoolowoo: Perhaps this official release from the bank might interest u !! https://www.diamondbank.com/publication-news-media-purported-talks-access-bank-plc-acquire-diamond-bank-plc/ That said, here is a brief of what we've heard in the last few days; There is presently a serious board/in-house tussle. ...with key stakeholders divided along interest lines. In retrospect, the banks biggest core investor- the Carlyle group pursued and brokered a deal to recapitalize the bank by another foreign entity (for which they have an interest) But some key drivers of the board are kicking against it. (the MD/CEO at the forefront of that, with his refusal to bulge to a few conditions, including but not limited to the timeframe within which he should step down) While there are still members of the board who are in support of the said deal (fund injection by an unnamed foreign entity), there are also others who are against it. My source says that the core of the last board members who recently stepped down (including the chairman) are among those in support of the move. ...no wonder the many denials, misrepresentations and misinterpretations from even among the key members of the board. So basically, its a divided house !! We shall wait out on the side line to see how the 'series of this movie' unfolds. Regards. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The case of DIAMONDBK is what FELA referred as "Deadi bodi get accident yeepa" "Confusion break bone yeepa" "Na double Wahala for deadi and the owner of deadi bodi" My candid advice is for their shell-holders to flee and ask questions later. We already hv enough problem in Nigeria not to come and carry Dozie family own join. Thank me later. *ThE OcToPuS* 6 Likes

fxuser: throwback to 2014: Global alternative asset manager, The Carlyle Group, invested $147 million in Lagos-based Diamond Bank PLC. The Nigerian financier said this in an official press release on Monday. The investment which came through the Bank’s recently completed $305 million rights issue, is set to improve Diamond Bank’s Tier 1 capital. This will strengthen both its balance sheet and support the bank’s continued growth plans. “This investment is a testament of the Bank’s strong brand and success over the years, particularly in the Retail/SME space,” said Uzoma Dozie, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Bank. 4 Years After: Carlyle is not Happy . . and wants MD out ASAP before injecting funds nxt yr ! (They own 20%** ish of d bank , so dem get mouth for board) Why d Acquisition/ Rumours: Sharks can smell blood in d water, deriz no better opportunity than a disgruntled large shareholder. it's not only access looking ! MD is been difficult so game may get a lil dirty to get things moving Lemme stop here 1 Like |

@Yariya. Unfortunately, you could not decode what I meant by 'better' in that context. Let me make it clear now, 'Better' as used in my earlier sentence is directly the opposite meaning of the word. I hope you get the drift now. Make people no go accuse me of passing wrong info tomorrow. Regards Yayira: |
