The key word here is inciting
I may not kill you
But I can provide the word that can push another person to kill you

So while you claim yorubas have never done such things
The civil war and the actions of your leaders says otherwise

Maybe Ibos are responsive to "baiting", Yorubas are not. If we would act on baits, as many times as you have insulted our Elders, male and female, on our own soil....there should not be more than a few thousand Ibos left living in Yorubaland by now.

But we thank the legacy of Omoluabi and the upbringing given to us. No, we have a very enduring spirit and restraints and are not easily entrapped in baits nor do we easily fly off the collar and explode in outbursts when irritated. Our fuse is very long, to trip it will take more than what you alluded to.

I wonder who is going to do the ethnic cleansing he mentioned.

Yoruba has never in its history wiped out a people for their belief or ethnicity. We will not start now. God forbid!

Ibo is not even at our level militarily...it will not be a ethnic cleansing it would be a genetic wipe out if we were to engage in such foolishness. God forbid!

I wonder if this Ibo leader meant in his phrase ethnic cleansing against Yoruba. Ohanaeze needs to call him to order.

We dont attack others...but our defensive response is legendary!

I agree. These utterances can further fuel resentment among the ethnic nationalities. At the same time, the Igbo seem not to be smart politically. Always missing it. Why can't Igbo divide themselves into two camps... One supporting buhari strongly with 2023 in view?
They shouldn't expect SW to do all the work for buhari and then hand 2023 presidency to Igbo just like that.

They are political almajiri.

They have benefitted greatly from various programmes such as "allow" and "our turn". Affirmative action!

They want everybody that labored and sacrificed for APC since 2013, and were continously booed, jeered, ridiculed and even threatened with violence by Ibo, to just step aside and "allow" because it's " our turn".

Ibos are the most stupid and unfortunate tribe in the world. See how they are shouting "hate speech" that the MOD should close the thread but it's not 'hate speech' when Obituary, Igbos, Nnamdi Cownu were hauling insults on Yoruba. It's not hate speech when Cownu ordered that Igbos should kill Yorubas in the East. It's not hate speech when Cownu ordered ibos to boycott Yorubas' businesses and places of worship.

1) Agree
2) Agree
3) A very inapt comparison. The Vice President is an elected public servant who in that capacity, should be committed (at least openly) to serving the interests of all his subjects. Ben Nwabueze is a private citizen who represents Igbo socio-cultural organizations. Comparing the responsibilities of both is ridiculous.
4) I see no strategic value in that. Seems a simple case of invoking primordial sentiments before a favored audience.
5) Not sure the games are of any productive value to the Nigerian polity. Our politics need to mature beyond this.

It's one thing for people like Ajimobi and other South West governors or the likes of Tinubu or Afenifere members or Obas to say these things. But Federal office holders like Osibanjo and Fashola getting themselves involved in this crude primordial politics seems a betrayal of core ethics expected from those who represent us in the Federal executive.

Well, your position is acknowledged in the spirit of the right of freedom of expression. World over elected officials seeking re-election reserve to themselves the right to freely campaign.

Ibo is not good at cerebral exercise assembling a logical, chronological chain-link of cause-effect events. At best they might have a good start but midway the mind strays and the thoughts shifts away from its intellectual engagement. Their mind behaves in similitude to their physique, quick twitches of brain muscle incapable of holding a thought or intellectual activity for a long concentration. The intellect has a very short endurance before it drops its cell electrons. Their physique is the same way. It lacks endurance for prolonged physical pressure before it yields. This is why they are good in contact sports or those events in which a quick jerk of the muscle is required. Any game of sports that require concentration and calculation to outmaneuver the opponent is not good for them, they fail in it. In physiology this deficiency is called ADD - Attention Deficit Disorder.

In discussion an Ibo will soon default to an emotional outburst, and unable to get his points across, he will all of a sudden resign to fate and conclude that he is being picked on, hated, stereotyped, envied, marginalized, singled out.

The genetic deficiency of ADD is truly at the root of his problem.

I can write a book on this topic of ADD and other deficiencies Ibo suffer from and its negative impact on their general mental and health balance.

It cannot be separated from their political output.

For this reason I will be an advocate of treating the Ibo demand for political inclusion the same way we would treat the demand of disabled persons for improvements in accessibility to public facilities. For indeed Ibo should be acknowdleged as a political handicap.

Just my thought!

Yoruba, the most Superior race on earth!

Actually Igbos are not that good in contact sports. Look at the UFC. We have 4 top Yoruba fighters on its roster. Not a single igbo dude. Boxing too is obvious enough

Federal Executives are not barred from expressing personal opinions whether on official assignments or not, but there is a thin line and it doesn't take much to cross the line, hence the guideline is always to exercise discretion and restraint. They have sworn to an oath of service and whatever a government official says is usually not retractable with a disclaimer, it sticks. It is best t o study infractions on a individual case basis.

On this particular instance The VP was on Party assignment. He was in Oyo to secure endorsements for the Party candidate. They had a stop over in Alaafin's Palace. The environment at that point has changed from public official to cultural subject. The Alaafin is a political stool. When you take a political request to Alaafin for endorsement you have to attach cultural tangibles and explain the "what's in it for Yoruba".

VP told Alaafin what Yoruba will benefit in 2023 by taking a course of action in 2019. This is perfectly normal.

If VP had denigrated or spoke of any people in illwill then we can say he stepped over the line. His statement is all in interest of bargaining with Alaafin for endorsement of the Oyo candidate and securing a political continuance for Yoruba.

Shibuke, I heard they have added 2 cartons of gala and a fan yogo bicycle to the dowry list of your flatheaded Osu sisters.

Continue mocking an honest and hard-working person while extolling your brethren that make merchandise of human body parts.
Don't be surprised that 'Shibuike' has graduated from selling gala into a mini provision store while keeping owning a departmental store in view. Igbos don't stagnate, they make continuous progress.
