PoliticsNGR has gotten footage from the press conference organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Saturday morning on the 2019 Elections.

At the conference, the Chairman of the electoral body, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu announced the postponement of the 2019 general Elections citing logistics issues.

Like most things Nigeria this is the usual "fire brigade or last minute rush".

We are seldom ever adequately prepared for anything in Nigeria even at personal levels.

How would we be? When competence is often decimated on the alters of "man know man or quota systems.

This is incompetence dressed in "buba and iro with a satellite dish gele to boot".

It isn't about any one party so no party should be crying wolf or "offside" when the match is yet to begin. There is a precedence and it is certainly a "Nigerian" thing.

INEC had 4 years to plan this election, that it cannot follow its own calendar is inexcusable.

This is not about the wailers alone, all Nigerians are disappointed.

The only happy Nigerian I know is the turkey that gets to survive another week before we celebrate PMBs victory.

This had been, the plan. Now sensitive materials are in town. let the rigging begin.

The is the first time presidential election is being postponed on election day right after materials have been moved.

Does anyone even stop to think about the cost of this? to the security personnel, to the poor corpers, to other Nigerians that have already made plans?

Do we even know,what this has done to our image internationally ?

When the Attahiru Jega led INEC in 2015 postponed the election to six weeks, the reason was genuine. Boko Haram was waxing stronger controlling more than six local government areas. The security forces swung into action and they where decimated. Now the Incompetent Yakubu gave his reasons of postponement to logistic reasons. Do you know why we will keep on suffering this? When ethnicity is topmost in consideration for a national appointment and not merit.

How about those that have traveled to perform their civic right? You don't expect them to return then travel again. APC God will judge you. Buhari has sensed an impending defeat. The online polls so far have been scary. Buhari please don't impose yourself on us. We don't need you sir. We're tired of you. I voted for you in 2015 but you've failed woefully in the vital sectors. You've delivered just 2% of your campaign promises. I'd be foolish to re-elect you sir. I'll vote Atiku and if he fails which I do not pray for, I'd vote another candidate come 2023

I don't know when Nigeria government will get things right. INEC fixed the dates since last year but unable to stick to it. And the worst thing about this postponement it is announced at last hours .

this is stupidity. why die minute. even during jonathan era, that dey wanted to shift it, they announced two weeks to the election day and everyone going around for their activities .
