NAF COMMENCES IN-COUNTRY PERIODIC DEPOT MAINTENANCE OF 3 ALPHA JET AIRCRAFT IN KAINJI, EXPECTS ARRIVAL OF 2 NEW ATTACK HELICOPTERS BY MARCH 2019 The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance its ability to more effectively and efficiently employ air power in response to Nigeria's national security imperatives. Most recently in this regard, the NAF has commenced the in-country Periodic Depot Maintenance (PDM) of 3 Alpha Jet aircraft at the 407 Air Combat Training Group (407 ACTG) Kainji. The in-country PDM, which commenced on 19 December 2018, is expected to further boost aircraft availability for the conduct of air operations, whilst enhancing the capacity of NAF engineers and technicians involved in the maintenance activity. It would also further improve the NAF’s self-reliance and prudent management of resources. It may be recalled that, with the support of the Federal Government, the NAF is also conducting in-country PDM of one of its C-130 aircraft, NAF 917, at the 631 Aircraft Maintenance Depot (631 ACMD). The PDM on NAF 917 has reached an advanced stage while the in-house life extension programme on another C-130H aircraft, NAF 913, was completed earlier this year. These have all contributed to raising the serviceability status of NAF operable aircraft from about 36 per cent in 2015 to its current levels of between 78 and 82 per cent. It is also noteworthy that the NAF recently recovered another Alpha Jet aircraft, NAF 476, from the United States of America. The aircraft, which was ferried into Nigeria on 6 December 2018, would soon be deployed for operations in the Northeast. Furthermore, the NAF is expecting the delivery of the first batch of Agusta Westland 109 Power attack helicopters, comprising 2 units, ordered from Italy. The aircraft would be inducted into the Service by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, in March 2019. It's an amusing thing that some Nigerians are now beginning to criticize claims with dialectics. When a man makes claims of how food stability, economy, employment, security, health etc have gotten better under him when it is well evident that this is just not false, it is also diametrically opposing to the reports from local and international monitoring agencies, then you realize that you are the subject of state funded propaganda, alternative facts and outright falsehoods. If not for the Ambassador of Thailand to Nigeria, who refuted the rice claims, Audu Ogbeh would have had us believe that Nigeria had produced so much rice, many rice mills in Thailand had packed up. Claims as this and many others differ from records, such as the FAO's. If you have any premium for your education, you will research every claim you are battered with, whether it confirms your preconceived bias or not. Good luck Nigeria, you will surely need it. 3 Likes |

The same soldiers will flee when they are to face boko haram The ragtag boko haram has so dealt with the Nigerian military to the extent where the likes of bidexiii now feel they are no more a ragtag group but are on the same par with the Nigerian army in terms of funding, training and organization A useless military that can't defeat a ragtag group operating on Nigeria territory 4 Likes 1 Share |

Patriotism shouldn't be about been loyal to the president, political party, or an organization. We must always stand up for what is right, and stand against what is wrong. bidexiii:Truth is our soldiers are more than foolish. They are also very corrupt and very very very incompetent. The only time they become powerful is when they face unarmed people. Otherwise ,if you give my grandma a gun she can go toe to toe with them. Id1ots like you are unable to see beyond your noses. You feel it is ok for the Shiites and Biafrans to be killed like chickens by the very people that swore an oath to defend them. What you are unable to realize is if the army can mete out such unwarranted brutality on unarmed Shiites, there is nothing stopping them from doing the same thing when the rest of the citizens protest over governmental policies. Would you be praising the Nigerian army if it were fuel price increase protesters that it just willfully massacred? Another thing, the presidential guard are supposed to be the elite of the elite. Seeing just how brutal, and bloodthirsty they are the Nigerian army has a very very long way to go. Right now, even the Chadian army can wipe the floor with us. Lastly, it appears the army learns absolutely nothing. And I mean NOTHING. The more Shiites they kill the more martyrs they create. These killings lead to more and more anger among the Shiites and God help us if they choose to go the Boko Haram route. Finally, that guy with the flag near the end of the NYTIMES video is one very courageous Shahid. He stood there, raised their flag and showed his defiance. He is of course dead by now courtesy of lead poisoning but compares with such icons as the Tank Man and Faris Odeh. May he rest in very perfect peace. 5 Likes 1 Share |
