No issue at all.
look up my Moniker, it is only good news we share here and everywhere, ..
This one touch me gan!
No issue, i am not at war with you, but we need to sit up in this country and ask some relevant questions.

He was probably answered like they were waiting for him, DS-160 at work.

No one is fighting you and as far as I know this thread has been around for more than 5 years, people come and go but the knowledge will remain, hopeful someone learn from it.
it's not by force you must visit U.S no be do or die and if you know the true meaning of slavery you won't compare it with denial at the embassy.
Good luck with him getting the visa, it add nothing to my life. This is a free forum but I tried to remove sentiment from whatever I post here.

Maybe i didn't see it your way, Rejection doesn't make anyone happy.

Going through the process of applying again, waiting for you turn to be interviewed , i don't think make anyone happy.

The word "slavery" was used by the next man who brought the "big Man".

i was touched cause no reason in the entire world does he deserve rejection, my pain!

I gave him some words of encouragement though, graduation is by September 2019, and he applied now, they may just want to make a little more money , allow some time and maybe reapply by July.

He Left for UK as i type just to cool off, He has 2 houses in Atlanta oooo, .... Very very funny rejection, never heard of this before.

It won't be the first and it won't be the last. Every country does it.

BTW, since you visited the US embassy today did you get the visa?

We are under the belief that if you have no visa interview scheduled you will not be authorized into the visa interview room.

Oga, Really i think whoever said the best place to hide knowledge from a black man is in BOOKS might not be far from the truth Sorry i started this way. First you said you talked about your Client. What are you into if i may ask? If you are a travel agent and help people Fill their DS 160 and all other travel document then you are the problem that some of these guys have.. It has been said severally that the forms would best be filled by the applicant themselves so they can defend what is in there.. You do not know the reason why he was denied, fromwhat you wrote about him its surprising as to why he was denied but then like SEYEWEST pointed out, who knows what he did 10 year ago when he went there? again this might be preposterous. i would tell you what. The first time i applied for US Visa i was rejected, but guess what i had to ask myself why i was rejected and i realise that i made some errors with my date of arrival and departure date as it does not really tally with the date program i was going for. I did not get angry with the System, after all na me wan go EMERIKA. Instead i came back and that was when i discovered this forum and since then i read it everyday like its naija new, Anyway i applied the next year, got the visa cos i learnt alot from the guys here. LAdy G, Chloe, Omobendel, SEYEWEST and a whole lot of Gurus that i no longer see their posts . Now i got the visa stresslessly, after READING this forum and learning. You said that you dont know why the man would be denied but you fail to understand that its their country and they have the right to Deny him. If you are a Travel agent, thats fine and well i pray God blesses your hustle, You might also want to learn more here and all other online sites so as to proffer better solutions to your CLIENTS so as no to come here to lash out on a system that has done nothing to you... Aslo you could read and ask questions in Quora.com, there are lots of answers there and you would learn from them. complaining with all these negative energy would not help you. People get VISA everyday and travel to USA everyday. do the right things and make sure you application or that of you CLIENTS are in other and they would get their VISAs. go to Embassy and see the stupid answers we NIGERIANS give the VO when asked why they are going to USA. even You listening would know that they dont deserve to to there cos them NO GO COME BACK AGAIN. There are some applications that are almost not but approved (quote me).

Reading through some of the recent posts about denials, I thought I should share the experience of a distinguished Nigerian college Professor whom I know, that seemed somewhat puzzling. I have very little knowledge about how this visa thing works, but sometimes it seems the decisions can be somewhat arbitrary. This Professor went to Johns Hopkins University in the U.S. for his Masters and PHD degrees after getting a medical degree in Nigeria. He has traveled extensively around the world for conferences, sabbaticals and research purposes, the U.S. included. Last year, he received a CDC grant to co-author a procedures manual/book with several other U.S. researchers. This required that he be present in the U.S. for a few weeks over the summer at a host U.S. university. Visa was denied; according to him the VO was grumpy and somewhat discourteous. The university wrote a letter to their congressman explaining the circumstances and asking for help. Communication was sent to the consulate to look into the matter and give any consideration possible. The response was that they are required by law to presume all applicants have immigrant intent, and overcoming that presumption is the requirement of the applicant, and that the applicant was given a fair chance to prove himself during the interview and is welcome to reapply. He reapplied and was granted the visa, said all he was asked was for his passport and purpose of visit. I believe the consular officer has complete authority on issuance/rejection of visas, but it does appear there could be an element of subjectivity involved.

You're right about the mood/emotion of the V.O after all they're human, this is where the importance of your visit to U.S will be needed when you reapply.
You should be able to explain your grievances in a clear and concise manner.

