https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSvaTghEPbo The first time I saw Van De beek and de Ligt against us at Europa League final, I knew they were different. Van De beek came on to replace Schone in that match and everything changed with him at the heart of it all. |

Kagawa10:even your modric and kross can't lace pogba's boots now. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Kagawa10: 11:38am On Feb 17, 2019 |
weedtaker:Lol. Balloon dor player can't lace Pogba boot. You must be dreaming. Tbh, Ceballos should have been playing in the place of Modric who has looked exhausted after his fantastic world cup campaign but I guess Madrid wants to flaunt their balloon dor player for the world to see. Lol. Ceballos would eventually replace him because he's not getting younger. And I repeat Madrid wouldn't even swap Ceballos for Pogba. Lol. |

weedtaker:Penalty boots you mean? I like Pogba as a player, but no coach will place him in the midfield ahead of those two but it's weed taker in the building, quite understandable |

patrickmuf: I see what you’re saying. I’m just a bit skeptical about him. He’s been playing for years but just recently became a consideration by fans. Could be that he’s just in form. Jamie Vardy was also in form a couple of years ago. |

Kagawa10: So, in essence, you want to turn Man Utd into a youth football academy? Who are these people? What are their precedents? 4 Likes 1 Share |

diggz:Modric and Kroos play in considerably better teams thus it is easier for them to exert themselves in a game compared to Pogba who plays alongside a dependable but technically limited Herrera and lethargic Matic. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 11:57am On Feb 17, 2019 |
Leyqute:I have always been a fan of Son right from his Leverkusen days, he has always been a good player but over the past two seasons, he has improved his decision making and finishing, he can only get better. Vardy is still a very good finisher, he could do with a better team. I imagine him in Liverpool but his and Salah's tendency to drift inside makes Firmino his perfect foil. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 12:00pm On Feb 17, 2019 |
patrickmuf: Pogba himself seems lethargic |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 12:02pm On Feb 17, 2019 |
Leyqute:We can forgive him because his primary role is to contribute oo the attack from midfield but your CDM and CM should be more mobile and the CM should be better on the ball with a very good passing range. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Kagawa10: 12:08pm On Feb 17, 2019 |
Leyqute: N'dombele dominated City midfield twice, Ceballos is the main midfielder for Spain after Iniesta and Xavi got retired, Van de beek dominated our midfield when he came on against us at the europa final. Not like Ajax didn't dominate us throughout but they lacked the final edge and incisiveness to their domination until Van De beek came on and gave them that edge even while operating as a no 6. That was what caught my eye then. What I love about him is as gangly as he often looks on the ball due to his tallness, he's always in control and aware of every things around him. The new Ajax coach is even underutilizing him by playing as a no 8 whereas he's at his best as a no 6 because he doesn't have so much pace required for the no 8 role. I think the coach wants him scoring goals which he's capable of doing, even as a no 6. Anyway I've been more impressed with his performance even as a no 8 than frenkie De Jong who is flashy but a ball hugger and has a mistake waiting to happen in him in every game. |

At this time i won’t swap Pogba for any single midfielder. Where we need improvement in midfield is with Herrera and then Matic. 1 Like |

The Football Manager warrior has come again. It's no longer Poole and Harrop. Na Ceballos now. So we should bin Pogba for someone that has 0 assists and has more yellow cards than goals in 9 games....all 9 of which were from the bench. If na Herrera instead now, i for agree. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Verratti who schooled him just few days ago must have had ronaldinho, pirlo, scholes, ballack, makalele, xavi, and co playing beside him... |

Van de beek is lowkey quality though. Kagawa comes close to making sense but will almost always find a way to make sure no one takes him serious, by going overboard with anything he's saying. 1 Like |

