Yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari surrendered all pretence to the rule of law and constitutional democracy by sacking the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen. Unilaterally and in flagrant violation of the Constitution, he also swore in Tanko Muhammad as the new acting CJN. By this act, the President has precipitated needless confusion in the polity. A shocking action, it will aggravate tension ahead of the general election in February and March. This poses a great peril to our democracy. https://punchng.com/cjns-suspension-a-dictator-bares-his-fangs/ 50 Likes 5 Shares

All these things happening in Nigeria is because we still have Zombies in the nation People afraid to say the truth People who don't even know the truth People who are being paid to deny the truth People who still tell this man he's performing well as the president when he has clearly, singlehandedly divided this country across religious and ethnic lines zombies must be eradicated from Nigeria or sent to daura with their boss to get this country working again 115 Likes 9 Shares |

But why is everyone suddenly calling PMB a dictator, in saner climes, when you have millions that you can't account for, you resign.. Especially when you hold an office that should be impeccable. Onnoghen implicated himself by claiming mistake in forgetting millions in his account, automatically tainting him and rendering all his previous, present and future actions as CJN questionable and subject to challenges in law courts. Some actions are not legal but are ethical, because it beats my imagination that Onnoghen wants to be tried in court by people he appointed to court, what nonsense. Although am not in support of PMB's actions, but somethings require a different approach. Remember, everything Hitler did was illegal. 11 Likes 1 Share |

The totalitarian tyrannies of Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, and others relied largely although not exclusively on mass terror and indoctrination." James Tilley-Professor of politics, Oxford University, "Nigerians must see through Buhari. He wants to convince the public that he is fighting corruption, but his hidden agenda is to institute an autocratic regime. Nigeria’s democracy can no longer be considered to be out of harm’s way." The tyranny of Buhari is simply unprecedented. Nigerians were warned but they allowed warped sentiments beclouded the sense of sound judgement 66 Likes 4 Shares

We were moving forward, learning the ropes of democracy, then Buhari came up in the 80s. We struggled and recovered the wheel. We were moving forward again, but then Buhari came up again! He is indeed a Curse! 71 Likes 7 Shares |

Donald Trump suspended a whole government for more than 1 month and he is not a dictator. PMB suspends a CJN he appointed for corrupt practices he admitted, suddenly, he becomes a dictator. What will happen if he suspends a whole govt then? PDP would be shouting Nigeria is killed, Democracy is dead, as if democracy was ever alive during the days of Obj, Yar'adua, GEJ Below is a judgment deliver by the CJN, affirming the power of the CCT to suspend any public official (he is a public official) pending the determination of his case. Of course, he may not have know that someday, the law he interpreted will be applied to him. https://www.nairaland.com/4983387/how-onnoghens-judgments-affirmed-ccts#75113785 24 Likes 2 Shares |

rottennaija:Your brain is dysfunctional. According to Nigerian law there is no provision for the suspension of a CJN by any court in the land. He can only be removed by an impeachment initiated by NJC, Senate and Presidency. No court can effect the suspension of the CJN just like no court can effect the suspension of the president. He likewise can only be impeached regardless of the weight of any accusations against him. Constitutions are founded as the backbone of any democracy, if you feel it is too slow then apply for it to be amended. That is how to begin the fight against corruption, not by going around the constitution. Donald Trump and many americans don't like the 14th amendment of the US which guarantees citizenship to all immigrant children born on visit to the US but they well understand that the constitution is a sacred document and can't simply be ignored. Even when your president went on 107 days holiday in UK, nobody declared his seat vacant when they had some constitutional backings to do so. Now don't be daft, everything trump is doing is very much constitutional within the confines of US law less he would have been impeached so don't compare rubbish. Disregarding the constitution of Nigeria is far worse an act of corruption than looting public funds because it is an invitation to anarchy and civil unrest. 44 Likes 1 Share |

The Presidents cabal has just mistakenly made the election between Nigeria and Buhari and this time around, the North has nothing to loose. He should listen to the voices behind and not praise singers.. - APC as a party has made no comment, - Basket mouth Sagay is speechless, - Judiciary against him, - Legislative against him, - He has 100% lost the SS & SE, - He has lost 65% of the SW (myself included), - Osibanjo has not declared support for this gaffe, - He just rendered Amaechi & Akpabio useless, - No Southerner can raise a hand to defend this gaffe. - A reversal would show his dullness. - ohaneze, Arewa, IJC, Middleblt, Afenifere have all shown not a single support. If the option of a united Nigeria is placed before the North against Buhari, they would sacrifice him before he blinks twice. I see Buhari going down as an "INFAMOUS" Nigerian president. 38 Likes 5 Shares |

modath:Oshiomhole was indicted and the court ordered his probe for embezzling billions of naira when he was Edo State governor, till now Buhari did nothing. Tinubu and Alpha beta were indicted and the court ordered for the probe of their activities for massive fraud and money laundering running into hundreds of billions and nothing was done by same Buhari. Grass cutter Babachir is still fresh in our mind. Maina was reinstated and paid 22 million naira when he was supposed to be investigated. Orji Uzor kalu and Akpabio are both free because they have declared for the tyrant Buhari. Ganduje and co are being defended by same Buhari despite many evidences against them. The CCT tribunal judge took a bribe of 1.8 million dollars and Buhari never asked for his head despite having a solid case against him. Amaechi was indicted by a judicial body of inquiry and Buhari ignored the reports and made him minister. Kemi Adeosun was escorted by the security agents to the airport to aid her escape from the country and avoid prosecution. Buhari himself signed a whooping NNPC contract of 25 billion USD without due process when he was in hospital in London despite relinquishing power to Osinbajo and yet he is mr integrity. Time will tell. Today all arms of government, security agencies, INEC are headed by Northerners to the detriment of Federal character. Buhari has succeeded in bringing Nigeria to its knees. He must be voted out to save Nigeria. 26 Likes 2 Shares |

Buhari has removed all pretense and has gone for broke. This mistake of a tribal and religious bigot must never again be found at the helm of affairs of a diverse multi-ethnic country. As it stands, even if Atiku wins the election in three weeks time, you don't need a soothsayer to tell you INEC would not declare him president-elect. Danger lurks ahead. It is up to Nigerians to save Nigeria. May God help us. 25 Likes 1 Share |
