Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 10:28am On Feb 03, 2019 |
No it isn’t. What you have is a study permit and not a work visa and as such you are expected to respect the conditions of your visa. You can decide to work while pursing a degree, you are allowed to work a maximum of 20hrs/wk when school is in session and a few hours more when your school isn’t. If you’re caught defaulting, you risk being deported. Regards. OyinTomato: 1 Like |

Nuel182: You're actually correct with the attachment. Although what the Canadian institution meant by high school transcript is a copy of the applicant online WAEC result and scratch card. After careful review of the application, a proof of high school diploma certificate (original copy of WAEC RESULT) will suffice. For this reason, the applicant figur, don't need to contact his/her high school requesting for a transcript. Cc: figur |

OyinTomato: Its absolutely feasible, but not advisable as you risk the chance of being eligible for a PGWP, as taking an unofficial break not scheduled by your DLI makes you ineligible unless your DLI is on a scheduled break before you can work more of 40hrs per week. How will IRCC know The DLI is mandated to report students who skip classes, and getting to Canada means you is to resume lectures, and resuming lectures also means you is to register your courses before the start of classes; after such registration, its already assumed by the DLI that you should start classes and receiving lectures which every student record is taken formally for info sharing especially with IRCC being an international student. Skipping classes to work isn't worth the benefit(s) of it. |

OyinTomato: Alright so, everyone is telling you not to do it and let me tell you why to form a different angle: if you do not get caught you will end up developing an internal fright that will haunt you in obtaining a post-graduate work permit and even beyond that. CBSA showing up at your door and taking you away is not a pretty scene, you don't want to see that coming. Right? Yes Lemme tell you a story a guy shared in Nairaland some years back. He got himself a study permit in the UK, he had a very good immigration record but he wanted to play smart (well... Sometimes we just have to do what we have to do to put food in the table). He went to do an arrangee marriage, unfortunately to him, it flopped, to keep the story short, he was deported and faced 10 years ban from entry the UK. See, what the guy did it's kinda rampant in the UK but it was unfortunate for him. According to him, he said the immigration officer that handled his case was pitying him and told him that he looks gentle and easy going and have a very good immigration record, she said he shouldn't have done it., She said, she's sorry but he will have to take it cause the law is not in her hand. That was how he saw himself in Nigeria to start from square one all over again. He said, he couldn't cry or hate himself, he did it cause he's running out of funds and he is getting nothing from home cause he has to send something home. (Y'all know there are lots of benefits when you marry a citizen). So my brother, learn from this story, I could feel the pain from the guy when I was reading the story, it happened like a film to him, he couldn't shout nor cry. what you are about to do is a very risky cause if CBSA comes knocking at your door, the story is not going to end well. mind you, CIC/IRCC usually check back on every International student through DLI to check if you're still maintaining your studentship. I hope you've gotten your TRV, if you haven't, this should be the least you should be thinking of. (for the fact they keep increasing our processing time, that's to tell you that, they are having issues with Nigerians, and maybe to themselves, they have to put more effort and time in our application. Well, God pass them FINALLY) Bless you 6 Likes 1 Share |