MRTA7:anybody who collects Auour or Ndombele from lyon will enjoy them for a very long time. But neither of them will come cheap Ndombele, if he comes is coming to compete with Herrera, not play alongside him |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Kagawa10: 12:33pm On Feb 17, 2019 |
Lana1: Well, Poole remains our best defender in the academy despite playing on the left side of Central defence as right footed player. Which of the young defenders is Manning our defence today? Yeye. Harrop looked far better than the likes of mctominay and perriera when he played for us. He left out of his own will. The decision may have cost him but what can't be said about him is him looking poor like mctominay and perriera have looked so far. |

diggz:The injury to Martial and Lingard exposed OGS, he didn't plan for such scenario as his substitution showed. In the first half, the game was balanced and if not for some poor decision making and indecision, we would have ended the half a goal or two to the good. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by PietroRick: 12:35pm On Feb 17, 2019 |
Why exactly European heavyweights were fighting themselves till death for De Ligt while van de beek remained largely overlooked is not quite clear to me yet. Its reminds me of the Kluivert and Neres situation last summer. Neres, who is a bit older, much more mature and generally better was overlooked for Kluivert when clubs came calling In the end, na the club wey go buy am go enjoy because Ajax won't have the cheek to ask for 85m for van de beek. |

patrickmuf: I am not talking about that particular game bro...I only mentioned it to pass a point across. Pogba is good...can be better but he is nowhere near the players you guys want to compare him to...n.a. my point be that. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Kagawa10: 12:48pm On Feb 17, 2019 |
PietroRick: Because Van De beek doesn't look as flashy as frenkie de Jong nor does he look like all these pacey no 8 midfielders like he should be in the no 8 role. That was why I said the coach is underutilizing him. As a no 6, he would have been heralded as the new Pirlo or Alonso although with better defensive skills and pace. When he was just newly brought into the Ajax team and was playing in the place of the injured Schone as a no 6, he was heralded as the next big thing, even Ajax fans didn't want Schone to get back but then, the former coach got transferred to Dortmund and this new coach probably noticed his goal scoring skills and thinks De beek should be playing closer to the goal. |

diggz:I don't think I have read too many comparisons here, what most folks are saying is that at the moment, they wouldn't sawp Pogba for any other midfielder and they're not wrong because Pogba has been on great form for the past couple of weeks. His game is evolving, less of the fancy tricks and flicks. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Lana1(m): 12:54pm On Feb 17, 2019 |
Kagawa10:Your Poole is getting loaned to league 2 to play Sunday League football while his mates are here fighting for first team shirt. As for Harrop, na so we dey talk about dem McTominay and Perreira at the time until they entered the first team and started playing like they were in a Championship team. The only person(s) in our midfield that needs to be replaced is Matic and Herrera |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by diggz: 12:56pm On Feb 17, 2019 |
patrickmuf: If you believe being an exceptional midfielder is all about scoring couple of goals...no wahala...I sincerely hope that in the nearest future we won't have to ask what his best position is again. |

diggz:I don't know what your problem with pogba is, but let me tell you, pogba doesn't just do goals, he creates chances and have lots of assist. he already has 25goals+assists dis season, dis are stats an attacker would be proud of. ATM he'll get into any top side starting line up in Europe, no be rake. anyone who thinks otherwise na just hater. 3 Likes |

Lana1: Pereira and Mctominay had never looked as good as Harrop when he played for us. Like I said his poor decision cost him because the championship league is a tough league for inexperienced nimble feet young players that have little physique on them. They have no experience to bank on whenever their small physique fails to help them nor do they have quality team mates in their team to take off the pressure off them. What they have instead is big physically endowed team mates who are rather brutes than technical to sync with them. Harrop should have stayed and signed the contract offered to him instead of forcing a move. As for Poole, he's hardly had any appearance for the first team which would have made better club to scout him for a loan like Tuazenbe and Fosu Mensah had. What I know is it takes quality for the coach to trust a defender in the LCB role even when he's right footed. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by PietroRick: 1:14pm On Feb 17, 2019 |
Kagawa10:Poole is already on loan at Newport. This is not his first loan deal either. What first team appearances did dean Henderson have to earn his loan move to a championship club? Henderson has been rising through the ranks by consistently shinning through wherever he found himself. Conference, to league 1 to championship in about 3 years. There is talk of continental interest in him at the moment even. |
