tiredoflife: Maybe Ibos are responsive to "baiting", Yorubas are not. If we would act on baits, as many times as you have insulted our Elders, male and female, on our own soil....there should not be more than a few thousand Ibos left living in Yorubaland by now. But we thank the legacy of Omoluabi and the upbringing given to us. No, we have a very enduring spirit and restraints and are not easily entrapped in baits nor do we easily fly off the collar and explode in outbursts when irritated. Our fuse is very long, to trip it will take more than what you alluded to. 5 Likes |

richiepolymer: They are political almajiri. They have benefitted greatly from various programmes such as "allow" and "our turn". Affirmative action! They want everybody that labored and sacrificed for APC since 2013, and were continously booed, jeered, ridiculed and even threatened with violence by Ibo, to just step aside and "allow" because it's " our turn". 5 Likes |

Obi1kenobi: Well, your position is acknowledged in the spirit of the right of freedom of expression. World over elected officials seeking re-election reserve to themselves the right to freely campaign. |

Obi1kenobi: Federal Executives are not barred from expressing personal opinions whether on official assignments or not, but there is a thin line and it doesn't take much to cross the line, hence the guideline is always to exercise discretion and restraint. They have sworn to an oath of service and whatever a government official says is usually not retractable with a disclaimer, it sticks. It is best t o study infractions on a individual case basis. On this particular instance The VP was on Party assignment. He was in Oyo to secure endorsements for the Party candidate. They had a stop over in Alaafin's Palace. The environment at that point has changed from public official to cultural subject. The Alaafin is a political stool. When you take a political request to Alaafin for endorsement you have to attach cultural tangibles and explain the "what's in it for Yoruba". VP told Alaafin what Yoruba will benefit in 2023 by taking a course of action in 2019. This is perfectly normal. If VP had denigrated or spoke of any people in illwill then we can say he stepped over the line. His statement is all in interest of bargaining with Alaafin for endorsement of the Oyo candidate and securing a political continuance for Yoruba. 2 Likes |

Hotfreeze: Continue mocking an honest and hard-working person while extolling your brethren that make merchandise of human body parts. Don't be surprised that 'Shibuike' has graduated from selling gala into a mini provision store while keeping owning a departmental store in view. Igbos don't stagnate, they make continuous progress. |
