Reasons been that they are diversifying. As a full fledged brand they want to also serve devices for every segment. It might even be a flagship killer like the pocophone F1.

If you look at the Mi 8 series Xiaomi were preparing for Redmi been a brand on it's own with the release of the Mi 8 lite. This tells us that they will also serve the mid-range segment as well as the premium.

You're correct. Every store now has long processing time thanks to the Chinese spring holiday. Ordered from Honkong Goldway and the processing time was 23 days!... It used to be 8 days at most. If you don't have the patience of Job, pls stay clear of AE this period.

Not necessarily true, I think what Xiaomi is trying to do is to capture as much customer base as possible for each brand ie Mi series, Poco Series n Redmi series. For example there maybe people that may like the Redmi note series but only buy flagships, now with each brand sporting its own "flagship", "midrange" n "budget" phone, there's literally no excuse anyone can give to not get a Xiaomi phone. Smart n aggressive move imho
