Balogun is no Tiago silva nor Ramos. He is a perennial bench warmer at the ripe age of 30 let alone when he is 34. Maybe then he will be in the thai league then
andrew444:

30 is okay bro

the last time i checked during the last world cup thiago silva and miranda are both 34,pairing together in the defence

Oga player selection in the national team should be on merit not by mere sentiment so it's not a must every youth international must make it to the senior team. The apex team of the nation is meant for the very best that country can boast of and if all are fb so be it. So many African teams are taking the same route, the likes of civ.senegal, morroco etc are trying all they could to lure their lost sons abroad home so I see nothing bad if we do the same.
Danielnino00:

Morocco's proximity to Europe means they have a larger pool of FB to pick from than most other African countries.. They have better football infrastructure than us and seem to put more effort in developing their youth teams than us but this their overdependence on FB means very few of their youth players end up in their nations team...I don't want Nigeria to go down that path too ..let's limit our interest in the FB to only those we really need.. Those who can actually add something positive to the team not some farmers league players...

Yes he is a bench warmer doesn't mean he will retire at 32 ,he is a bench warmer doesn't means he will not get game time tomorrow ,so please make a good point

You prefer we chase those Germans that keep us turning us down ?

Those Germans you want them to call up are they better than omeruo ? No

And it's a must all halfcast must be called to the super eagles ?

Why was it a must that the French team to the last world cup were 90% black?

And who told u they re not interested anymore in the youngster?
I saw online few weeks ago that Renard intend visiting him in London for more discussion. Do you know how many times ziyech turned down morroco before he had a change of hrt? Make we no dey form pride wey we no get so I see no reason if we approach them a thousand times and if it works out fine and if we fail they re lots of them to still approach

Ziyech didn't turn down Morocco many times.

Ziyech has been capped from his twente days, after his Dutch u21 national team days he didn't hesitate to represent Morocco

Is it their fault ? They wanted to play for France and they where called up ,if player like umtiti was average he would have chosen Cameroon

France didn't force any of them or asslick as Nigerians are doing ,they even told aymeric Laporte who is a real French they he can play for Spain that they don't care

Dem no dey tell mad man say war don start ,after Godfrey Kondogbia 5 caps for France and no more hope of appearance why has he chosen to play for the Central African Republic?

Akpoguma and uduokhai are yet to shut the door on Nigeria so I see no reason whu mentioning their names here should be an issue. Victor Moses, sone aluko and recently Aina and ebuehi turned us down before they accepted to play for us so I see nothing wrong approaching the aforementioned duo again

Using Nigeria as second choice abi ? Make dem continue till they go reach 30 years and no appearance for Germany

Still angry about shola ameobi making the World Cup at age 31 after turning us down several times at his younger age .

If the French didn't discriminate nor neglect their talents which is very obvious I see no reason you should complain about our first 11 being made up halfcast through out

Those fb playing for us currently did they tell u that 9ja was their first choice? Balogun I remembered in an interview confessed that if the Germans called him up it would have been very difficult to reject the call in favor of us so shun bros

Why will the French neglect them ? When they are not average players ,if you are a world class black and you got French passport you will make the team ahead of an average white

Now you get the point so when the likes of akpoguma and Co realise their dream to play for Germany and others is a tall dream they will come back to their senses but for now the door is still wide open to lure them

If they re good enough to play for us then I see no reason we should neglect them just because they re yet to make up their mind to play for us. If we can have a Rotherham, paderborn and a Porto B player dorn our jersey I see no reason we should agitate the inclusion of a Wolfsburg and a hoffenheim player in our team lol

Nobody has ruled out playing for Nigeria until they are capped by the other country officially . Even Tammy only ruled out playing for Nigeria in Russia grin

Na sarcasm o

charlesemeka85:
akpoguma have not ruled playing for us out completely but if he has good advisers playing for us seem more realistic than waiting for a German call up.currently he is not being rated by the German football hierarchy and i foresee torunarigha getting a senior cap first before he will be considered by the Germans. he is way below the pecking order but good enough to be a mainstay in our defense line

When they are ready they should openly say they are available for selection the we will leave the rest for the coach

No mind them they want every tom dick and harry in the team

if you take a look at the English academy and club teams especially in lower tiers....
not just in England alone other countries inclusive.
you will lost count of players affiliated to Nigeria...
in arsenal alone...Nigeria have close to 6 young stars excluding iwobi... same with Chelsea and you know England' cannot absolve all of them...so some gonna call for us in future....let just keep using the players we have at the moment..

my only fear is that we take those that consider for us with levity and treat those making yanga as the ones we should run after.

even if he should calls...
he should be ignored for a while...
to see if he has interest playing for us...
those waiting time should be a test...
sometimes we don't value what comes so cheap...moreover in country football you need commitment to get the best from players...even with skills and technique... commitment keep players in national teams.

you all know the frustrations players like mikel, etebo and even Troost went through in the last Olympic... only a player with hunger and commitment will not retire country football after such.

we all are talking of Moses...someone like ighalo can never ply such route even if 3 agents give him such advise.