For those who like or love to use agents on this thread this is a DIY thread (caveat emptor) and many people including me have gotten visas over the past how many years from tips from the group which has been super helpful.
I got my first USA visa in part 1 after being refused twice and with very good travel history to the Uk and Europe. So tbh gather experiences and don’t answer anyone jumping into your dm to say they can help, we know them and we have identified one of them now.

My theory is this. Try to get an early morning interview so as to catch the VO in a good mood before they have been frustrated by multiple applicants yelling at them for denials. God help you if the VO has fought with their spouse before resuming for work that morning grin. But you must admit that they are a lot harder on Nigerians than citizens of other countries, likely because of our history of overstays and illegal immigration. If a Nigerian was to state reason for visit to NY as "I have heard and seen pictures of Times Square. I think its wonderful and would like to go expoerience it first hand"; most will say this is not good enough. But this same reason is given by scores of citizens of other countries and they are granted visas.

Huh, I really doubt that.

But even if in case it happens to be true one shouldn't blame the visa officers due to the fact those people from other countries might be more truthful to their reasons for visiting the US but in the case of Nigerians the opposite might be the case.

Hard to believe, but very true. I personally know of a British citizen who being ineligible for ESTA due to a DUI was granted a visa based on this reason. Another lady from East Africa got her visa to come see the ball drop in Times Square on New Year's Eve. And another for the Thanksgiving Macy's parade. These are events that NY is known for and attracts tourists from all over the world. Valid reasons for tourist travel for other countries but not Nigeria. Go figure!

Folks, i need your help in this dilemma I'm in

We applied for a b1/b2 visa via Dropbox sometime in Feb and got a white 221g slip asking us to reappear for an interview. Due to our busy schedules we didn't pick up the passports till what later turned out to be the last day for booking a date under the 221g. We picked farthest date being sometime later towards the end of March. I figured they want to ask why we've been in the US several times over the last 2 years and what we've been doing.

A bit of background: we've been in the US several times over the last 2 years. Initially to attend a family reunion during which we spend some weeks, next to do a couple of exams and attend a couple of school interviews as we were interested in pursuing further education. We're professionals in the medical field. By the way, i was successful and got a school willing to allow me come and do my desired program. All these took a couple of months to achieve and we got leave from work to do so. We have family in the US and they were ok with helping us out accommodation wise. We also spent good time together as well, my spouse especially who hadn't seen the folks including parents for nearly 20years. Her father's health has been in decline, he's advanced in age and he really enjoyed having her and the kids especially around.Throughout out stay, we didn't have recourse to public funds in any way, we didn't overstay beyond the time allotted on the passports at the POE. We both have travel history having traveled to various countries before for conferences and to visit family. When we applied for the dropbox, we weren't planning to travel till year end, to visit. We just wanted to do the dropbox thing and be done with it.

the dilemma is this: The information from the school came late. It came in After we've already applied for the dropbox so i know at some point I'll have to appear for an interview for a student visa. I do not plan to have my family over in the US while I'm in school. It's pointless given the careers we have to stand still for 2 years, so no point in having them over especially my spouse.

i know we will be asked what we did over the last 2 years. My spouse is of the opinion we tell them apart from spending time with family, we also wrote exams etc. I feel that is at odds with the purpose for the visa which is to visit family. I've been reading on threads here that if you have to do something different, you must notify the consulate in Nigeria. At the time i didn't know this.

I am also afraid a refusal at the 221g may also affect the student visa interview as par steering the conversation away from my intending studies etc to this matter. Also i don't know if the whole issue may result in having our passports taken for the so called admin processing which i hear can take weeks. I don't want to lose this admission as it's a real career booster and not many Nigerians have it. It was also very tough and the school considers their seat exclusive and won't even defer. (Its a doctorate in my field and I'm the first African, not just Nigerian they're taking on). School will be resuming by late june and it's a 2 year program.

The dilemma is this: do we go for the 221g interview? And how do we explain our activities in a way the VO will find acceptable.

My instinct is to cancel this interview but I've been told if we do so, then that means we have something to hide, I'm thinking of writing to them asking for a rescheduling for a longer time so i can show up for the student visa interview without this clouding anything up. We also do not mind submitting a fresh application if need be. Then there's also the issue of our application being a joint one. It's my understanding that all of us must be present.

I am confused to be honest.

Cc: Justwise

1. Are you employed?

2. How many times did you visit US in the past 2yrs?

3. How long did you stay in each visit?

Don't cancel the appointment because doing that will not help your case by any means
