tritritri:The direction is specific to OML 11 held by shell bp. It not every oil wells. There must be a reason for such a direction. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by OBAGADAFFI: 9:07pm On Mar 13, 2019 |
tritritri: Oga, Not all Oil wells. Just OML 11 Operation of OML 11 has been in contention. Ogoni people kicked out Shell from the oilfields and have refused them entry. Other indigenous operators are joustling for it. |

OBAGADAFFI: Is it the one Transcorp is eyeing to take over? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mpeace(m): 10:24pm On Mar 13, 2019 |
locodemy:Lol. That's one of them. Shell was about to sell OML 11 and 17 for $2billion and Transcorp were about to buy. But fg has given direction on OML 11. Hmm... |

OBAGADAFFI: This can be the first step in a series of process to get this field back to full production, I read somewhere of a local ogoni chieftain trying to acquire the field so that Ogonis can own it...... I will have to dig deeper to know if transcorp has paid the sum Shell was asking for.........Also the federal government does not really want to operate the field, they own 55% of the joint venture so this move is kind of a way to establish smooth operations of the field......... Info will always be the key, brothers and sisters lets keep this alive |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by aremso(m): 5:05am On Mar 14, 2019 |
maishai: I was in ogoni recently on fact finding mission and from my enquiry, the ogoni people does not want shell back again instead they want multinational like Mobil, addax and Chevron. No ordinary ogoni would be allowed by their people to acquire the field because of their nature to each other. They preferred the multinational I mentioned. If government can operate it through JV it will go a long way in improving the lives of this people. They are backward in many things especially good schools and other social amenities. There a lots of legal issues surrounding ogoni oil field for now and any company going in without knowing the nitty gritty of what is on ground am afraid such is in for serious trouble. Magnus abbey is an ogoni man and what he displayed during APC issues in rivers is typically nature of an ogoni man. Pls oo I don't belongs to any party just used that as ref. So caveat emptor for any coy going to ogoni before they acquire legal issues instead of acquiring oil field. An average ogoni man likes to settle his matters via court of law 1 Like |

DAILY STOCK MARKET GUIDE FOR 14 MARCH 2019 MSCI seems not interested yet in the market as at 13 March 2019. We just still need to restrain ourselves; the market is still risky, opportunities are still limited. With Brent hitting $68.08 this morning, Nigeria equities may attract more attention. Close at or above the Primary Pivot of 31,259.41 today, for the all share index is an indication that market is becoming stable. FBNH is still a good buy at the current price (with MACD cross and closing above the EMA) will not be a bad play. Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source. Also, Institutions can afford to suffer big losses without going burst compared with an individual, you cannot follow them blindly (you need to at least have some knowledge/your own plan). sky2891: One of the things that moved me to buy Transcorp then was this news of acquiring oil well.I believe some people saw this too as a welcome development. one need to review the business model of Transcorp and what the future holds for them to know whether to remain or quit. For me,I am not yet ready to dive back now till the coast is clear. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mcy56(f): 10:52am On Mar 14, 2019 |
locodemy:I dont think so. Transcorp is planning to buy the natural gas power plant and not the oil block. I may be wrong anyway. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2018/09/05/shell-to-sell-2bn-oil-blocks/ |
