EEGA: Stop trying to bring a player down okay You denied it before but your words here says it all Someone came from Villarreal academy and he is making the first team because he worked hard ,why are you trying to use it to dis another player because he plays for the Turkish league ? Even if you hate a player try to be sincere okay . Chukwueze is yet to play 20 career games ,please give him a break okay. 1 Like |

komekn: See the comment that you quoted in the first place, please wasn't he talking about their goal return? Then you called him a joke and brought up wingers that scored 5 goals in a whole season, who exactly is the joke? andrew444: You probably think David Villa was a winger for Spain. Some strikers just like operating from the sides does not make them wingers, Marko is not a winger straight from Stoke City. In fact he plays more as an AmF than a winger 3 Likes |

EEGA: The one thing that is constant about the NFF is that there is no CONSISTENCY in selection, no clear parameters of measurement. It's all down to subjective judgment. In the context of Nigeria when things become subjective with no clear cut defined parameters then if it can be abused, It will certainly be abused. A player pitting in top quality performances can not come to national team for a week or two training and become RUBBISH. Then a player who has done litter ot nothing becomes better, possible but highly unlikely. Then bring into the situation our penchant for favoritism, unwholesome practices and the scene is set for people like Salisu to thrive. Do people think Salisu is alone in this kind of behaviour. Players will never tell you what happened in camp in the public arena. Maybe when they retire but not before. 2 Likes |

We have already called up a lot of local players, but many of them end up going to Europe. Sometimes I feel like agents just want to bring them to the national team to make it easier to sell them,” Rohr nailed it.... waiting for oga Basco to come refute this assertion. 3 Likes |

komekn: So u are implying that the NFF is largely responsible for drafting out the list of players to be called up? BTW, Sheyi Ojo that you seem to clamouring for doesn't meet any of your requirements for national team selection... I'm sure u are aware of that... 4 Likes |

andrew444:I say things the way it is. Call a spade a spade. After the Nigerian Argentina game I argued in this thread that Idowu unlike Ebuehi does not get involved with wing plays and does not bomb forward nor boss his flank.I also added that he is too defensive minded and more suited as a LB than a LWB but most of us were carried away by his goal. No one has hyped Onyekuru like I've done in this thread. 1 Like |

andrew444:Omeruo is good but lacks pace, they say he neutralised Griezmann against Atlethico but failed to cope with Percy Tau's pace. The difference b/w Balogun and Omeruo is that Balogun covers up his lack of pace with excellent positioning and intelligence coupled with his superb ability to read the game. |

The vice captain of the senior national team of Nigeria Ahmed Musa scored his 5th league goal for Saudi Arabia side Al Nassr which handed them a 1-0 win over Al Shabab. Musa scored what ended up as the winner for his team in the 35th minute to increase his goal tally for the season since his £16m move from Leicester City in the summer after his fine showing for Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia. Already analyst in the Arab nation have already tip him to finish as top scorer in the league as he just two goals behind leading scorer Bafetimbi Gomis of league leaders Al Hilal Riyadh. Musa’s team are second on the log, two points behind Al Hilal Riyadh who have played a game less but are top of the pile on the strength of a winning run that has seen them pick up five straight wins. In a poll conducted by top journalist in the country Musa came out top in a list of players who are viewed as too good for the league due to their quality which can earn them a contract with top European teams. |

Danielnino00: Of course the NFF officials and back room staff have influence on who gets in, it never has been one man alone in the name of Rohr. What is the criteria ![]() Is the same criteria that brought then academy player Osimhen and the far from remarkable Nwakali brothers, etc. The same criteria that brought in Iwobi before he played one game in the EPL. So what exactly is the criteria that excludes Seyi Ojo ![]() 1 Like 1 Share |

Humility017: This is not just an open secret but more or less established fact. One of the things I have found with consistent regularity on this particular thread. Is the refusal to accept plain truths and facts. When you talk about age cheating people scream and shout Hatred and prejudice. As if it's not rampant infact it's more than rampant it is in every facet of life across Nigeria and established practice. But we pretend or prefer to live in deceptive delusion. The purpose for every NPFL player ultimately is to get to Europe by any means necessary. Whatever it takes. That proposition creates opportunity for people like Salisu to manipulate the situation for personal gain. I personally know agents who had some incredible influence on players selection in the past. NFF has been corrupt has it all changed because Buhari has come ![]() Integrity is not often served as a regular meal on the Nigerian dinner table. By the way I have worked in Nigeria before and I talk from personal painful experience. Because the NPFL has not created a structure that is transparent and equitable that creates opportunity for our players to be nurtured and developed to be able to be competitive on the global stage. European football is just as bad, that's where the corruption was birthed. 1 Like |

and so what about that? wont it better if the team has a large pool of players to pick from if injuries creeps in or as well add competition for places in the team? ojo is 21, have good number of games under his belt in the English championship, played few matches for liverpool's first team in the epl with cup games and is currently seeing playing time in the french ligue 1 so he deserves a chance. we are not Brazil nor France of this world so we have to accommodate as many players as we can. what of if ojo metamorphoses into a star player tomorrow? you guys will be d same to cry foul here of how he was ignored we he opted to play for us tbaba1234: 2 Likes |

charlesemeka85: The point is simple. Focus on the priority areas. Sheyi is not a priority right now. That is not saying, he is a bad player. He is young and can potentially be important in a few years. Right now, he simply does not bring anything new to the table. 3 Likes |
