aboking:What I know without doubt is that BSU is partially accredited, It wouldn't be listed as such on MDCN site if it wasn't. Perhaps they made some deal with MDCN to graduate some sets (this is Nija, money rules) but the fact still remains that it's listed as partially accredited. MDCN will only give you full accreditation when you deserve it but can make some provisions for your students to graduate. Most of these partially accredited schools have deals with other fully accredited ones to graduate their students under their wing. You will only find out when you see the certificate.(my opinion though) The main issue is that BSU though a "fine" school is still partially accredited. Feel free to check for yourself on MDCN site/portal. |

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by horpeyemmi66(m): 12:24pm On Mar 20, 2019 |
King336:Maybe, maybe not but most likely maybe not. I know someone who studied Medicine at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye who's now practicing in Australia. Make sure the University is accredited and reputable... And know what you are doing, that's the utmost. |

aboking:I would take info from MDCN official website over that of Nairaland/others any day....that's my opinion. You may be right though but I smell something fishy. All the fully accredited medical schools are listed as such. Partially accredited medical schools are not different from others, the only problem is that the accreditation can be withdrawn any time leading to some sets being delayed. But I hope you are right even though I know you aren't. |

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by tymp(m): 7:05pm On Mar 21, 2019 |
Ifyjoshblaze: Hello sir! Please sir, do you have any idea when the MDCN site was last updated, sir? BSU isn't the only school still on MDCN's Partially Accredited list while the students say she's fully accredited sir. You said it yourself, sir, that Partially Accredited schools can't graduate students sir, but the other person said some sets have been graduated already. But then, sir, you mentioned schools having an agreement (an affiliation, sir?), but is the MDCN going to allow students of partially accredited institutions to graduate under the wings of fully accredited ones? Obviously, they still underwent training under the 'unqualified' school? So, sir, my question, basically, is, how practical is that sir? Also sir, I'm wondering, "Why your strong advocation for the 'repression' of 'unaccredited' medical schools, sir? Yours Humbly. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Dvd4: 9:21pm On Mar 21, 2019 |
tymp:Lolz! This kind SIR. Hope you know that SIR doesn't depict loyalty nor humility? |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Nobody: 10:18pm On Mar 21, 2019 |
tymp:I am not advocating for any sort of repression of unaccredited Medical Schools as you put it. Don't just throw words around, you can't take them back. This is Nigeria ,most councils like MDCN are corrupt to the core so anything can happen. You can cut a deal to graduate your students but they'll never list you as fully accredited unless you merit it. Mdcn site bears 2018 as its current year. I am not against any unaccredited school, you can enroll anywhere you want as far as you are qualified, the problem with partially accredited schools is that the students are always wary of the accreditation being withdrawn. I will advise anyone that cares to listen to go for fully accredited ones if you want to avoid long stories., Having said that, all aspirants are free to school wherever they want. Your choice, your responsibility. That'll be all from me on this issue |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by aboking: 11:44pm On Mar 21, 2019 |
Ifyjoshblaze:I feel you are wasting your time too hence you fail to make some findings before coming up with such argument. Take for instance university of medical science in on do state is fully accredited last year but it is not even on the list of partially accredited universities just like some private universities like Bingham university, Bowen university and Afe babarola all having full accreditation. You may be right in your thinking that hence they are not on the list of accredited universities on MDCN website but MDCN are to blame for not updating their website. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by tymp(m): 12:23am On Mar 22, 2019 |
Ifyjoshblaze: Thank you. Now, I'm not arguing about the risks of schools not fully accredited. Just trying to make a point. Summarily, I have two points, actually: 1. Quoting you: "Don't just throw words around, you can't take them back." 2. That particular page(which seems your forte) has been like that for as long as I can remember. I think the first time I saw it was early 2017. Surely, something, at least, should have changed since then. My opinion though. |
