ifyboy60:Not true. I know 4 people in the British army with due discharge dates of 2020, 2021 and 2019 respectively that resigned and became civilians from 2017. Yes, they have been to Afghan, Berlin and Cyprus on mission on different occasions. They are all technically civilians( living and working as such) but are still in as " Reserves" . 1 Like |

THE ONLY WAY TO STOP ALL THESE NONSENSE AMBUSH AND SUSPICIOUS ATTACKS ON OUR JUNIOR ARMY OFFICERS IS FOR BUHARI TO FORCE ALL HIS SERVICE CHIEFS INCLUDING DEFENCE MINISTER AND OTHER TOP MILITARY OFFICERS TO GO TO THE BATTLE GROUND AND JOIN THE JUNIOR OFFICERS. SINCE THEY BELIEVE THAT THEY HAVE EQUIPPED THE JUNIOR OFFICERS WITH THE LATEST AMMUNITION, LET THEM GO AND JOIN THEM. IT IS POSSIBLE THE JUNIOR OFFICERS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE THE AMMUNITION PROPERLY. LET THEIR OGAS LEAVE ABUJA AND GO JOIN THEM IN THE FOREST SO THEY CAN USE THEIR EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE. I AM 100% SURE THAT IF THE TOP MILITARY OFFICERS ARE IN THE FORE FRONT FACING BOKO HARAM, THERE WILL NEVER EVER BE ANYTHING LIKE AMBUSH. NEVER. YOU CANNOT BE FORMING OGA IN ABUJA WHILE YOU SEND JUNIOR OFFICERS TO THE FOREST WITH USELESS AMMUNITION. GO THERE AND JOIN THEM. I TRUST SOMEBODY LIKE PUTIN, HE WOULD HAVE SENT ALL THE GENERALS TO THE BATTLE FIELD. I DON'T JUST UNDERSTAND WHY NIGERIA IS SO FULL OF SHI.T 1 Like |

Racoon: The funny thing is that people like you used to defend the Federal government and the President when PDP was in power. If Atiku and PDP take over tomorrow, you will start again to defend the federal government and Atiku and start calling these soldiers unprintable names just like in the past. It is not as if you cared about them, it's always about power grabbing. It's like a cycle |

Raiders:You call them rag tag as they called ISIS, Alshabab of Somali rag tag and the way Syria rebellion stated with rag tag groups. What about Liberia NPFL and Serria Leone rebels? They all start as a rag tap group with some of them well trained and snowball into 70 to 90% of them well trained. Bokoharam is no longer a rag tag terrorist group; how do you label a group that is now a multinational terrorist group which have been at war with the Nigeria Military for 5years or more a rag tag group? Have you seen the video of them driving and doing stunts with captured APCs and tanks? It takes training to do that. These guys get free weapons from within the Military, Nigeria and from across the border and it not about the number of weapons you have or your budget but the quality of the weapons and men being deployed by 2 opposing groups. The group that deploys the right weapons and men with the right morale and training to the right terrain wins over 90% of the engagement and not tanks, missile, heavy field guns and men with low morale in the wrong place. Please note that the fight against Bokoharam is taken place on an area that is full of red sand and sand is responsible for jaming loaders on tanks and other guns if it gets into it. Furthermore, sand also make engines breakdown if it gets into it; Bokoharam majorly make use of AA guns mounted on pickup truck, they also use tanks, APCs, RPGs, mortals and artillery captured and the ones they got on their own. Finally, Bokoharam have retired and serving military, police, customs, civil defence, immigration, politicians, civilian Jtf and even civilians among them and they get external government and non government support. Have you heard that helicopters drops supplies to Bokoharam fighters? Do you still think the Military is up against a rag tag terrorist organisation which attack Chad, Niger and Cameroon whenever they like and none have been able to effectively defeat or destroy them. Bokoharam have grown from a rag tag terrorist group to something more deadly than ever before. They are trained; Some of their videos show their training. |

Babacele:She's absolutely correct. Fact is the Chadians pulled out of the northern corridor and the terrorists, with their advanced intelligence exploited the loophole.Ask yourself how the South African mercenaries hired by GEJ were able to push back the terrorist far afield in a period of less than six months, using same weapons those guys are lamenting about. Matter of fact is the army is filled with soldiers selected on the basis of political patronage rather than natural endowments and abilities |

Venerable612: its a pity that NA army are been taken to the drains with a ragtag BH that are primitive until recently... what happened to the $1b Buhari collected and budget for the fight.. I think you are right in the sense that some people are happy this war is ongoing.. they are making monies and smiling to the bank . military hardwares like drones, Tanks ,Missiles etc that could have. been deployed to fight this on.aerial surveillance.. but i don't understand how peoples lives are wasted.. the solution UAVs that can capture tens of kilometers aerially should be deployed Sophisticated hardwares like Tanks and guns,RPGs should be purchased the moles in the NA should be fished out and prosecuted the service chiefs should be sacked and replaced ASAP... govt should investigate the budget of the army prosecute erring misappropriation of the funds... the welfare of the soldiers should be Paramount and drastic.. 2 Likes |

Venerable612:how vast is sambisa forest that they can't turn it to burial ground, since NK (North Korea ) are looking for tasting site for their missiles, why not dash them borno state so they can clear them once and for all with nuclear Bomb, losing 3 Northern state out of 36 states of Nigeria is not a bad idea, in fact Russia and North Korea can jointly use North east as their tasting site 1 Like |

Venerable612:I read somewhere that the minister of info , pleaded with journalist to under report the BH activities . If that report is true then it is safe to say this government is an accomplice . Maybe if the media have been reporting events on the theatre of operation Nigerians would have been would be able to intervene by pressurising the govt to live up to expectations . 1 Like |

[i]Is that enough reason why you should intentionally submit yourselves to be killed by Boko Haram militia? Don't you guys know that you're constituting nuisance and destroying the image of this great nation abroad? My friends here were making fun of me due to your incompetence. If at all the government weren't buying you latest ammunitions, can't you guys afford that with your salaries? At least, you're getting paid. The government will not always be there for us. Since you've vowed to defend your country in any situation, you shouldn't be too stingy to buy yourselves some riffles to get rid of a more dangerous enemy. |

MajorJeffery: The laws or will I say edicts are fluid. Even mandatory retirement on grounds of age can be adjusted by military high command if and a big IF operational requirements specify. In summary, if the military is understaffed and demand for operational capacity is high they will make things difficult for soldiers, airmen and sailors to leave. And bring all the laws to back it up. I don't know how far the boko haram crises is stretching the armed forces at the moment but there have been periods during the Obasanjo regime and during the Babangida regime (when I left) when you could retire on the flip of a coin. After Liberia there was a lot of reorganisation and some of my pals and I who were fortumate l to be alive left. I will anticipate it will be hard to.leave now but once this conflict is over the armed forces will find itself over supllied and over manned and will probably nudge people to leave. |
